  1. Nah, Venli/Eshonai feels more natural and we really need to see more of the Singers. Also, I already give a crap about Szeth...I want more interesting characters added not just greater focus on the current crew.
  2. Easy, the epilogue to Way of Kings: Of Most Worth
  3. Absolutely....like, its not even remotely close. It's literally people bending to their will the fundamental forces that shaped the universe; that is the coolest idea for a manic system ever and it works! It manages to be structured and surprising and mysterious all at once and its awesome how the scope and nature of the powers evolve as the characters and the story evolve. The fact that each Surge has a spiritual and physical component and the potential for combos and resonances just adds more depth. Even the term "Immortal Words" is awesome! Also that^
  4. Incredible. Moash's chapfers are those that I've reread the most number of times and I find him fascinatingly complex.....Really odd to see him described as boring or flat.
  5. It's made pretty clear that Nale: 1 Really likes Szeth 2 Doesn't care about or have any desire to spend his time hunting random criminals
  6. Sometimes a hypocrite is nothing more than a man in the process of changing. Law is light and darkness does not serve it. Ask and I will answer. -Nale is the Man. I will take responsibility for what I have done. If I must fall, I will rise each time a better man. -words that touched me personally. Now THAT is a worthy ideal. You tried to help the people of the market. You mostly failed. This is life. The longer you live, the more you fail. Failure is the mark of a life well lived. In turn, the only way to live without failure is to be of no use to anyone. Trust me, I've practiced. I love tradition. I've fought for tradition. I make my men follow the codes. I uphold Vorin virtues. But merely being tradition does not make something worthy, Kadash. We can't just assume that because something is old it is right. One can believe in a story without believing it happened. Plan every battle as if you will inevitably retreat, but fight every battle like there is no backing down. Every moment in our lives seems trivial. Most are forgotten while some, equally humble, become the points upon which history pivots. Like white on black. The question is not whether you will love, hurt, dream, and die. It is what you will love, why you will hurt, when you will dream, and how you will die. This is your choice. You cannot pick the destination, only the path. You Cryptics mimic … weird stuff? The fundamental underlying mathematics by which natural phenomena occur. Mmm. Truths that explain the fabric of existence. Some men, as they age, grow kinder. I am not one of those, for I have seen how the cosmere can mistreat the innocent—and that leaves me disinclined toward kindness. Some men, as they age, grow wiser. I am not one of those, for wisdom and I have always been at cross-purposes, and I have yet to learn the tongue in which she speaks. Some men, as they age, grow more cynical. I, fortunately, am not one of those. If I were, the very air would warp around me, sucking in all emotion, leaving only scorn. Other men … other men, as they age, merely grow stranger. I fear that I am one of those. I am the bones of a foreign species left drying on the plain that was once, long ago, a sea. A curiosity, perhaps a reminder, that all has not always been as it is now.
  7. Naruto Uzumaki - Stoneward: Dependable? Resourceful? Stubborn in the face of proven error? Check, check, check. As an adult though, he would absolutely be the Bondsmith. Character development and all that. Itachi Uchiha - Elsecaller: Wise, and careful, sog spren attracted to cold and stoic philosophical types? Yeah. Sai - Lightweaver: He is already an artist, his character is essentially based around the figurative and literal masks he has to wear as a spy, and his magic involves bringing what he draws to life....come on now! Kabuto - Lightweaver: Same as with the above really; he's a nameless spy who on a quest to define him nature. At one point he is even trapped in an illusion that he cannot escape until he accepts his personal truth....again, come on! Tobirama Senju - Skybreaker: He developed most of infrastructure for the hidden leaf village and was focused on guidelines, codes, and the rule of law. He also has the stoic demeanor down to a T. Minato Namikaze - Windrunner: My dude was ever the soldier and gave his life protecting his home. He believed that fighting led to pain and hatred but that it was his job to confront that hatred any way. Sasuke Uchiha - Dustbringer: We don't know a lot about these guys other than that they likely strived to be brave and obedient and that they had short tempers, were prone to violence and had destructive flame based magic. Sasukes oaths would likely focus on becoming more obedient and less of a rogue, naturally.
  8. 1. NALE 2. Moash 3. Taravangian That's about it. Odium bores me now that we know he is actually "Passion" and appears as an old granddaddy. Let's see how interesting the Fused are when fleshed out and see what Odium has to show.
  9. And this is why no one else should wield Nightblood.
  10. https://youtu.be/5PsnxDQvQpw Is it alright if I leave this here? This is why I think Kalak was chosen relative to the other Heralds.
  11. I just want to ask a question: when Moash absorbs stormlight he feels his Passion returning....the heck does that mean? Can he now feel emotions normally and take action as he pleases?
  12. Biologically? Early 30s.
  13. Yeah Kaladin was pretty perfectly used. He got to be his usual awesome self and progress as a character while not overshadowing anyone else or stealing any spotlight. I know he is always jokingly called brooding and a humorless workaholic but this book finally provided a perfect summation Kaladin's presence: I gave you that granite will, that warrior's poise! Now that's an awesome description of Kaladin. He always seems so competent and professional when he's on the job. And of course I have to include Kaladins flawless reply: Ten spears go to battle," he whispered, "and nine shatter. Did the war forge the one that remained? No, Amaran. All the war did was identify the spear that would not break. I dislike his handling of Moash and Sandersons handling of Kaladins treason. It's odd cowardice from Kaladin and i hate that he will experience no consequences for his actions in WoR...
  14. Yeah, I was against it......until this book. When the windspren surged around Kal as he was blocking the highstorm winds i got pumped for shardplate to form. The fact that Windrunners gain plate with their 4th oath and that Kaladin started drawing windspren in Shadesmar while attempting to grasp the 4th oath is too big to ignore. He attracts windspren even when there is no wind. Then we have Dalinar causing glory spren to appear around others more easily and attracting a massive number after speaking the oaths.
  15. I dont thinks its become too much. Dalinar was a perfect centerpiece with his struggle to uderstand his journey and speak the words combined with the light of his power bringing the heroes together. My favorite Avalanche is actually the Elantris avalanche...it was awesome.
  16. Seems a good place to ask...if the Fused are almost always invested, how does Kaladin Last them so easily? Did I miss something?
  17. So Tanavast likely sacrificed something that prevented him from being able to fight his Shards influence? Interesting. Do we know if his cognitive shadow merged with Stormfather after his death? Can you even function without your cognitive shadow?
  18. I'm more interested as to why he started losing his humanity at the end....
  19. There must be equalizers, right? So I have to assume that Percy is (heavily) Invested and that Riptide (made from celestial bronze) can block a Shardblade. With that said, full strength Percy wins. He doesnt need to fight to kill to do so. Few things, Percy: - Has cut bullets out of the air - Has run up against hundreds of enemies and come out on top. This includes an immortal regenerative army of undead wraiths, a battalion of armed and armored demigods, and Hades own army of soldiers picked from across time. - Can Bloodbend....seriously - Can summon water, including calling up tsunamis (I'm sure there's water enough in the caverns of the plains) - Is invunerable (!) @Vissy Percy fought a 30ft tall giant and was able to hop and stab him in the chest if that makes you feel better
  20. I have no idea and I'm glad for it. I used to be a fan of Taravangian but he gave up...he may have another mad genius day that causes him to betray Odium though. Ishar is a good choice I would have it but Navani is a good match for the Sibling. Not true.
  21. Kelsier whoops that wind walking behind.
  22. The book is Tigana.....and it's amazing. Really beautifully writfen. Lets see how successful Kaladin is at stopping him. Vyre won't be as big a pushover as Amaran, I think.
  23. I loved the salute. It was just a sign to show that he has no beef with Kaladin.
  24. As Brandon would say, he has to have something to write about in future books. We need to know this and why he abandoned Hoid to kill a man...
