  1. No they don't!
  2. Welcome on board! Lots of knowledgeable people around hear that are passionate about the cosmere!
  3. My car would not start with a new battery and I was worried it would be a big car bill, because its always a big bill when it comes to car repairs. It turns out, after calling a friend, the wire that connects the battery to the car was a little loose. I just had to press down for the ignition to work. I need to tighten it with tools, but this works for the short term. So I'm excited I don't have to deal with a car repair shop...I always feel taken advantage of whenever I have to go there.
  4. Two possibilitys come to mind: Pasture says, "God be with you" and the congregation replies, "and also with you". The second possibility is the congregation says, "God be praised" Hope this helps!
  5. The good news is that the Bee movie should be over in about 7 minutes. I know what you're talking about I saw the link on io9. A guy who will not ask you out on by phone call or in person most likely has real socializing issues and probably isn't worth romantic interest. My two cents at least.
  6. @Quadrophenia I started reading The Rithmatist and put it down after a little bit because I wasnt't interested. After a while I gave the audiobook a try and ended up really enjoying it! Although, I bet Michael Krammer could make reading from a phone book sound thrilling. On another note I'm on the fourth book of The Shadow campaign series called The Guns of Empire. I've really enjoyed this flintlock fantasy series.
  7. Always nice to receive another Cosmere nerd
  8. Welcome Mark! Do you read the Culture series by Banks? That's my favorite science fiction series. My favorite one of those is Player of Games followed by The Hydrogen Sonata (this one often gets overlooked by fans). I also love The Dragon Never Sleeps by Glen Cook.
  9. If you want I could arrange for two people to show up at your door and explain it to you. I may even be able to talk them into giving you a free book
  10. Ha ha yeah. I like all of his series except for Alcatraz (its just a little to silly for me). Anything he writes I am excited to read. I know people have their favorites, but there is so much to look forward to whether SA 3, the new science fiction YA series, the sequel to Bands of Morning or the Azlanian (I feel the Rithmatist is very much underated).
  11. I know it probably makes me sound pathetic, but the State of Sanderson is one of the highlites of the holiday season for me.
  12. I just thought of another one I really like Stars from the Les Miserables musical. Just don't listen to the Russell Crow version. Why they chose actor who can't sing I will never know. I love that song because you really get inside Javier's head and what makes him tick. I have always loved his character.
  13. I have no problems with people expressing frustration but, in regards to people's disappointment about Adolin: you can't please everyone. I have full confidence it will be the best book in the series thus far; the groundwork in the series is already set and I am excited to see what happens.
  14. This belongs in the bad news thread. I live in Denver and it makes my job as a bus driver much harder. Cool to see another coloradan though...
  15. It's not a song, but more of a tune: Imperial Death March in Star wars. I also really like Be Prepared in the Lion King. For some strange reason I love it when the hyenas are goosestepping in front of Scar.
  16. Sorry I didn't see that until just now. I guess I stand corrected.
  17. Well if thats wrong I guess Brandon doesn't know whats he's talking about ;). From State of Sanderson 2015: The original pitch was for three trilogies. The Wax and Wayne books expanded this to four series. (You can imagine Wax and Wayne as series 1.5, if you want.) This means there will still be a contemporary trilogy, and a science fiction trilogy, in the future.
  18. I thought it went like this Mistborn 1:Final Empire-Hero of ages Mistborn 1.5: Alloy of Law and the three sequels Mistborn 2:1980's like setting Mistborn 3: Science fiction setting
  19. Is the only info we have on mistborn 3 is that it is scifi? I assume that mean FTL travel and visiting other cosmere worlds...
  20. Finally achieved Ardent!
  21. Apologies for the thread hijack, but yes. I believe the main 10 book series to be easily top 5 possibly even the greatest fantasy series ever. The Kharkanus trilogy has been a massive disappointment. Forge of Darkness had at least some echoes of Eriksons brilliance, but the same cannot be said for fall of light. I have never liked the Esslemont books, but I really enjoyed his most recent one called Dancers Lament; its a start to his own prequel series. Its almost like Young Adult malazan. A lot of fun and moves quickly. Nice to see another malazan fan
  22. I would read any Mhybe chapter over Fall of Light from the Kharkanus trilogy. That whole book is painfully dull.
  23. @BlackYetiI'm new around here but its my understanding that you can start now. Post under the Stormlight Archive section and make it a spoiler thread. A administrator will merge it into the official Edgedancer thread when it is created. Hope this helps!
  24. I know this is a comic, not a mime, but this is hilarious! Apologies if its been posted previously on this thread.
  25. I did a google search. Here you go: http://nanowrimo.org/about
