  1. Well, for those of you who aren't on the discord or who are and just missed this: I've been working on a game called Radiant University. It's based on the KKC games, specifically LG65. I won't be running this game for a long while (I can only run games during summers, and I've already got several other games lined up for this coming summer), but I've been working on this for awhile and finished up the rules earlier tonight. So, at a grand total of just over 10,000 words and 24 pages, here is Radiant University. Huge thanks to @TJ Shade @Ashbringer @Elbereth @little wilson @Experience and @Haelbarde for helping me out as I was working on these rules, especially TJ. I spent a lot of time spamming him with my thoughts and ideas as I was working on this game, and he was really helpful for getting a lot of this done, especially with helping me figure out some of the surge actions. It's been a long month and a half, and I'm really glad I'm finally done. Also, feel free to give me comments on the rules! I might still make some changes if people point out things that are incredibly broken, plus I need stuff to add to the Clarifications section. EDIT: Oh, also, @Kasimir listened to me ramble about Radiant University occasionally as well! Thanks man! I know you avoid complex games like the plague, but thanks for listening to me ramble sometimes.
  2. So, I'm gonna sign up for a fairly standard mistborn LG. Basically just adjusted Tyrian Falls rules, probably with an added Augur and Oracle because I like those roles.
  3. So...any of @Matrim's Dice @The Windrunner Supreme @Fifth Scholar @Mailliw73 @Quintessential @Tani @The Young Pyromancer @_Stick_ @Young Bard @The Unknown Order @Biplet or @Experience wanna do some last minute vote shenanigans and move to Pyro? If not, I may as well post this: ~ As the crowd descended upon Variel, he straightened his coat and began to tell a story. "Once upon a time, there was a man named Strivel. He was known throughout the land as He Who Shields From The Execution...or just the Shield, for short. He spent his time going around the world, finding groups of people in need, and attempting to help them. Often, he would be attacked for this. Many people didn't take kindly to how he tried to help, though he did have good intentions. And he did his best to help the common man. "However, he often failed miserably. Perhaps being used as a Shield from the execution...isn't the best way to help people. You see, Strivel often found himself in precarious positions. He'd come up with grand ideas, lofty ways of solving people's problems. And there were often many, many holes. Many holes. So, people tore his ideas apart...and often nearly tore him apart too! Strivel wasn't known for staying in one place for very long. Hard to do that when everyone there is calling for your execution. "One time, he found himself in the precarious position of knowing who exactly needed to be killed to best help keep a town safe. So, rather than carefully lead the town in the right direction, he blurted out the names. He was promptly attacked and swept from the town, nearly losing his life. "One would think that Strivel would learn his lesson, but no, it happened again and again and again. There was always something that made Strivel such a good target for people's ire. Strivel took this in stride, though sometimes it hurt to know that everyone thought he was so terrible at giving advice. "So, why am I telling this story?" Variel pauses as a man decks him in the face. "Well, I feel it fits pretty well, considering you lot are attacking me when all I wanted to do was just tell some stories and learn some of y'all's. I hope you feel terribly dissatisfied at not knowing what happened next to Strivel."
  4. Striker(8): Matrim's Dice, The Windrunner Supreme, Maill, Quinn, Fifth, Tani, Bippy, Pyro Ashbringer(2): Young Bard, Stick, Gears(1): TJ TUO(1): Ash Pyro(3): Araris, Illwei, Striker Maill(1): Experience @Matrim's Dice Here's the actual vote count. Also...I've been thinking about what to say about your arguments against me and...I don't have much, but I will make a few comments. I've basically resigned myself to dying though, so I don't expect many people to change their minds about me at this point. Also wouldn't want them to, unless they could get the alternate exe candidate at least 2-3 votes ahead of me. I mean...is it really so hard to believe that I just forgot that Smokers existed when I said my Seeker thing? And besides that, I really don't think there's very many holes in my ideas in that post. Sure, it was rushed, but that's because I typed it up in like 5-10 minutes. Of course I didn't think through every little thing for everything I was saying. I mean...I talked with Maill about the vote manip stuff in PMs, and realized that we really had no clue what was going on there exactly. I do still think it's highly likely that at least one of the removed votes comes from an elim Soother, I just don't think it's necessarily indicative of Reading's alignment since the order could've been placed well before the vote moved to its final resting place. And then I talk about how I think he's more likely village than not exactly five minutes after the post you linked (here is the post). Plus Ventyl is literally the only person that said anything between the post you linked and the one I did. It's not like I got any backlash or anything and started backing off. I was literally just thinking through ideas out loud in the thread. And as I was talking through them, I was realizing that all of what I was saying was extremely complicated and really unnecessary and not at all worth the elims' time. Did I probably accidentally cause his death? Yeah, probably. Someone followed my lead too much. I'm not the only person ever that goes through and tries to make sense of who the elims might be based on who they're killing. If I remember correctly, Ash himself did something like this in QF50. Granted, I was an elim then, but that's not the point I'm trying to make. What I'm trying to say is that I don't think it was incredibly wrong for me to make some assumptions based on a single kill and then see how those assumptions play out once we get more kills. Did I overstate my case? Absolutely. But when do I not act with far more confidence than I reasonably should? I voted Tani because her hopping around a bunch on the votes was odd to me at the time. I've since backed off on that because it seems to be how she wants to play the game, and I'm not going to harp on new players' playstyles or anything like that. And...I mean, I guess you can read me as elim because I'm sus of people you're also sus of? But like...why? Anyway, I got ninja'd a couple times, but I don't want to lose this because I ended up typing a lot more than I meant to and it'd be a shame if I lost this. I'm going to sleep after this. So, this will probably be my last post, unless I manage to get on sometime tomorrow morning before rollover. If I don't die, I shall be very surprised, to say the least. EDIT: Of course one of the ninjas was Pyro voting on me and messing up my vote count. It's fixed now.
  5. Care to explain why or to switch your vote again? I'm gonna be honest and say that I don't really remember where the suspicion came from for Reading either. I mean, I wasn't even trying to say that Tani was overemphasizing how new they were. I was just trying to say that like...it felt like they were using the fact they were new to do all that vote hopping and stuff. Which...as of right now, I'm not sure I think that anymore. And with you, I think it's genuine confusion, though you're already starting to get the hang of things. Ouch, but hey, fun way to start off our first game together! Anyway, what exactly are the main points against me? @Matrim's Dice...apparently I can no longer tag players? Okay. Someone wanna tag the others voting on me for me? I'm just wanting everyone who's voting on me to like...explain why exactly they're voting on me, so I can go through and like...make arguments against them? I'm pretty sure I won't be surviving this turn either way, but may as well take a shot at convincing some people to vote on like...Illwei or Gears or Pyro or TJ or Maill with me. Speaking of which, list of my reads on people, based entirely on just what I can remember right now: Strong Elim: TJ (not 100% sure why, but some of that stuff with the LG67 thing just rubbed me the wrong way like...he was trying to make it seem like, oh of course we would've known not to focus on Ventyl if he'd survived but...I dunno. been getting odd vibes from him), Maill (I've been getting stranger and stranger vibes from him as the game has gone on, both in PMs and in thread. He's probably my first suggestion to look at when I die). Mild Elim: Gears (mostly gut, based just on tone from his stuff. I know this is probably the same as how his posts always make me feel, but hey, eventually I gotta be right someday ), Quinn (eh? not sure, but not null. Probably could go on either side of the null, depending on which post of hers I read ), Illwei (mostly because of odd vibes from D1 and less odd vibes, but still present vibes from today), TUO (everything with those like...subtext claims being all over the place just gave me bad vibes), Pyro (wasn't a fan of how he treated Elandera last turn, plus he's been doing odd things. not my strongest elim read, but put it here because he's not null and not mild village). Null: Fifth (I know he's voted more to not belong in this category, but I honestly have no opinion on the stuff he's done so far), Reading (like I said, don't remember why the train started on him or anything about him really), Dannex, Devo, Experience, The Windrunner Supreme, Burnt, Stink, Daisy, Young Bard. Mild Village: Mat (we seem to run into some sort of argument at the start of every game somehow, and this last time wasn't any different. I think he's probably village, but I always worry about him, so he's only mild for now), Araris (got some relatively good vibes from him, and he feels like village!Araris to me, at least so far), Ash (I know I'm voting on him, yes, but I think he's probably not elim? but he's my best chance at surviving right now), Stick (she seems to be pretty legitimately trying to solve the game, even if we disagree. trying not to let my disagreements affect my judgement of people), Tani (despite everything, I'm putting her here for now, because I think I've been convinced that the way she's playing is just a playstyle thing). Strong Village: Elandera (making really good comments and starting to help out and seems to want to have fun and solve the game; seems pretty good to me), Bippy (she seems like she is legit just confused so far, though learning pretty progressively. Plus she seems to be actively trying to solve the game, so pretty sure she's village). Striker(7): Matrim's Dice, The Windrunner Supreme, Maill, Quinn, Fifth, Tani, Bippy Ashbringer(3): Young Bard, Stick, Striker, Araris(2): Illwei, Experience Gears(1): TJ TUO(1): Ash Pyro(1): Araris Anyway, I'll be off and on for the next couple hours, but probably won't post anything nearly this long again.
  6. Okay, this version of the vote count should be completely accurate now: Striker(5): Matrim's Dice, The Windrunner Supreme, Maill, Quinn, Fifth Ashbringer(3): Young Bard, Stick, Striker, Illwei(1): Tani, Araris(2): Illwei, Experience Gears(1): TJ TUO(1): Ash Pyro(1): Araris So, I really don't have time to be on here (I still have two assignments I need to do, so after this I'm closing this tab and not coming back until I'm done), but I just want to say that I'm mostly indifferent towards Ash right now. I feel less strongly about the stuff Stick has pointed out than I did when she first pointed the stuff out. Plus, even if some of the PM stuff I sent him didn't pan out the way I thought it would, I still got a mostly village vibe from it. But, I would rather not die, and if not enough people are voting on other people, I'll be sticking to Ash. People I would be down to grinch: TJ, Maill, Pyro, Illwei, maybe Gears? People I would absolutely not be down to grinch: Mat (even if we disagreed a lot, he feels village), bippy, Tani, Araris, and Elandera.
  7. Okay, first off, @TJ Shade just want to say that, just because something like the Ventyl situation happened in LG67 doesn’t mean that everyone here would know that or prevent it or even want to prevent it. I was there and I don’t even know what you’re talking about. Second, here’s a vote count: Striker(4): Matrim's Dice, The Windrunner Supreme, Maill, Quinn, Ashbringer(5): Young Bard, Stick, Striker, Araris, Fifth Illwei(1): Tani, Araris(2): Illwei, Experience Gears(1): TJ TUO(1): Ash Third: I just want to say: even I don’t remember why I voted on Stick. Looking back on her (at least in my memory; don’t really have much time to reread anything), she’s been giving me generally null to village vibes, because she seems to legit be trying to solve the game. I think that one post about the Coinshot from her just threw me off. As for my thoughts of the elim team: yes, I’m making assumptions. But I’d rather having something to go off than nothing. And if I’m wrong because my suspects are villagers or because we start getting kills that don’t fit the profile I’m thinking of, I’d adjust my assumptions.
  8. Okay, so Tani, Ash. I'm sorry Ash, but I'd like to have a chance to live. And, even though I was slightly suspicious of Stick earlier, that latest post of hers really makes sense and does not make you look good. I probably won't be back for another few hours, only really had a minute or two to spare to type this. Tani(1): Illwei, Striker(3): Matrim's Dice, The Windrunner Supreme, Maill, Ashbringer(4): Young Bard, Stick, Quinn, Striker, Illwei(1): Tani,
  9. I’m not trying to attribute it to just your newness. I’m just saying that I think you’re acting in a way that like...makes people just go “oh you’re just a new player.” Either that or you’re just not used to the meta around here and are just going for it however you want.
  10. So, I'm not gonna have much time to get on and defend myself today. And definitely won't be on for the last 8-9 hours or so. At best, I'll be around for a few hours before I go to sleep. I'm switching from Stick to Tani. It feels like they're overemphasizing their newness as a player, probably due to being coached by an elim team about doing that. If they flip elim, I'd look at some older players, because that was a pretty popular strategy when new players got elim. So like, Maill, stick, Araris, etc. Of the people voting me, I'm most suspicious of Tani and Maill. Mat and Quinn feel normal to me, even if they're sus of me (which, I mean, when does that never happen? ), and Windrunner hasn't done much, so idk about them. Tani(2): Illwei, Striker Striker(5): Matrim's Dice, The Windrunner Supreme, Quinn, Tani, Maill Ashbringer(1): Young Bard
  11. I mean, maybe we can let people play with different playstyles that they're having fun with! I'm personally loving her posts. Plus, she is making some pretty good points, if you're reading closely. I do think she could also do some occasional less-RP focused posts, but I'd rather her have fun than feel like she has to participate. Also, I was definitely not the only player talking about the stuff with Ventyl possibly being elim. Maybe I was the most vocal, but I wasn't the only one. And I definitely came to the conclusion that he was most likely village. You can go read what I said, if you want.
  12. Like Quinn and Elandera said: I highly doubt the elims have a coinshot. Mistborn? Maybe. But I highly doubt they have a coinshot. And even if they do, I highly doubt the Ventyl kill would be from the elims. If we're going to assume that the Rando kill is indicative of the elim profile (granted, it's one kill, so we can't make too many assumptions), then it seems they would prefer to go after more low-profile players. Killing Ventyl doesn't fit that MO for our team, following this profile of who the elims might be at least. Plus, literally speaking, Ventyl surviving would cause doubt about his alignment. Keeping Ventyl alive would leave a villager to focus discussion away from the elims. Also, I'm going to vote on Stick. They've been giving me some odd vibes throughout the game and I don't like how she went about trying to plant the idea that it wasn't a village coinshot that did the kill. Feels almost like she's trying to make us really suspect that the coinshot, whoever they may be, is an elim.
  13. Okay, so, first off, not much time for me to write this. Apologies if none of this makes any sense. I've got about 2 minutes to write this. Anyway, so, Ventyl being hit by the coinshot is interesting. Didn't realize that the kills would be differentiated. Knowing who killed who is really interesting though, because it gives us a profile for our killers. We know that the elims wanted to go for low info kills, which I think means they are probably more active than inactive, as a team. Which...granted, doesn't help us too much as a lot of people in this game are pretty active. We also know that the elims wanted to keep Ventyl alive because they deemed him not a threat to them, at least as of last turn. I feel like it isn't much of a leap to say that they probably kept him alive to draw suspicion towards him for surviving and away from themselves. Some players off the top of my head that I think would think of a plan like that: possibly Maill, stick, mat, gears, quinn, maybe even Devo. As for the coinshot, we know they have a similar mentality to my own with regards to kills: use them often, and don't hold back. Whoever the coinshot is decided that they thought Ventyl was bluffing. Which...is probably partially my fault, since I started bringing that possibility up a lot. Anyway, I'm gonna be looking at Mat and Illwei when I get a chance, just based on what I remember from D1. Probably won't be back for like 2.5 hours or so.
  14. I mean, not necessarily. The Lurcher, assuming there is one, should decide whether or not they want to protect Ventyl on their own. I personally think it would be interesting to leave Ventyl unprotected and see what happens. If he survives too long...then we take a look at him. But also, if most people are pretty sure he's a villager, I'm also fine with recommending that the Lurcher protect him.
