  1. I think he interpreted the first WoB as "more than 16 god metal alloys per god metal," which makes sense both from the questioner side and the answerer side.
  2. Probably not. The fact that hemalurgy requires metals is an inherent part of hemalurgy, as a result of the junction between the intent of the shard forming it, Ruin, and the nature of the planet it is formed on, Scadrial.
  3. First of all, could you indicate where it has been theorized that the Unmade existed before Odium arrived on Roshar. I still haven't heard anything which supports that, other than your claim of its name, yet at the same time you say it's been well debated so a link would be great/ Secondly, I think your timeline is a bit incorrect, if I'm reading it right. I'm under the impression that the Listeners took on the forms of power from Odium in response to the spren choosing humans and bonding with them. As such, your claim that the Unmade gave them powers before the Heralds gained Honorblades and the creation of the Knight Radiants seems off. Also, your timeline says that Honor is killed before the Knight Radiants form, which while may possible, it seems to be more widely held that Honor didn't die until around the Recreance at least, which is centuries after the Final Desolation. Could you expand on that? Of course we've seen powerful splinters that are sentient on non-human, that is the basic definition of a splinter; splinters are a sentient piece of Adonalsium's power.
  4. You can do that with brass as well. As I think Breeze said, the zinc and brass can basically do the same thing, just by using opposing effects.. You can calm someone with brass by soothing their unease, or use zinc to riot their ease. I think.
  5. This does operate under the assumption that it is possible to tap and store the same attribute at the same time. We haven't seen anything which refutes or supports that theory, but if it is possible, and the measure of feruchemical strength is efficiency, then I have a theory for practically infinite feruchemical strength for a full feruchemist using a single hemalurgic spike.
  6. Allomancy isn't adding energy to the universe. It's just moving energy from an another source, Preservation's main pool of investiture, into the allomancer, when they burn metals. Afterwards, the investiture returns to Preservation. Also, investiture doesn't have entropy, in theory.
  7. Right. Where does it say that he existed before then? It sounds familiar, so I'm sure you're right, but I can't recall exactly where it said that.
  8. The Stormfather is Tanavast's cognitive shadow, the vessel of Honor, so he couldn't have existed before H&C arrived on Roshar.
  9. Density would change, except magic makes it so that it doesn't. So tapping and storing mass keeps your density constant.
  10. No, but I just thought that the gods were shards since the songs of the Listeners seemed to imply that the gods gave them the forms, which seems to me to be referring to the creation of form-changing spren by shards. Since not all the forms of gods are forms of power, which I feel like that is what the Unmade gave them, then I feel like it shows how the gods aren't just of Odium, which is why I thought that Honor, at least, was a god as well to give warform. Honestly though, I never really thought about the Unmade as being the gods referring to in the songs. However, I'm reading carefully over the songs again and paying attention to the references to the gods. I'm noticing now that there are fairly darker connotations in most points. So it does make some sense that the gods are the Unmade. This would mean though then that the Unmade created spren for forms other than the forms of power, which I find interesting. Also, it was said that Gavilar was trying to bring back the gods of the Listeners? If that's the case then I agree that it is pretty probable that the Unmade are the gods.
  11. I was under the impression that the Listeners' gods were the Honor, Odium and Cultivation. In the song, a few forms are not referred as being of gods, so I'm assuming they bond with spren from before shards came to Roshar, giving forms such as workform, mateform and dullform. The god forms, the first god forms, were of Honor and Cultivation, who created spren which they could bond to, giving new forms such as warform and nimbleform. Finally, there are the other god forms, the forms of power such nightform, decayform, smokeform, and stormform, given by their new god, Odium, after they turned to him.
  12. That WoB suggests it, but at the same time it could also be taken to be just referring to the theoretical values of how Feruchemy. In theory, Feruchemy would have that 100% efficiency. In any case, I still see in my WoB that he is understanding the meaning behind the question at the end, since he's talking about efficiency, which wouldn't have to do with hemalurgic decay of the charge. Overall though, I agree that what feruchemical strength means is unclear, and it would be nice if we could ask Brandon for a clear answer regarding it.
  13. Possibly. Don't forget though that when Rashek ascended and fiddled with the planet he rendered most of the world inhabitable, with the main exceptions being the area of the Final Empire and the South Pole. While it's likely that we will see some spread come Era 3, we already know that in Era 2 that not much is settled outside of the Elendel Basin, which means the only real source for spread at that point is from the Southern Continent. They have airships though so they may have spread a fair bit. Overall though, I doubt that we'll see any cultures radically different than that of the Basin or the South, since there just aren't enough seeds and not enough time for those shifts to occur.
  14. Weepings are only 4 weeks long, around the first and last 2 weeks of a year. Also, every other weeping has a highstorm in the middle so I think overall that it can be said that every month does have at least one highstorm. Nonetheless, your other points about the number nine do make sense. Would possibly make sense to be Odium's number since he was likely influencing the Heralds and Radiants to some slight degree.
  15. My interpretation when I read it was: "She was a Lurcher, and could be aware of most surrounding metals by simply burning iron." I never actually thought it to be that she was actually typing the metals as well. It's possible that she can recognize metal types, but since Wax can't do it, it would have to be a property lurchers only have, which I don't see as being the case considering how close iron and steel allomancy are. Interesting thought overall, I'll need to mull it over.
  16. [WoB] Few thoughts. A. How has it been determined that Unmade likely existed pre-Odium and someone became splinters of him later on? I know you don't want to discuss this so a link to pertinent topics is okay. a. and II. Splinters usually have their own intent, in addition to that of their respective shard. I suppose this means that, in theory, a splinter could eventually have two opposing intents, which could mean they could no longer be largely influenced by the intent of their shard. Also, I believe slivers are a lot less affected, to near negligible degrees, by the intent of whichever shard's investiture caused them to become a sliver. Can't say for certain since I haven't read SH. [WoB] Last thing. Please fix the sliver error you have so that you are correctly labeling the Unmade as splinters. That would possibly change a point or two, definitely the one involving Kelsier.
  17. Fair enough. I checked and you are correct, somewhat. According to the annotations, Treledee is straying between truths and lies: Still, this doesn't change my initial point about Siri not going to have Susebron's child. While the priests do know how to make a Returned sire a child, following specific steps, by all indications they aren't that interested in sharing or using that procedure, so I don't see why they would change their minds on that, especially since they already have a baby Returned.
  18. I don't quite think that's how it is. There's a WoB, which contains Elantris things, so spoilers.
  19. Ah, fair enough. Yes, that would be effective. Invisible weapons which stop them from healing would put a stop to them really quickly.
  20. Funnily enough, we had another topic covering this exact subject a short time ago: The common opinion and conclusion was that the Honorblades granted superior abilities to the Heralds, and granted greatly subpar abilities to anyone who wasn't the Herald it was created for. In other words, each Honorblade was designed to be used by a specific Herald, but a design flaw allowed someone who wasn't that Herald to gain an extremely limited amount of power. So, overall, Heralds with their Honorblades probably were magnitude times stronger than a KR, and Ishi probably did have the power to enforce order. We just don't see that power with Szeth because he wasn't a Herald. Also, it has been strongly implied that Heralds have other abilities.
  21. I've been under the impression that allomantic strength related to the ratio of investiture to metal burnt, not the burning speed. However, I don't recall any WoBs or anything in the book which said so. In any case, the WoB you quoted seems to vaguely support that, that Wax gets more investiture from the same amount of metal, that it really could mean anything.
  22. Fair enough. You didn't need to sum up your entire opinion on the topic's matter. That just made for a giant tangent.
  23. 29 hours since the last question was posted. Does this mean @AliasSheep wins and posts another? I'll be honest though, I don't really understand the question.
  24. Yes, exactly. It's just a nitpick I have to make often enough because people always seem to say that Vasher was trying to hide the knowledge of awakening steel, which is incorrect. Okay, I found something here. The Warbreaker annotation for Chapter 54. I was incorrect about Nightblood having a bad memory. It can live and grow and understand new things. However, based on what this annotation is saying, it's more like Nightblood simply ignores any memories which would contradict its initial memory state. So since it imprinted Shashara being alive and Denth and Vasher being non-hostile to each other, it cannot accept anything else. So basically, it has the neural condition which people can have where they believe something is so true, it rewrites and/or ignores past memories to maintain that self-perceived truth. Regarding memory changing. I believe it was said that Vasher tampered with the priest's daughter's memories by giving her breath, right after they freed her. That seems to imply that it is somehow related to awakening, and also that it requires transferring breaths. As a result of that second point, I don't think it is possible for Vasher to mess with Nightblood's memories in the same manner, unless he can somehow transfer breath to him. The biggest difference between Nightblood and Sprenblades (Shardblades from Spren) is more that Nightblood was made using awakening trying to enumerate what spren had become using the specific investiture of Roshar.
