Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Elenion replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
This echoes my views: active players are more likely to help us than inactives, but inactives appear to be equally likely to be converted. I think it's time that we got some votes down on the field. Therefore, I suggest dropping some poke-votes to see who's active and who's not. Hey Jefry, are you alive? @jefrywlfersn If you respond I'll remove my vote. Just in case it helps anyone with their village/neutral projections, I'm a vanilla Explorer.- 980 replies

*laughing* I've never heard it described quite like that before.

Going off of #6... Organized crime.

Be it known that officially, from this post onward, the game is hurt 2/heal 1! Hurt Preservation, heal Honor 3. Preservation: 29 6. Honor: 20

This wasn't my thought process at all: I actually enjoyed being an elim. I interpreted my role to be that of a double-agent: I could choose to either play straight elim or be a worm secretly working for the village. I ran the probabilities and projected that working for the village gave me a higher chance of winning, so I took that route. I thought at the time that it was expected for someone of my role to work with the village at least to some extent, having not played a game with a traitor mechanic before. And then it turned out that I broke the game, but I went with my projections anyway.

Yes, you must wait 2 posts/10 minutes before you can make a no-vote post again. Since it doesn't really affect the game at all, no punishment should be necessary, but if that becomes a problem I'll make one up. I'm cool with Hurt 2/Heal 1, but I won't start doing that until a few others say they're fine with it as well. Hurt Preservation, heal Honor, bring balance back to the Cosmere. 3. Preservation: 25 6. Honor: 25

When you reference me, can you call me Len? El is Elbereth's nickname, and it throws me for a loop whenever I'm called that. But on-topic, I think that for the Forsworn to be effective we did need some sort of coordination, although not nearly as much as we had. Something that I think would have worked is if we each retained the identities of the players next to us, and relayed information about our roles only around the PM-loop. Had we done this, I would have known about Mage as the Arcos and Jondesu as the Fabii, but wouldn't have known the identities of our Julii or our Bellona, or that Bugsy started with a Blade or that Wonko had a PulseShield. That lack of info would have dissuaded me from turning: I only did at the time because I knew exactly who and what we had (or a least I thought I did, *cough* Lopen *cough*) and was confident that I could beat them with village help.

Judging by the note on preserving the balance, the post looks like it had a no-change for a reason, i.e. a no-vote. But, from the rules that I posted at the start, I'll count Stark's post as a post but no vote, and so Secrets' vote stands. Hurting Preservation and Healing Honor, we now have 3. Preservation: 25 6. Honor: 25

Hurt Preservation, heal Honor 3. Preservation: 256. Honor: 25

And I would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for you meddling kids! [ignore this for game purposes]

At least in SE, you're the Arcos who pretty much single-handedly destroyed the village in MR17. Have fun living that one down.

(and @RippleGylf) I got one too, sophomore year with all 36s! Some of that I'm pretty sure was luck, though. -
*groans* Now that one was just bad. What do you call it when a ballerina falls into a lake? A pirou-WET!

@Assassin in Burgundy knows how to use those. He should be able to help you.

*rolls up sleeves* *jumps into the melee* @iceblade44 We're hurting/healing by 2 now that it's the last 2 contestants. Your post should be Preservation 27, Honor 23. Hurt Preservation, heal Honor 3. Preservation: 25 6. Honor: 25

Here's my setup for when I GM Star Wars: Edge of the Empire. Prepare for a monologue! First off, we set pretty much everything up on a long table. The GM gets the head of the table, a player gets the other head, and 2 can sit on each side on wooden benches. Each of the players use folders to keep their stuff together (when I'm a player, mine has a character sheet, talent and signature ability trees, a copy of my backstory, and a basic index of actions, maneuvers, and check difficulties). At the head of the table, I put up the GM screen to use for reference and to hide my notes. As a GM I don't use technology most of the time; but instead have a packet for possible storylines (I account for multiple paths to success), a sheet full of NPC stat lines that I've crafted for the adventure, and maps of locales I think the PCs will visit. On the wall is a whiteboard, and that's where the real gameplay happens. Each PC has their own icon with magnet, and so the players can move their icons wherever they wish their character to go. There are also magnetic icons for NPCs so they can get in on the fun of movement and cover. Next to the NPC icons are written any necessary notes showing stats like remaining HP, speed, and number of enemies if they're in groups. When the players move to a new location, the board is erased and a new rough map of what the PCs can see is drawn on the board. The whiteboard has an entire left side devoted to gameplay variables: there are spots for initiative order, time of day, and extra spots for any other ongoing notes that I need to make. Usually one of the more-experienced players (I tend to do this if I'm not GM-ing) will act as secretary to do things like running initiative and moving icons at the order of the GM. While the diagramming of movement and combat happens on the whiteboard on the wall, the mechanics are carried out at the table. In the center of the table are the piles of dice. They are in the middle so all players can roll checks at my whim; if I need to roll a check for an NPC I'll just ask one of the players to roll it for me; or in the case of a secret check I'll walk around, grab what I need, and roll them behind the GM screen. Also in the middle are any extra gameplay items: maps that the PCs have collected, Destiny Points, trackers for wounds and strain; everything that the players need access to. If a rules question is brought up, the bookcase behind the GM side of the table holds pretty much every rulebook made for the game, ever. The problem is finding out which one has the stats for the blaster you want to buy.

Conq went to I-dunno-where a while back, but gave me the info with which to run his character. The other of our players is an NPC. However, the time that I would be doing this has been taken up by me GM-ing a Star Wars dice-based RPG with my friends. I'm still alive, just distracted. We'll attempt to wrest the cave we found from goblin control once I get the time. I don't know where we are relative to your tower.

My primary goal is always my win-con. If I'm fully on your team you have nothing to fear from me except long PMs. But if I'm a traitor, I can and will play both sides.
