Or it could be that they saw the cycle, The KR rise, the VoidBringers Rise, Desolation comes, they did a master strike to kill all the Parshendi, (fail to kill all) then abandon their oaths to prevent future desolations.

I like it, but a few things, one; another desolation wouldn't cut it, this would have to be something bigger...say a desolation without the heralds maybe? two; did the recreance happen all at once? I remember seeing some speculation about that somewhere... But nice! I really like these ideas!

Is Allomancy really of Preservation
Droughtbringer replied to Brightshade the Cunning's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Okay then, let's break this down in a different viewpoint...using math. Hemalurgy is obviously Ruin, no problem there. So discussing allomancy: x + y < z where is the ruin? If this is of ruin, and we are basing this off of the intent, but there is no degredation of power, there is no sacrifice. The metal, and the user are increasing their power. Now feruchemy X = Y the ruin comes at storing, imagine if you got stuck storing any of the metals, gold; constantly sick, steel; really slow, etc. would you not consider yourself ruined? But you are actually preserving the power, able to call it back at a later date, with the exact same preserved power. Finally, at the AU release party someone asked Brandon about how Ruin could mess with the prophecy while it was in someones metalmind, Brandon said that because Feruchemy is partially Ruins power when someone draws from it, during that short transfer of power Ruin can mess with it. Conclusion: I like your ideas, keep at it, some time one these obvious thing that everyone accepts will suddenly fall away under close scrutiny and change the world...cosmere....website? (Idk what to say it will change) -

Ideal Clarification in Edgedancer
Droughtbringer replied to Capt. Goradel's topic in Stormlight Archive
You also have the fact that as a light Weaver you only have the first oath, and the rest are just truths -
Welcome human! (I think you are a human, correct me if I am wrong) I am DroughtBringer/Sasooner (Most people still know me as the latter, recent name change) Don't worry about the Tech change in MistBorn, at first it threw me off but it turned out amazing, Good job being a human (probably) Hi!

Brandon said that the pairing human-spren is based by Human's preference Hadn't noticed that, but as above I'm wondering if the bond to lift changed Wyndle on a fundamental level, we see Syl change and grow at her own command, and also we see Wyndle saying "I could have lived quietly, helping him, making shoes. I could have done an entire display of shoes!" Is very, very first person, implying that it was still Wyndle. (this discussion talks more about the spren thing http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/55050-spren-pairings/#comment-458213) -

We may not have a different spren to compare to...But we do have the same spren to compare to! "Did you know we were considering bonding this nice cobbler man instead of you? A very kindly man who took care of children." Hmm...Cobbler, helping children...sound familiar? Ym!!! "Specks of light, like those from a piece of crystal suspended in a sunbeam...When it stopped light crept upward from it, like small plants growing or climbing from their burrows." That is, in fact, Wyndle! Only seen through some one else's eyes. (I Remember reading somewhere that if the person a spren bonds to dies, the spren goes into shock, but can still bond some one else) -
The Shardkeepers Podcast: Corrupted Investiture and Nightblood
Droughtbringer commented on Chaos's article in Shardcast
Well as far as the whole Nightblood = HonorBlade question: As I was talking to Brandon at the Ogden signing we talked a bit about how HonorBlades work, and we ended up talking about Nightblood a bit, the conversation played out kinda like this: I asked what would happen if you got an honorblade of the same surges that you could use as a Knight Radiant, he said that it would increase your power marginally, but would also increase your Stormlight required by a LOT. I then asked what if one person bound all 10 HonorBlades, Syl said that just one made it require a "Dangerous amount of Stormlight" so would this be able to kill you? He responded saying that the HonorBlades were specifically designed as to not take your innate Investiture (the stuff that keeps you alive) and that another blade in the Cosmere was not designed with that in mind. (NightBlood) I don't remember much else he said, I couldn't record because my phone was being weird But looking at the amount of Investiture required they seem to be of similar amounts, with Nightblood literally not having a limit to the amount of Investiture that he can take, this brings up the question, What can Nightblood actually do?- 9 comments

What makes a Honor Spren, and a Wind Spren cousins? The intent of the wind, and the intent of honor seem to be quite different. Wind wants to blow, and honor wants to stay steadfast to beliefs, and what is alright. So what would allow these spren to be considered cousins? What we know: Wind Spren and Honor Spren = Cousins Spren are splinters of Shards. Spren are given existence by human thought. Theory: The only thing that I can think of that would allow Wind and Honor spren to be cousins, is if they both are wind spren, only with different amounts in investiture, or different sizes of splinters inside of them. This would mean that Honor Spren are just Wind Spren that have changed by a splinter of Honor, this larger splinter allows them to first: Have sentience, and Second: Bond with humans. If this first theory is true, then what would happen if a normal spren got a large sprinter of Odium? This would create another type of spren, one that, instead of surge binding, would allow voidbinding to happen. So, what if Storm Spren are just Wind Spren with Odium Splinters?

New character in Edgedancer [Edgedancer Spoilers]

What if all cremlings are Sleepless? The variance in types of cremlings come, not from region, but from a different Sleepless being the 'Mind' of them? -

Once I saw speculated that the surge of adhesion would allow something similar to a force push, think back to when Kal said the oath during the last bridge run, he was literally knocking people off of their feet.

What's YOUR Talent?
Droughtbringer replied to Silus - Shard of Flame's topic in Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians
My Talent would be hitting my head on EVERYTHING. I already do that, but with a talent it would be more like someone swings a sword at me, I accidentally slam my head into the hilt of the sword, then send the sword careening out of their hand. Someone trying to shoot a gun at me? I hit my head on a conveniently placed pipe, fall to the ground, and get missed. Going on a date? Conveniently slam my head on the car as I go to pick the date up, and end up going to the emergence room. -

Lord Ruler, Lie Detector? (Mistborn Spoilers)
Droughtbringer replied to twicetested's topic in Mistborn
From the Mistborn Adventure game, Alloy of Law Expansion if you are a Tineye Misting you can get the trait: Combine this with fact that he could have stored Smell Sight and Hearing in a TinMind, massive amounts thanks to compounding, he could easily use this ability to tell whether or not you are, in fact, lying. -
Welcome! If you have read through every Cosmere story, then you are about to have some serious fun, I have no idea how long you have been lurking here, but I hope that you will contribute, and enjoy theory-ing. Welcome to the Shard, and don't take cookies!

Agreed. Also welcome the the shard! Do not except cookies, please...they are ruined...just don't.... Have a look around the website, find some theories, make some, eat some, etc. What do you enjoy doing? Do you write, play video games, eat a lot of food, bake a lot of food, eat a lot of things that aren't food but look like food, eat a lot of thing that don't look like food but are food, eat a lot of things that aren't food and don't look like food, etc. You will oft find me writing these days, or eating (for what see above), maybe some light saber sparring, etc. I hope you enjoy your time on the shard!

Its a good idea, yet it might have something else to do with shardic intent, it could be that some shards more directly appose Odium, like Honor, and other shards are going to try to hide to continue their work, also it could be what @1stBondsmith said.
