  1. Aman, I don't think that Orlok meant to personally insult you. I can see how it could be interpreted that way, but I doubt that that was his intent in the slightest. As you stated yourself, the goal of the game is to have fun.

  3. You're not the only one averaging low rep per post.
  4. I'm stealing this one next time I get into a pun war. I'm still laughing.

  6. Welcome to Hurt-and-Heal: Shards! If you've never played before, here's the rules: Each Shard starts with 5 HP. In each post of yours, choose 1 Shard to hurt for 1 HP and 1 to heal for 1 HP. In your post, please specify who you're hurting/healing and post an updated list with your choices bolded and numbers updated. You may post multiple times, but must wait for at least 10 minutes and 2 posts before you can post again. When only 2 Shards are left (or when the players want it), hurting/healing increases potency to 2 HP The last Shard standing is the victor. Without further ado, the player list: 1. Devotion: 5 2. Dominion: 5 3. Preservation: 5 4. Ruin: 5 5. Odium: 5 6. Honor: 5 7. Cultivation: 5 8. Endowment: 5 9. Autonomy: 5 10. "Survival Shard": 5
  7. I intend to see him get that back.
  8. Sounds good to me. Do I get to create the topic since I made the last vote?
  9. Kaladin survived Bridge 4; he can survive this.
  10. I've actually learned quite a bit about European history, but only as it plays into larger world events. For example, in a modern world history class that I took we learned pretty in-depth about WWI and WWII, and as part of that we took a look at Germany's and Italy's economic woes and how they led to the rise of authoritarian regimes. In my US Government class we learned about the English and French governments of the 1700s to use as points of reference. However, we don't learn much about countries other than the UK, France, Germany, Russia, Italy, and Spain.
  11. I want to post something, but most of my ideas have been conveyed by other players. So, RP it is. Arboreon cursed to himself as he read the news in the newspaper. A nobleman, dead. Not the one who had met with him the day before, but whom Arboreon could only assume was a fellow conspirator with his contact. Putting down the paper to the side of his mug, he addressed the only other man currently in the warehouse. "I'm afraid that our friend lost one of his men last night." Arboreon said to Bargo, his partner. Bargo had been instrumental in the discovery of the compound that they sold, and he was better at manufacturing it than Arboreon. That was the only reason Bargo was still alive. "Do you think it'll stop the deal?" Bargo said. "I hope not. We've got too much riding on this one. But just in case, prepare for a double-cross." "We're always prepared for a double-cross, Arboreon. That's the reason we're still alive." Both grinned and reached for their drinks.
  12. Consider it done. Hurt Khriss by 1, heal Iyatil by 1. 1. Khriss--02. Iyatil--70 That's game, folks.
  13. Welcome to the Shard, Revan. Have an upvote. Would "Revan" happen to be the Star Wars reference that I think it is? @bleeder has a (legal) PDF of Warbreaker that you can download. Whatever you heard, they lied. 'They' being the same ones who Ruined the cookies.
  14. Hurt Khriss, heal Iyatil 1. Khriss--52. Iyatil--65
  15. Anyone else notice that Rae's caption is "Skaa Thug"? Just sayin...
  16. Lord of the Goats: (sorry for any misquotes; I'm going by memory here) "The beacons are lit! Gondor calls for goat!" "Fool of a goat." "When did Saruman the Wise abandon reason for goat?!" "Goat's back on the menu, boys!" "Many that live deserve death, and many that die deserve goat." "This is a goat beyond any of you. Run!" "Let's hunt some goat!" ...and, my personal favorite... "I have the eyes of a hawk and the ears of a goat." And, some that aren't nearly quite as good...
  17. That's be a juicy target for a last-second vote change, though. All a player would have to do is vote on themself, then either cancel or change (whichever would wreck the lynch more) at the last second. Have a teammate Smoke them to keep Soothers from doing their thing, and you have a recipe for a rigged lynch. Unless there was some ambiguity in your GM PM, shouldn't that number be 100%?
  18. Suddenly, the credibility of Aman's previous words sharply decreased... I wouldn't go quite that far. We've seen players "as clear as it gets" before, but that is never guaranteed, like Lopen in the last MR. Still, all three of you have made your way a good distance onto the village side of my gut-read scale.
  19. Sweet! (I'd give you rep but I've hit my daily limit ) @A Joe in the Bush Is it a typo in the write-up that Alv is shown as having voted twice?
  20. My highest is Skybreaker, but only with 50%. However, that is the order that I tend to associate myself most with, so excellent job!
  21. Szeth, because he's my profile pic and I feel a little bad for sabotaging him in the Kaladin fight.
  22. Hurt Khriss, heal Iyatil 1. Khriss--92. Iyatil--61
  23. Thank you, although you are a day early. They burn the effigies in my honor tomorrow. Now: game-wise. Rest in peace El; rest in pieces Doc. So far, I've heard suspicions of Jondesu and Aman. I'm reading village on Aman right now because he thought I was an eliminator: I was much less aggressive than usual last cycle (my mistake; I thought you guys would enjoy a respite ), and I don't think an eliminator would have been scanning players for suspicions that closely, since they already would know all of the answers. As for Jondesu, he's reading elim to me, particularly after playing last game with us both as elims (albeit I was a traitor, but...). In the Forsworn PMs he came off as extremely hesitant to make decisions without the approval of others, and I think that as the vote swung towards Doc he was asked by fellow elims to attempt to misdirect the lynch. However, I could see how a village!Jondesu would make those decisions, but I find it less likely than him being an elim. So, without further ado, I'll pile on the bandwagon. Jondesu @Wonko the Sane Can you ease my paranoia and confirm Lopen's account? RP may or may not be posted tonight, depending on my schedule.
  24. There are a few users that I know that do usually play this erratically, but Ecth is not one of them. He's usually quiet with his voting, giving little explanation and putting his vote in towards the latter end of the cycle. This game he appears to have taken a leaf out of my book: I usually am one of the more lynch-happy players out there on D1. Now, my tactics suggestions: Thug: Self-protect until later in the game when we can more-accurately predict who the elims will attack. Tineye: A good use of this power would be to scan claimed vanillas to make sure they're on the level. Rioter: This can be used as a scan for elim kills and coinshots: redirect all actions to inactive players and if they die then you know that your target made a kill. Soother: Please use your action first round so we know how many of you there are. After that, just be prudent with your abilites. Coinshot: Kill suspicious people. Easy! (if only) Seeker: Start scanning now. If you scan a player as using an ability, you know that they did not send in the elim kill. Smoker: Smoke yourself to keep your vote from being negated. If a Seeker confronts you in PM about making no actions, claim to them. Regular: Stay alive and vote. RP: Ash fell from a dismal sky, settling on the gnarled leaves of a few withered, brown plants. The city of Urteau's proximity to the Ashmounts made it a poor place for growing any sort of plant life, which is why more than a few people had questions as to why an environmentalist such as Arboreon would choose to make Urteau his headquarters. Had Arboreon actually been an environmentalist, he would have agreed with them. But Urteau served its purpose: its numerous canal networks made the shipping of his special "fertilizer" efficient, and the frequent conflicts in the area kept Arboreon's fertilizer in high demand. On this particular day, Arboreon was talking to a particularly-dangerous client: a nobleman. Sure, he had considered turning the noble in to Quellion, but after some quick figuring Arboreon had found that he stood to earn nearly 150% more boxings if he did not. And since Arboreon valued money over his own safety, he had decided to meet with the nobleman, at least as long as it suited him. "Is the stuff as... potent as the rumors say?" Arboreon's contact wore a dark hood that cast all of his face except for a thickly-bearded chin into shadow. "You'll find it potent enough for what you have in mind." Arboreon really had no idea what the noble had in mind with the stuff, but he enjoyed the sudden stiffness that shot up his contact's back. "I see... can I get a demonstration?" Arboreon nodded, and then pulled a small pouch from where he hid it on the inside of his belt. Kneeling down over a rock, he sprinkled out a small amount of fine, grey powder, which formed a one-inch cone that looked like a miniature Ashmount. He stepped back and allowed the nobleman to light the powder. With a sudden whooosh! the "fertilizer" lit, creating a foot-wide fireball that left a starburst-shaped burn on the stone below. The nobleman looked up, beard slightly-singed and still smoking. "I find the goods satisfactory. When can you deliver?" Ecth is male; he just uses a female avatar.
