  1. I think that would be a subdivision of the Brown Ajah (since Browns are concerned with all forms of knowledge.
  2. The extra power of Ruin was counterbalanced by Leras stealing a bunch of Ruin's power and turning it into the Pits of Hathsin. I can think of no reason for Saze to discontinue the pits, so that keeps the two powers equal.
  3. There's a quote somewhere were Wax mentions how Saze spoke of two extra metals and they have only found one. This confuses him because it seems to break the rule of 16. What he doesn't know, of course, is that it is atium that is the exception.
  4. He also mentioned that they didn't want to come back. Kel does.
  5. Maybe you can jump to any place in Shadesmar by visioning it, like you can with Tel'aran'rhiod.
  6. Yes. That's the whole basis of this theory.
  7. Nobody knows about chromnium yet, remember?
  8. The real question is whether the sword was part of Nightblood or created separately. If Vasher/Glorysinger created the Sheath after Nightblood was made, then that means that Vasher knows how to block the absorption of Breaths. If the sheath is part of Nightblood, created with him, then it is quite probable that only Nightblood can be blocked in this way.
  9. So i realized that while Brandon has specified that Vin and Elend won't be coming back, he never said anything about Kelsier. Considering that Kelsier has already come back from the dead three times (once when he escaped the Pits, once when he returned as OreSeur to found the Church of the Survivor, and once when he hijacked Preservation to speak with Spook), I thought it highly probable that he might return. What do you think?
  10. Good! +1!
  11. I think that the sheath blocks Nightblood's power to destroy things. Since he isn't executing his command when Blocked, he doesn't need breath. So i don't think this would work with Returned, at least not very well. I suspect it would put them in a coma until you took off whatever you put on them.
  12. I agree, but is that the way Brandon is using it?
  13. The Blades were pretty effective against a chasmfiend, and those are humongous.
  14. I think that Kandra do take a penalty from the spikes, sort of. What you have to remember is that they have no mind without the spikes, so there's no point of comparison. I think that if you could transfer the consciousness without Hemalurgy, the result would be better. And Brandon said in the annotations that they could resist Ruin long enough to pull out the spikes because they only had two spikes and the metal around the Homeland interfered with Ruin's control.
  15. I think that Adonalsium is Brandon himself. He is the power behind all the Shards and all the Shardworlds. So he splintered himself into various pieces to see what they'd do. Hoid, on the other hand, is the original Brandon conciousness wanderign around seeing what everybody's up to and reporting it to the Brandon who writes all this down. I await either your applause or your death by suprise.
  16. Mistborn are not drawing on Preservation when they burn atium either. They burn the atium directly. Logically, they ought to be able to do this with any substance of power.
  17. Have't we heard that mistborn will be reentering circulation soon? And there are still Seers. What will keep atium's power down a bit will be that there are now two metals to counter it. I imagine oracles will become very popular bodygurads once atium gets back it circulation.
  18. I think the only problem is that your ironmind would still keep you down. But good thinking!
  19. There have been some theories floating around that Odium and Honor were on the same side, fighting agaisnt some unknown Enemy. Perhaps Honor gave men the Plate and Odium gave the Blades.
  20. interesting theory. I still think it more probable that Regrowth is some variant on Stormlight healing, but i'm not totally sure.
  21. I think so. Note that atium shouldn't be in circulation by AoL, since the crystals have barely had time to regrow.
  22. Jekyll and Hyde did hate each other by the end. But Hyde hated getting killed for good more than becoming Jekyll, and Jekyll had no choice.
  23. He could always restore the balance by adding a bit more power to the atium-generation pool
  24. I endorse the theory that the atium crystals will eventually regrow, adding atium back into the next story.
  25. Alright, this thread is a repository for every theory you can come up with as to what Hoid was doing at the Yomen dinner. My own theory: Since we know that Mi'chelle is a Nalthis Worldhopper, (and Joshin may be a worldhopper to) and that this took place many centuries before Stormlight Archive, I conclude that Hoid was still part of/working with the 17th Shard at this point in time, and had merely come to celebrate a good friend's wedding. Of course, since he was in the neighborhood, he might have run a few extra errands (Such as hiding a note in Marasi's underwear drawer with directions to the Pits of Hathsin, nabbing a pet mistwraith named Steve, and spying on the Set's breeding programs to pass the info on to Marsh).
