Lol, that's the thing @Pagerunner I'm starting to think I imagined it. I saw someone else post it and while looking for it now I think I'm going crazy. Thanks for the link!

Does anyone else remember the WoB that a Herald with their Honorblade would allow them to do things beyond what a normal Radiant could? I can't find it by searching the Arcanum here and am starting to think I imagined it.

Also something to think about is Dalinar caught Szeth swinging once. Shardbearers tend to be kinda lazy with their swings because it easily cuts everything. He may not have swung as hard as he could.

Where do you guys research your WoBs? I could swear I saw one a year back or so saying a Herald with an Honorblade is going to be able to do much more than a normal person with it. I've been searching the Arcanum here for tags, Heralds, Herald, Honorblade, and on and can't find it. Does anyone else remember this quote? This has been sticking in my head lately, due to my perceived foreshadowing that Nale and Szeth will fight. I wonder how it would look because Nightblood was described by the Nightwatcher as a "sword that cannot be defeated". Nightblood told Szeth that he could show him that Nale's sword was nothing and let him show him how.

I would guess no. The Mistborn or Misting isn't an Elantrian so they can't channel the Dor. Even if an Elantrian burned Lerasium I think burning the metal wouldn't be effected by said Aon.

Guys, I disagree the Fused landed and saluted Renarin because they recognize Glys is corrupted. I feel this was just them acknowledging him and kinda being like, "Hello child, come to die?" While fighting on the Shattered Plains before Eshonai saluted to Dalinar and I believe when Kaladin jumped in to fight they also nodded like, "Well, you have powers. We have numbers and Warform. Let's do this then, we look forward to a quality fight."

I've been listening to The Shardcast, S/O @WeiryWriter. But thinking about the Unmade, Odium, Dalinar's trip, and even Mistborn: Secret History. Is Dalinar a special case of a Bondsmith that he is Connected to both Honor and Odium? Was Odium able to influence, torment, and speak to all Bondsmiths like this? Is this only because Honor is dead now? The Nightwatcher (point contended here in Shardcast) seems to say Dalinar is both of Odium and Honor. When thinking about Kelsier in SH: While visiting the Thaylens Dalinar felt the Thrill despite the idea that Radiants should be immune to its abilities. Then later Odium just split the Stormfather away and isolate Dalinar and attempt to infuse him with the Thrill. These kinda seems like things Odium just shouldn't be able to do. Anybody have any thoughts?

"I did it last time!" - "Last time you were the bow you flinched and made me go wide. I told you, I'm all time bow now." "You can't do that!" - "I just did! Go!" I find this idea hilarious. Have an upvote!

Super late to the party here, but here goes! Have you guys considered maybe this is why the budding Radiant Bondsmith Gavilar chose his path? He has obviously been studying the histories and knows more than most. Maybe with aid of the visions he noted that those Radiants were Radiant in a time of mostly peace. By combining this with his urge to unify Alethkar through force he has decided that if those Radiants were not left to petty squabbles and were actually defending Roshar they wouldn't have just up and quit. They had incredible powers but essentially nothing to do with them except trying to go hunt down the Unmade that for some reason were not locked back on Damnation (maybe something to do with the Heralds abandoning Taln).

Woah, I really like this theory. It's a good dig, but how do we explain that when Venli saw the storm roll up she saw two spren? Shouldn't there have been a third then? I always assumed it was Odium personally directing the storm as he saw fit.

How would Evolution be different from Cultivation? These seem to be twin intents. Same with Creation and Ingenuity. Unity because of what Dalinar said? He's bonded to a large splinter of Honor, so I don't see how it could be a new Shard. He could maybe change the intent as he collects enough pieces to reassemble Honor but it would still leave us a Shard short of 16.

I've seen it postulated before on the forum that Hoid alloyed out the bead to make himself a Misting. I think it's just just as simple as Hoid burned it and Brandon enjoys being coy and letting us overanalyze all of his quotes.

[OB] when did you realize who was vivenna?
Naurock replied to king of nowhere's topic in Stormlight Archive
Thanks @Calderis. I don't have my book on me. Butit was like just a few paragraphs when she says she's not from Roshar. I was too wrapped up in the Shardblade mystery that I completely overlooked the color metaphors. It doesn't help that Warbreaker was the third Sanderson book I read, after I read the first SA books. Then I dove into Elantris, Mistborn and such. So I was a little rusty on Nalthian mannerisms. -
To me Mistborn always seemed like it would be best portrayed as an anime. Freakish Inquisitors, Koloss, Kandra and just how the magic works.

You forgot when her hair changed colors. That's when I got it. -
I wish I could upvote this more than once.

[OB] Will Shallan ever find a good (girl) friend?
Naurock replied to Dreamstorm's topic in Stormlight Archive
@Jofwu I agree to a point and that's why I liked the original list, because I never really noticed this either. Sarene is the most egregious example. But Steris and Marasi are hard, because they have a deep reason why their relationship why could never progress. Marasi is a constant reminder of her father's indescretion. Steris is a constant reminder of the life Marasi could have had. So the conclusion we must draw is there are two possible options: Brandon does not know how to do girl talk or he just likes writing strong, independent women who are on a journey of self discovery. -
[OB] Will Shallan ever find a good (girl) friend?
Naurock replied to Dreamstorm's topic in Stormlight Archive
While this list makes it look really bad, if you dissect it a bit I think it's easy to explain. 1) Sarene was sent to marry a guy in a different country and did build a small group of friends, but was she supposed to bring a gaggle of girls with her? 2) Vin was an orphan, in a thieving group. They were friends, but... It was completely everyone for themselves. 3) Vivenna ran away and brought a friend, granted a guy. 4) Siri, this was Brandon's choice to isolate her. Put her in over her head and she had to figure out who she could trust on her own. 5) Good Lord, get Shallan ANY help. She needs it. 6) Marasi kinda chose this path herself wouldn't you say? She wanted to be in a male dominated career field to prove her worth. And she's done that! She's become stronger, found herself and is making her own way. -
Holy cow, this is the first time I've seen that timeline. I feel I'm gonna need a weekend, lots of coffee and my copy of AU next to me to go through all those tabs.

He swallowed a gem which was then inhabited by the Unmade Yelig-Nar. I have paperback so Chapter 95. Transforms any voidbringer, perhaps the powers of all Surges compounded into one.

So I've been kicking around in my head for awhile some music of the Cosmere and their characters. I messaged @Chaos about this and he said as long as I spoilered the lyrics and tagged the thread as explicit it should be ok. It is kinda hard to find music that doesn't have cursing in it, to fit this violent galaxy, but I was wondering what everyone else thought. So I read the original Mistborn trilogy awhile back, and then heard this song and it immediately attached itself to the first era Mistborn in my head. It's My Name is Human by Highly Suspect. Lyrics: Dalinarar from Oathbringer in his early years is incredibly murderous and the song Scream Aim Fire from Bullet For My Valentine seems to fit him well. Lyrics: The last one in for Kaladin and also kind of a joke. How to Save a Life by The Frey. Lyrics: Thoughts? Any other characters you have in your head? Disagreements, maybe you think of different songs? Am I the only person that matches music to books they read? Hope no one is offended by the songs picked.

Does anyone else get the feeling that in future books we're going to have to get used to a lot of Shadesmar? Possibly waging wars there alongside spren? I get this feeling after rereading the chapters on Notum's ship, I think it wasn't Kaladin had the feeling that those ships were made for Radiants to sail beside their spren. They mention strongholds at Cultivations perpendicularity. Notum says he is going to take them to the spren city Lasting Integrity to "someone with more authority". Who is this "authority?" Any guesses?
