  1. Oh, but then the elim smoker just smokes you again, wouldn't they? I mean, like...it's a really big IKYK at this point. Because like...if you're really a villager, the elims can't afford to waste their resources trying to smoke you to frame you over and over again. So, if you're really a villager, you'll probably be dead in a cycle or two. Because one of the elims biggest worries is a basically confirmed villager running around doing things. Another thing we (meaning everyone besides Ventyl) have to worry about is what if the person that claims to have scanned you is actually just an elim? That throws another wrench into everything as well. Anyway, this is all a lot of more IKYK-y stuff...and when it comes down to it, I think you're more likely village than not.
  2. I'm not saying I think you're sus because of your role. I don't care if you're a smoker or not. I care about if you're an elim or not. What's making me sus is that you've claimed your role. Okay, that's all good. You said you'd turn off the coppercloud so someone could scan you. Okay, also cool. But now you're bringing up the fact that an elim smoker could smoke you to make you appear as a vanillager, like the elims would be trying to frame you in that case. But like...if you're village, it saves the elims a lot more resources if they just...kill you. Like, they want to smoke their own players more than they want to try and smoke you. Like, sure there would be a benefit in theory to smoking you and trying to throw shade your way, but there is more benefit in smoking their own players and making sure at least two of their players show up as vanillagers instead of an elim. So...I think this is all an elaborate ploy to give you a reason to come back as a vanillager if someone scans you. And of course, if/when it happens, you'll claim the elim smoker smoked you so...idk man.
  3. I mean...I really don't think we should just kill all vanillagers. Like...there are going to be actual vanillagers, as Books' death has shown us. Being a vanillager isn't enough reasoning to kill someone. If someone is a vanillager, according to a scan, and people find them suspicious for other reasons, then we can consider the possibility of them being Smoked and therefore actually being an elim. But even then, they could be a villager Smoker (though I find it somewhat unlikely we have more than just Ventyl when it comes to those) or be a villager that's been Smoked by someone (whether the Smoker in that case is an elim or not doesn't matter). I definitely don't think it's a good idea to kill vanillagers. I also definitely think we're going to have a lot more of those than you think we will. Not saying you have a role, but like...I wouldn't be surprised if half of the players are vanilla this game, knowing Kas. I'm betting we at least have 7-10 vanillas, if not more. This game definitely is not going to be role madness or anywhere near it. Also, if I'm off about what you're trying to say, can you let me know? ....you're really not helping yourself, bro. I had put you solidly in my village pile, because I was thinking "well, he'd get outed pretty fast if he came back as a vanilla villager or an elim obviously, so this claim must be true!" but like...now you're being all IKYK-y, so...I don't know anymore.
  4. Maill had a vote on Illwei by the end of the turn, according to Kas's vote count for this turn. Did you just miss that? Besides that, thank you for doing the analysis I said I was going to. (Also thank @Biplet for making him tell us what the hecc any of this means ) So, looking at this...I'm really not sure when those votes might've been soothed off. They legit could've been moved off much earlier in the cycle, and then people moved votes around again, and who knows why they were originally Soothed. I don't know what to make of this. There's so many votes that could've possibly been Soothed (though we do know that 2 of the people who voted for Reading had their votes Soothed off, just not which ones), it's hard to tell what the intention of the vote manip was with so much of it flying around and there being so many options for how things ended up this way. I do think the option that makes the most sense is there being 3 Soothers.
  5. We’ve got a few options actually. 3 soothers, 2 soothers and a rioter that didn’t vote, 4 soothers and a rioter (4th soother and rioter targeting the same vote), 1 soother and 1 rioter (the rioter would have to be someone who voted on Books or Reading). I think the first two are the most likely, with the last one being the next likely. I highly doubt we have 4 soothers.
  6. So, first off, only 2 votes were moved off of Reading, not 3. Secondly, Devotary was apparently moved to vote on herself. @Kasimir is that a mistake? I would’ve assumed we wouldn’t learn that Devo’s vote was moved, though I may have misunderstood the rules a bit. Anyway, I’m going to go back through and look at the votes at some pivotal moments and see where players’ votes were to see what the goal of the vote manip might’ve been, but for now I’m just gonna do some preliminary analysis. We’ve got two options: 1) 2 soothers, each of them moving a vote that ended on Reading (whether or not it was their intention to move a vote off of Reading is up for debate), and a Rioter, who made Devo vote for herself; 2) 1 Soother who cancelled a vote on Reading and 1 Rioter that moved Devo’s vote and was also voting on Reading at the time. I think option 1 is far more likely, though I wouldn’t be opposed to considering option 2 as well. Anyway, this doesn’t make Reading look good at all, in my opinion.
  7. So, this to me makes it seem like you’d be okay with exing Books. But there’s also this, which I apparently forgot about.... I mean...okay, I can see what you were possibly trying to say...but also it just looks like you’re trying to keep your options open as much as possible. Like, keep another exe as a possibility to make sure you can not kill Books, but also making it not come out of left field if you decide to cut your losses and kill him. I might be tinfoiling now, but I will absolutely be looking at this D2 if Books flips elim.
  8. I was saying more like, you were saying you were gonna vote on Books later, but hadn’t yet. And you said that at the point where like, if you really thought they might’ve been suspicious, voting on them could help secure their death. So...it was just odd to me that you seemed to want to vote Books but didn’t vote on them. Like...it was as if you were waiting to see if the train on Books really got going before you committed to it. And it would give you an option later to be like “oh, well, another train came up that I liked better, so I’m not voting on Books since I can do that and still avoid a tie,” or to vote on Books later if the train did get going on him in order to get village cred. I’m not 100% sold on this, because you go on to talk yourself out of voting on Books later in this post. But like...if Books flips elim, I’ll be taking a look at you more closely.
  9. Okay. Interesting. Okay. Illwei, Books. Like Gears said, everything with them coming after me a whole bunch for something pretty minor and then forming an opinion out of nowhere as soon as they were questioned about something seems odd to me. Plus I’d like to ensure a lead on one candidate over the others. Ties hurt us (@Devotary of Spontaneity in case you didn’t realize that, seems like you were thinking ties exe someone, but they don’t), so I want to avoid ties as much as possible. Ties aren’t as fun if they don’t RNG or kill both players (I’m sad at you @Kasimir about that ) I mean...why not just vote? It seems odd to just...go like “hey I want to vote but nah I’ll wait.” Like...what’s the point in waiting if you want to place your vote there eventually? also there’s a random quote box with nothing in it down here and I’m on mobile and can’t get rid of it.
  10. First off: it’s not terrible reasoning. We both genuinely found her actions suspicious and found the way she was acting suspicious. I’m not even basing it off of the meta. Sure, I’m saying “here is some context,” but that’s not the primary reason I’m voting for her. Second: I still don’t think it was a good idea for Illwei to react like that to a new player voting for her and stuff. Like...bip came to those conclusions on her own while reading the thread. And making a big deal out of it all and voting on herself was a bit dramatic. Like...I don’t know, I’m not a fan of playing to emotions like that. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
  11. I just want to say: I think it’s okay to wait and vote until later in the game. Sure, you might be influenced by what other people did first. But at the same time...it’s D1. There’s not a whole lot to go off of at the start. It makes sense to want to wait and see what happened and then make a decision later in the game. And plus, we all know that half of these votes will probably change in the last hour of the turn anyway, as is the current trend of SE right now. I think you are getting far too defensive over something that isn’t as big as you think it is. Which, in general, I think a more reactionary, primarily defensive, attitude is an elim tell. Which is why my vote is remaining on you.
  12. Ouch, but that’s fair. I mean, yeah. I could see it. Could be a new player told to come in thread and act really new. Could also just be a new player with a very different play style. Also have to keep in mind that it’s not like they’ve never played mafia or anything before. They even said that they’ve played on other places before. Even if the way we do things here is a bit different, mafia is still mafia. I agree. Bippy does seem very good. I mean, Illwei seemed especially defensive in the last MR. and even ignoring that, her defensiveness now just feels...not necessary? Like, I can understand wanting to be defensive. If you’re being voted on, you want to defend yourself. But it just seems like she’s try to discredit people’s arguments against her rather than try and give reasoning for why they’re wrong. If that makes sense. Any reasoning why? Or is it just pure gut? It’s okay if it’s just pure gut. I think it’s that you’re an older player that none of the newest generation has interacted with. Older players that have been playing lately have at least played with the newer players, so even if the new players don’t get the older playerstyles, they can just say it’s that player’s quirk. I think a lot of the reaction to you so far is from you coming back after a hot minute.
  13. Glad to know both of us are very confusing and chaotic. Makes sense considering we’re brothers. Also, just want to say that everything Illwei is doing does feel elim-y to me still. I will be keeping my vote on her. I watched the last MR, and while this isn’t the only reason I’m voting on her, her current post style and almost...defensiveness for awhile there feels very similar to how she played in that game. Plus what she’s posted in this game already is enough to make me elim-read her. EDIT: to clarify: the things she’s doing in this game are the reason why I’m voting for her. The stuff with the last game is just the cherry on top to add context.
  14. This is basically what I was thinking. I didn’t even think anything of what I was saying was wrong. Which is partially because I was writing it all up in about 10-15 minutes while in a rush. ....you know, I’m not even surprised. This feels like something you’d do, regardless of alignment.
  15. Variel was looking through his ledgers in his house when he realized that he still owed Arenta 5 boxings. Lord Ruler, he thought to himself. Maybe I can find some way to get out of this.... Sometime later, Variel walked up the steps to Arenta's office [or wherever she currently is], dressed in one of his fanciest suits. When Arenta showed up, Variel put on his sweetest voice and said, "Hey, Arenta, how's it going? So, I know I still owe you from last time, but maybe we can work something out? Wanna hear a story instead? I've got plenty of those. I'm sure they're worth at least a boxing a piece." ~ Anyway, I do hope I can say something sensible at least once this game. Apparently so? I mean, I'm still getting bad vibes from you...but also the last time I stuck with my gut in regards to you you ended up being village. So hmmmm..... I'm sorry man. Was not my intention to hurt you.
  16. This stuff just gives me all of the bad vibes. Like...I understand joking about wanting people to PM and claim to you, but it just feels really forced to me. And the stuff about the elims already figuring it out and whatnot also feels forced. Like...trying to say “hey don’t worry about the elims figuring out roles because elims are just bad at that.” Illwei. Also, @Young Bard me getting exed early is indeed still a thing that happens.
