I accidentally mis-spoke there. I understand the tapping, it was the filling condition that wasn't completely clear to me. As for Brass, I do understand your point, and I can't really think of anything that matches the fluff myself.

Allright, I've got a couple of comments right away. Two comments. First, I assume you meant that the player can't post in Pm's and whatever? Forbidding them from posting anywhere else on the site seems kinda harsh . Secondly, this ability as it is now seems to require a lot of GM intervention to make all of those PM's. It also means that you need a very active GM to get these PM's made in a timely manner. What I'd do instead is to make the 2-charge tap allow the Ferring himself to make 2 PM's, and the 5-charge tap will open PM's for a single cycle, with any PM's made in the cycle being permanent. That way you aren't dependent on the GM to make the PM's, and the GM has less work to do. I'm not sure I understand this ones tapping condition. I mean, the text seems rather straightforward, it just seems somewhat random to me. That permanent extra life, can it be replaced after it has been lost? This is a fluffy thing: Brass stores body-heat. This rule doesn't use that at all. That's not to say the mechanic is bad, it just doesn't seem to match the fluff. That elim-team role distribution thing is really pretty powerful. I'm not sure if it's too powerful. You're going to be rolling a lot of dice. I'm honestly not too sure about these, maybe add a second role that everyone has in addition to being a feruchemist that covers these (so a kill-role, a block-role, a PM-role, etc.)? It's easier to balance and makes the game less swingy. Overall it looks quite an interesting game.

Anniversary Game 4/Anonymous Game 1: A Fresh Start
DeTess replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
@Arraenae... wow. That one I did not see coming. So in the end you where arraenae pretending to be wyrmhero pretending to be kasimir. I don't know their playstyles well enough to fully appreciate your work, but given how much you'd fooled those who do, I'm very impressed.- 1054 replies

I played in that one as well. The basic format worked well enough, though if you base something on that, it should probably be considered to allow the pairs to both talk during the Day and Night, as I think being able to talk in thread for only a portion of the time felt somewhat limiting. Elenion (who happened to be my partner in that game) was active, luckily, but if you are an active player and your partner isn't, I can imagine it to be somewhat frustrating.

Anniversary Game 4/Anonymous Game 1: A Fresh Start
DeTess replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Yeah, I think Heron was Wyrmhero? Anyway, I've got a pass for being very active over the last year? Well, I'd like to thank my family and friends, as well as Amanuensis for running the first game I took part in. Also, congratulations and well done to everyone else who won passes. Activity is the life-blood of these games, so those who go above and beyond to keep that lifeblood flowing... I think I lost my metaphor somewhere. Anyway, very well done people!- 1054 replies

@Ecthelion III, @livinglegend, neither of you have posted yet. Both of you have also been online since the start of the game, so it'd be nice if you could check in. Also, I'll be voting Straw for now. His vote on BR was either because he missed that she'd already posted, in which case the fact that his only contribution so far is the one line vote against her doesn't exactly paint him in a favorable light, or he did see that, and voted on her for some other reason without explaining why. His vote isn't the only one without any reasoning, but most of the others guilty of that have at least contributed a bit more to the thread than he has, even if most of it is RP (nothing wrong with RP, just try to combine it with some in-game insights). I would like to state that I'm slightly suspicious of Elenion, but he's also one of the few players that has actually been contributing a lot to the game side of things, so it's not to surprising that some of the things he has said make me weary of him. Given that most of the players haven't done anything alignment indicative yet, I'd prefer to keep a potentially suspicious contributor in the game for at least the first cycle just to keep discussion going.

Why exactly? She has already posted, so I assume you've got another reason for it?

I'm playing devils advocate here, as I do believe that we need a day-one lynch, but in the hypothetical scenario where everyone has 1 vote, and one person decides to swing the vote, that person will most likely be lynched unless they've got a very good explanation. Trading on a 1:1 basis is generally bad for elims. I'm not saying that this is a bad suggestion(depending on the elim team composition, you might either be right or very wrong), but whenever I see someone publicly make suggestions regarding protection roles (and this one is mechanically similar, in that you need to target the person you think will be killed) I become somewhat suspicious. After all, the elims would like to know who the sentries will target so they can avoid them, and the easiest way to do so is to convince them to watch someone you don't intend to attack. I'm going to wait a bit longer with casting my vote, as I prefer to have as much information as possible before I do so, but have a vote tally anyway, people. Vote tally Coop(1): Lopen Livinglegend(1): Bort Arinian(2): Drought, Elenion Lopen(1): Shqueeves Joe(1): MacThorstenson MacThorstenson(1): Ripplegyl Shqueeves(1): Arinian

For those wanting an easy reference back to in-character names: Anyway, we haven't got particularly much to discuss as of yet, so let's see if I can't stir up some discussion. I've already talked about a possible ploy the elims could try, and I was wondering if anyone else has seen any clever ploys they'd consider using. If you do think of some, make sure to include a couple of suggestions for counter-measures, as this is meant to defuse possible strategies, not give the elims ideas.

There are three types of games that are being run, Long Games(LG), Mid-Range(MR) and Quick Fix(QF), which indicate the length and involvement expected from each type of games. LG's are run consecutively, while MR's and QF's are run parallel tot hat but staggered (so at any one time there should be an LG, and either a QF or an MR going on). The games themselves are a forum version of the game known either as Mafia or werewolf depending on where you're from. If you're not familiar with either of those, I suggest reading through a previous game. AG4 is a recent example of a fairly standard game, with the exception of the use of anonymous accounts. Signups open about a week before a game is scheduled to start. You missed the closing of signups for QF30 by a couple of hours, and I'm not 100% sure when the signup for the next game will start, but QF30 will probably take about 2 weeks to complete, while the LG currently running will probably take around the same amount of time, or a bit longer. Edit: also, this post gives the general rules and stuff.

"A spy, here, among us?" Jaaver could only barely contain his righteous indignation. "This shall not stand! The long arm of the Idrian military police will apprehend this cretin and bring him to justice! And I, commander Jaaver, shall be the firm grasp of the hand of justice's long arm!" Having properly declared his identity and intent, he turned towards the soldiers playing dice. "You all have hereby been deputized into the search for this villain! Go forth, and report any suspicious or extravagant behavior to me!" After giving his orders, Jaaver turned around and marched away. Or he tried to at any rate. As he made his perfect by-the-book about-face, his heel slipped on a particularly slippery bit of ground, and he fell face-first into the mud. *** Well, there's a couple of rules in this game I'd like to comment on. First of all, everyone needs to vote, or they'll die, which also removes the possibility of a no-lynch first cycle, unless we spread the votes out in such a manner that everyone only has one vote. That seems somewhat easy to game for me, so I suggest not doing that. The most notable ability is that people in the dead doc can be contacted by awakeners, so if you're dead, try to keep up with the game and analysis, as it might still help. That having been said, awakeners can be good or bad, so do be a bit careful with information security. Sharing info about suspects is fine, but if you happened to learn the roles of everyone in the village, maybe not share that info. The other roles are fairly standard, so I'm not going to comment on it apart from telling sentry's to sentry, and captains to not advertise their presence until they believe it necessary, as knowledge of the number of vote manipulators is pretty useful for the elims. There's one more thing. Before the game started I came up with an elim ploy for ferreting out awakeners, which was to not kill anyone on the first or second cycle, and let them believe they role-blocked the killer by luck. I recommend that if a no-kill cycle does happen, awakeners make sure to PM someone with who they blocked, rather than revealing themselves in the thread. Edit: oops, misread that we can in fact not vote this cycle, and this cycle only. That doesn't make that a good idea, but it means it's apparently an option.

I'll be commander Jaaver of the Idrian military police. Once a degenerate Awakwener, always a degenerate Awakener, I say! Also, the mechanic I'm most interested in is the fact that some people can contact the dead-doc. This means that killing someone only takes their vote out of the game, and not their analysis and knowledge, which can be very useful.

Anniversary Game 4/Anonymous Game 1: A Fresh Start
DeTess replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'd just like to say that the elim team did a fantastic job at remaining hidden. There where a couple that I had bad gut feelings about, but most of them just came out of nowhere for me. Seriously, a job very well done!- 1054 replies

@Drake Marshall, can an elim that also has a role sue both the role and submit a kill at the same time?
-
I'll sign up. Character name will follow at a later moment. Also, if two awakeners block eachother, which one gets blocked? And if a blind Awakener Drains a tree in a forest of color, and no one is round to see it, will the awakening succeed?
-
Aren't the Anonymous games once per quarter? Or am I mistaken? Anyway, they both sound interesting. I believe I volunteered to co-GM the shard game a while back, though (don't know if you already have someone else instead).
-
Well, we where pretty much convinced that the bodyguard would be protecting him on the cycle after the claim, so the plan was to attack him the cycle after that, as we expected him to be double-checking me anyway, so leaving him alive for another cycle wouldn't hurt us much.
-
Of course I am. I can't believe you guys bought the 'It's a coincidence, I'm innocent' angle last turn . Means I was probably doing something right, despite kynedath's early suspicion. Anyway, apophis. I'm certain Alv is onto something here. Also, Walin, sorry for killing you. If you'd made that post slightly earlier, I would have targeted someone else instead, but it happened just after I'd submitted the kill and signed off for the cycle. Anyway, since there's two guns around, apparently: Edit: oh, and Devotary got the second gun, obviously.
-
so, @Devotary of Spontaneity, I assume you snooped on me again tonight to make sure? In that case I'd prefer if if you could clear me now.
-
It's just C2. It would have been a minor miracle or a major slip-up if an elim had been caught by now. With the exception of the two most recent games I've played elims weren't caught before C3 or so.
-
I'd still say its far too quiet, even for a night cycle.
-
It isn't voting time yet, mega. Though I applaud your enthusiasm.
-
Not that I know off. Blue might even eb redundant as your the Gm adn your word is law and objectively true anyway, but it stands out nice, so it's suitable for these announcements.

Talzeen cursed. He'd been certain the Swallow airspeed question would have tripped Chocolarzin up and revealed his loyalties. But the stony-faced bastard had just responded with a question about day-side and dark-side swallows. In the end, he hadn't admitted to anything. This was bad. If he had been able to prove Chocolarzin's guilt, then some of the heat might have been taken off him. His life expectancy looked pretty short right now. Talzeen quickly hurried home. If that Snoop was still watching him, then staying home and keeping his head down would be the best way to convince everyone that he wasn't involved with these murders.
