Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Elenion replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
The advantage to this plan is that we get more information on the elims, but the disadvantage is that the more elims we get, the harder it will be to lynch one of them. With 2 elims, they have almost no voting power and are susceptible to the lucky bandwagon. When they have, say, 6 elims, it will be very difficult to lynch one of them because it will require 7 villagers voting as one.- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Elenion replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Isaac Jones awoke with a groan. He did not remember how or when he had fallen asleep, but he did remember that he was in a quite-possibly-haunted house. And when he opened his eyes and saw, in the darkness, a human figure in front of him, bent towards him, he did not hesitate to pull his sword from under his trench coat and attack. The thick, curved blade sliced through the air with hardly a sound and buried itself in the figure. It tottered for a second and fell, silently, a thick liquid spilling onto the carpet and Jones, who was lying on his chest with his sword in front of him. Some of the liquid splashed onto Jones' face, but it did not have the salty taste of blood. Instead it tasted... acrid. He knew that taste: it was ichor-alcohol. Lifeless blood. He reached forward and touched the fallen figure in front of him. It was a small doll, only about two feet in height, but which had appeared much taller due to Jones' angle of viewing. It now lay in two pieces, cut cleanly through the middle, with ichor-alcohol spilling onto his face. From the south. Isaac Jones then went on with his morning routine: first up, a quick check of directions. He turned to the east... and met the familiar-looking "north wall". Now that was just great: his mind was playing tricks on him. So he closed his eyes, looked west, and opened them. The same wall. Next up: check of all of his possessions to make sure thieves hadn't visited during the night. Sword--check. Trench coat--check. Boots--check. Doll from last night--no longer in his pocket. "Colors," Jones said, "well that explains quite a bit, doesn't it?"- 980 replies

The best theories are almost always found in the "Cosmere Theories" section, but beware of spoilers if you go that route. If you have any specific questions about things from the books, "Cosmere Q&A" is a good destination. For humor, General Discussion is always a good bet, but I would personally suggest "Sanderson Memes" in the "General Brandon Discussion" forum. That one's always a blast. And finally, my personal favorite subforum is "Sanderson Elimination". Think Town of Salem, but in the Cosmere.

You found absolutely nothing and gained the role of absolutely nothing! (the above claim is for satire, but the part about me finding nothing is true) Okay, so the inactives N0 were Jefry, Chaos, Phatt, Nathan, and Doc. I've played with Jefry, Chaos, and Nathan in games before, and they're all relatively-new players who tend to lurk a lot. Phatt I don't know that well. Doc isn't active in-thread, which is strange because back in Aman's MR he was very active before we killed him off. I expect he'll be on sooner or later. So... Chaos. She's played a few games, lurked in all of them, and doesn't seem to be on right now. @The_Lady_of_Chaos if you post in-thread I'll remove my poke-vote. It makes him play like I do.- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Elenion replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Isaac "The Hammer" Jones nearly burst out laughing at the shocked expressions on the other people's faces when their guide never returned. Being a cynic did have some distinct advantages, after all, one of which was the ability to find (albeit twisted) humor in almost any situation. He said nothing, though, and years of practice left him with a straight face. It wouldn't do for anyone else to discover that it wasn't the first time he'd been in a situation like this. He began by starting with the north wall. He did not know why he started with that particular wall, or how he knew that it was north, but that felt right, and a good killer explorer knows when to go with his gut. Jones' gut told him to go with the north wall, so he did. He didn't find any secret passages or awakened objects, but he did find a rather-creepy-looking doll. He picked it up to examine it. "Don't you think stuff like that would be better left alone? It might be haunted!" Isaac Jones shrugged without looking at the speaker, inspected the doll one more time, and pocketed it. It might be useful; or, even better, worth something.- 980 replies

Trust me: I'd much rather read Sanderson/Discworld than have another go through Huck Finn. But assignments call, so Huck Finn it is.
-
I still haven't read Emperor's Soul, SH, or Mistborn Era 2 yet; so Discworld might have to wait for a while. But I will add it to my reading list.
-
I actually did run them, but used imprecise data because I was only going for an approximation. The way my game ethics goes, you would have been well within your rights to kill your own teammate that game. I enjoy a good friendly grudge. Karma has a way of doing that.

Exactly. I'll keep this in mind in the future. In the late-night and sleep-deprived state I was in when I planned that out (I remember it well) I didn't consider that we weren't dealing with 20-some-odd clones of Len. No offense taken; your points have Merit.
