  3. Oh, sorry, I was following the things you pointed in out in each of my paragraphs. I was talking about how you said Aman made a post saying how he was pretty sure that Yitzi was an elim. Also, yeah, I can totally see that too. Also, thanks for the slight elim read, I guess? lol
  4. Okay, honestly, I never gave my thoughts on you or Yitzi because I've actually been very lazy this game. Besides for the pst couple days due to my trip, I've actually had plenty of time to analyze, I just haven't. It's mainly because this game has so many posts, it's daunting to go back and read through it all. My first true analysis post took me forever, and I only analyzed a few people. Most of why I changed my thoughts on Straw and Rand D2 was because of events that had happened since I'd last been suspicious of them, plus I felt others' arguments for them were stronger than those against them. Now of course, I've changed my mind on lynching Straw, mostly because of the bandwagon, and some better explanations than mine. I do realize how easy it would be for an elim to just ride on other people's votes and reasonings, and I'm trying to not do that, but it's so much easier to just follow everyone else. I am gonna try harder to make my own opinions, but don't expect too much lol Wait, Aman did that? I think I must've forgotten about that, whoops. But I don't see how that affects whether I'm an elim or not. I was confused as to why so many people wanted to lynch aster, and Aman answered really well in my opinion, so I decided to go with him. I later changed my vote to Yitzi because I think Aman made a better argument for him instead, and I trusted his judgment better than I did mine. Mostly because he was a claimed village role and he's way more experienced than I am. I definitely understand why people are so suspicious of me, but that's mostly just because I've been lazy. I'm sorry about that, honestly.
  5. Yes, thank you, I couldn't remember exactly how you phrased it, so thanks for saying it better than I could.
  6. I chose the first option, but I probably won't get it right as it releases. But I will read it super fast once I do get it.
  7. Well, that's the popular interpretation of that part of the first Oath. Another interpretation could be that you have to not balk at certain steps on your journey, such as killing someone. @Calderis explained this much better somewhere else, but I can't remember it very well.

    Ask Me Anything!

Which Cosmere book is your favorite, and why? (You can choose multiple) Who's your favorite Cosmere character? Have you read any non-Cosmere books from Brandon? If so, which ones? If you could do absolutely anything for one hour, what would you do?
  9. I'm both confused and slightly pleased with your fondness for toasters. You seem interesting. Have a random upvote!
  10. I LOVE Mistborn. It's my favorite Cosmere series, though I do really like Stormlight. The main reason I like Mistborn better is that I feel like every single book comes together to make this amazing story, and I absolutely love the characters from the story. I love the foreshadowing, the crazy plot twists, the amazing complexity to the magic system, and the awesome worldbuidling. Don't get me wrong, I really like Stormlight, and WoK and WoR are two of my favorite individual Cosmere books, but I feel that Mistborn, as of right now, is a much better series compared to Stormlight. Of course, as more Stormlight books come out that'll change, but for now my favorite of the two is Mistborn. Also, this is probably better suited to go in either the Cosmere Theories board or the General Brandon Discussion board.

  12. Yes, this looks amazing! I'm signing up. @Seonid Can I wait until the game starts to give my character? I want to design it based on whether I'm Alethi or Parshendi.
  13. Hey, welcome to the shard! Have an upvote and a spiked delicious cookie! Don't listen to @TeleWorms, the cookie is perfectly safe.... DISCLAIMER: Side effects include, but are not limited to, hearing voices, gaining supernatural powers, having the sudden urge to kill everyone, and completely losing control over your mind and body. That way, you'll understand the cookie joke.
  14. @Thanatos I upvoted you, because I agree with what @Calderis said. Just because you have a different theory than what is generally accepted does not mean you deserve to be downvoted. But I do think that you're taking the use of the word landscape a little too seriously here. I can definitely see each region/magic system have it's own sentience, but I'm a proponent of the theory that all of Sel is gaining sentience, not just the area around Elantris. Of course, whether this is due to each region gaining sentience or the entire planet itself gaining sentience is not explicitly confirmed, I guess.
  15. Sorry to butt in, but yes, it did come up in the QF. Also, sorry for not posting much. I have had access because of my hotspot on my phone, but I'm trying not to use it too much because I don't have unlimited data. I'm coming back home either late tomorrow or early Wednesday, so I'll post my thoughts on these last couple cycles then.
  16. No, the WoB specifies that the entire planet is becoming sentient, due to so much Investiture being shoved in the CR of Sel.
  17. Well, Sel is the name of the entire planet. Hmmm...I don't know that show, but I'm gonna say no, probably not.
  18. @hwiles (Also, ninja'd by @Calderis, so I'm not sure how much of my reply even works anymore ) Hmm...I think you misunderstood me. Yes, I do agree that they don't become resistant to heat simply by tapping their brassminds. But what I was saying is that, in extremely hot temperatures, they would just store all this excess heat that their body is feeling from the environment around them, basically creating brassminds with huge amounts of stored warmth that they could later tap that would be immune to (assuming they don't tap it too much to cause objects around them to catch on fire and hurt them), because I believe that you are immune to the effects of your own feruchemy (to an extent), but not necessarily how that feruchemy interacts with the surrounding world, if that makes sense. Also, I'm not sure why you mentioned only storing an attribute from one body, though I get what you're saying about it. The thing is, if your arm is on fire, there's nothing you can do about that. So that's why you'd have flame-resistant armor/clothing of some kind. You'd simply compound your heat so that your hands (which aren't coverred by the armor/clothing) are free to use to burn people. And I don't mean burn people as in creating fire to burn them, I mean burn them by making your hand so hot that it gives them severe burns from the heat if you hit/grab them.
  19. Yes, it most definitely is!
  20. Yes! I've been waiting so long to finally become a misting! My gosh, that took way too long. Also, I hope I'm a Slider, Pulser, or Coinshot. Any of those would be nice to have.
  21. Well, the leading theory, at least that I've heard of, is that a Shard actually either adopted Trell as a persona, or they planted the religion of Trell for them to come back and use later. (Very slight spoilers for White Sand) I'm pretty sure that magic systems, unless planned by a shard, are actually side effects of Investing in a planet. The same for the creation of godmetals, I believe. While Trell definitely could've been just piggybacking at first, I think it's likely they've Invested enough to create a new magic system, assuming Trellium actually is their godmetal. @The One Who Connects @Extesian @Calderis You guys wanna help with my WoBs and poke at my explanations?
  22. Yeah, that's part of what I'm thinking, but at the same time, how could Trellium have been lost? That would've required it to have been known at some point. But this got me thinking, if Trell is a shard, which most people think they are, then if Trellium is a god metal because this shard has Invested in Scadrial long enough for it to create a godmetal, does that mean that at some point, this shard would Invest to the point of starting another magic system on Scadrial?
  23. @Calderis Ah, okay. That makes more sense now. I'd misunderstood what @hwiles was talking about at first. My bad, that makes a lot more sense. Also, I meant to talk about this with the Brass Compounder earlier, but this guy would be so resistant to heat that'd it'd be crazy. They could always store it any excess heat in their brassminds and just use that heat for their compounding, except then they wouldn't be affected by it. And, when it's cold, they would just be tapping so much heat it wouldn't affect them either. Like Miles' loss of pain, or the effect bronze compounding would have, this person would basically lose their sense of temperature. Not as severe as the other two examples in my opinion, but they definitely wouldn't how some people could get hot/cold.
  24. Like you said, everyone has been wondering what the Lost Metal is. It feels too easy to be atium, especially with that plaque specifically calling it "The Lost Metal." Brandon either felt like forcibly shoving foreshadowing down our throats for that one scene, or that was put there to purposefully mislead us about what the true Lost Metal is. I'm willing to bet it's the second one, but who knows?
