You're welcome! You should really read AoL when you get a chance!

@Needtoknow Hey, welcome to the Shard! Have a free upvote and a spiked delicious cookie. DISCLAIMER: Side effects include, but are not limited to, hearing voices, gaining supernatural powers, having the sudden urge to kill everyone, and completely losing control over your mind and body. The Dark Alley™ claims no liability for any damage done to/by the eater of this cookie. Have you read Alloy of Law yet? It's the first book in a sequel series to the first Mistborn trilogy, set about 300 years after the events of Hero of Ages. In this series, Scadrial is in its industrial revolution, so allomancy and guns makes for exciting scenarios. Also, have you read Warbreaker? If not, you can find it for free on Brandon's website. Also, the little + spren thing is your rank. You can upvote people, which gives them rep. You get a new rank once you reach a higher amount of upvotes.

.....there are oatmeal chocolate chip cookies? How have I never heard of these before? If we're being technical here, oatmeal raisin cookies aren't my favorite, peanut butter cookies are.

[OB] The name of the Stone is the answer
StrikerEZ replied to SzethIsBadAsHell's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yeah, this is what I've always thought as well. There could be a deeper reason that Urithiru is considered holy, but I figure it's most likely just because it was soulcast/created.- 9 replies

@ejberkenpas22 Hey, welcome to the Shard! Have a free upvote and a spiked delicious cookie! Once you're done with Oathbringer, I'd recommend reading Warbreaker next. You can find it for free on Brandon's website. Also, did you know that there's a sequel series to Mistborn? It's set 300 years after the end of the first trilogy and it happens during the industrial revolution on Scadrial, the planet Mistborn takes place on. Guns+allomancy=awesomeness. For future reference, don't post multiple posts in a row. You can edit your previous posts instead. Also, try to keep specific book spoilers in spoiler boxes by pressing the little eye icon up by where you choose bold, italics, etc.

Thank you! It makes me really happy that so many people think this is good.

@Zellyia @Weltall There's actually a WoB I've seen somewhere where Brandon basically says that Adonalsium designed the Singers so that they would be able to interbreed with humans. I might be misremembering a WoB, but I'll go searching for the on I'm think of and post my findings later. EDIT: That was easy. It was the only one that came up by searching "interbreed" (keep in mind, it's paraphrased)

The Dark Alley™ claims no liability for any damage done to/by the eater of this cookie. How much do you know about the Cosmere? I assume you've discovered the coppermind and Arcanum. Personally, my favorite order of Radiants is either the Willshapers or Edgedancers. Willshapers for their surges and Edgedancers because I really like their oaths. I'd probably end up attracting a Cryptic though lol.

The only book that I can remember making me cry was The Way of Kings. The flashback right before Kaladin swears the second Ideal, when Tien dies...it made me think of my little brother and what'd it'd be like if he died and I just had to stop reading for a minute or two.

Thanks! That means a lot! Unfortunately, there (probably) won't be a lot more of this any time soon. I might mess around and try to get an idea for the first few chapters, but this is a story I want wait to write until I'm a much better author.

Guess That Cosmere Character! Forum Edition!
StrikerEZ replied to Kidpen's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
You're good. There's so much Cosmere stuff to remember, it's easy to get it all mixed up sometimes. -
I think these two WoBs will help you. OB SPOILERS^^^

@Zellyia Weltall already summed this up pretty well, but that WoB does not state that the Rosharan humans were on Roshar pre-shattering, just that the strain of humans on Roshar existed pre-shattering. The Horneaters and Herdazians came about after there was interbreeding between the humans and Singers presumably before the Desolation cycle began. Both humans and Singers existed pre-shattering, but only Singers were on Roshar pre-shattering.

Guess That Cosmere Character! Forum Edition!
StrikerEZ replied to Kidpen's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
She's Southern Scadrian in ethnicity, but she was born in Silverlight. My guess is Allriane. -
There's is a WoB that says tat, I know which one you're talking about. It also says that it would be really hard, and might not even work. Or if it does, the spren could break the bond.

Oops, yeah, that's what I meant Time to go edit. And thank you

@The Feruchemist @imriel452 got it kinda right. The plot to destroy Adonalsium didn't fail. We don't know the means that they used to destroy Adonalsium, but the 16 people (+ possibly Hoid and/or Frost) who became the original Vessels of the Shards were able to Shatter Adonalsium. All of this took place on Yolen, and will be explained in more detail in the series Dragonsteel, which Brandon is going to write eventually (that's a long way off though). Each of the 16 Shards has an intent (not capitalized @Dustbringer Lord, Intent means something different from Shardic intent) that relates to aspects of divinity. We know 10 of those 16 Shards, and 9 of their Vessels. They are: Ruin (Ati) and Preservation (Leras): These were the two Shards created Scadrial, the planet Mistborn takes place on. Their original Vessels were killed and the Shard has been taken up by Sazed, who is now the Vessel of Harmony. Honor (Tanavast) and Cultivation (unknown): These two were romantically involved, and travelled to the Rosharan system sometime shortly after the Shattering of Adonalsium. Honor was Splintered by Odium sometime after the Recreance, and his Cognitive Shadow (basically his soul) fused with the Stormfather. Devotion (Aona) and Dominion (Skai): These two Shards came to reside together on Sel. At some point early on in the Cosmere timeline, Odium Splintered them, but, since they were his first attempt at Splintering, he accidentally shoved their power into the Cognitive Realm on Sel, creating the Dor. Ambition (Uli Da): The Vessel of this Shard was a Sho Del, one of the two other species besides humans on Yolen (the Yolish species were humans, Sho Del, and dragons [which can shapeshift into human form; Frost, the oldest person in the Cosmere, is a dragon]). Odium mortally wounded her on Threnody, the planet where Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell takes place, but she was Splintered somewhere else. Odium (Rayse): Odium has been going around the Cosmere and Splintering Shards. What this does is break up the power of the Shard into many pieces so that no one can take up the Shard anymore. He has Splintered at least 4 Shards: Devotion, Dominion, Ambition, and Honor, though there may be more we don't know about. He is going around and Splintering Shards because he wants to be the most powerful being in the Cosmere, and he doesn't want to take up other Shards because that would change who he is and he likes how he is now. Ambition was at the top of his list because of her intent, but he couldn't find her at first, so he killed Devotion and Dominion first. Then he killed Ambition, then he got stuck on Roshar somehow and eventually killed Honor. Endowment (Edgli): Endowment is the Shard on Nalthis, which is where Warbreaker takes place. She is the one who gives Returned their Divine Breath. Not much else is known about her. Autonomy (Bavadin): Autonomy is the Shard on Taldain, which is where White Sand takes place. Autonomy has been known to make Avatars of herself across the Cosmere, such as on First of the Sun, where Sixth of the Dusk takes place. There's a helluva lot more stuff out there about this. You can find it by either going to the coppermind (the wiki), or to Arcanum (the archive for all of the quotes from Brandon Sanderson himself). Welcome to the Shard, and have fun discovering the Cosmere!

Random Stuff X: Something Weird
StrikerEZ replied to marsoupial's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Heyoooooo! And right around when I return, too! Welcome back! -
I don't think Hoid alone could do it. Like the last WoB @Weltall posted, The Shards themselves would have to do something to get their godmetals to work in allomancy/feruchemy.
-
No, Tanavast is the Vessel of Honor. Since Ati was the Vessel of Ruin, its godmetal was called atium. Preservation's Vessel was Leras, so lerasium. Weltall was just applying the same naming convention.

The only in-book thing we've seen from Autonomy (who is female, by the way (well, Bavadin is)) has been (OB SPOILERS) and when Khriss mentions her in the Arcanum Unbounded Taldain essay. Besides that, most of what we know about her and why we suspect Trell is Autonomy is through WoBs and theorizing.
-
@Fire&Water Hmm...I could see an argument for it being the Skybreakers' book. But that was only in Part 4, while Dalinar was the focus the entire book, even if he only learned some occasional Bondsmith-y stuff every now and then.
