  1. So, was your targeting of me a 1/14 chance. I would be targeting the mist activexplayers first to figure out their alignments. This game, for C1, I would have picked one if darkness, walin or alv to snoop on.
  2. I'm not denying targeting Darkness with something last night, and Devotary's play is way too early to be from an elim, so I reckon he's village. I will not say what action exactly I've aken, as the elims have gotten quite enough information about who has what and which role from this exchange without me going into details. Edit: anyway, I didn't submit the kill, and it should be quite clear why people might want to target Darkness with one of the other actions available, as he was quite active last cycle.
  3. You really should have done the double scan, as I suggested. That would have saved the village a pair of very useful roles. Also, what do you base that 1/14 on? Snoop isn't a unique role, nor us arms dealer.
  4. I'm feeling reasonably well, and I don't have a clue about what's going on with most of the votes in the second half of this day-cycle. If you do figure it out, please tell me .
  5. That's pretty much my reason for taking my time to put a vote out in the first couple of cycles. I often vote late, or not at all, in the first couple of cycles while I try to build reads on the players. @Walin, Just for the record, you're voting on Straw because he hasn't been particularly active? As that's what I get from your explanation. @Devotary of Spontaneity, you've commented in the other thread recently, but not in this one. Could you explain why, of those involved in the tie, I was far more suspicious than the rest? I'm currently somewhat suspicious of you, as your reasoning could also just have been something quickly thrown together to justify bandwagoning on me. Drake's not playing in this game, Livinglegend. Who did you mean here? I'm currently considering voting on either Walin or Devotary. I'm leaning towards Devotary right now, as the more I look at it the more that particular vote looks like an opportunistic bandwagon with a relatively flimsy reason, but he (she?) is also a relatively new player, and might therefore be less prone to a move like that. Edit: okay, the above statement needs some further explanation. I reckon newer elim!players might be less prone to adding flimsy justifications to votes because just following someone else's lead in a case like this might seem to be enough. This is a bit of a random thought that occurred to me, though, so I might be wrong here.
  6. Ehm, can you provide some examples, or be more specific here? I feel like I've been doing the very opposite of tip-toeing around by constantly asking questions and fishing for motivations. If anything, this will make me share the spotlight with whoever I'm questioning rather than hide myself. I mean, If I wanted to remain unseen and out of the picture, I could have just not posted anything after giving an impassioned speech about why I dislike D1 lynches or something. It is true I haven't been expressing any strong convictions regarding someone's guilt yet, but I don't see how you can expect me to do so in C1. I don't try to sell my suspicions for more than they're worth, so If I have some minor reason to be suspicious of someone I don't present it as if its the be-all and end-all of proof. I mentioned the tie as a secondary motivation for my vote, but as I believe I also made clear I was suspicious of both roadwalker and walin, so I didn't particularly care which of the two got lynched. On the other hand, Alvron, Megasif and livinglegend all mentioned it as primary motivation for their vote. So why, exactly, are you voting on me here? Edit: anyway, Darkness got killed. Did anyone hear something from him in PM's that might be a clue as to why? I reckon it probably has to do with the fact that he was a driving force behind the lynch yesterday, but whether it was because he was right in his suspicions, or because th elims merely want to make us think he was right (or because they want us to think that they want us to think that,....) I don't know.
  7. Okay, let's start with some activity notices. @Ornstein, you haven't posted in the thread yet. Are you out there? @Straw and @A Budgie, you haven't posted since N0, which is a couple of days ago. are you still following along? Now, @Megasif, did you realize you weren't actually breaking a tie but putting Joe in the lead with your vote today? And if you did realize, what motivated you to do that?
  8. Between Walin and roadwalker, I think roadwalker's actions are quite roadwalkerish, which is more NAI then elim-leaning, so I'm voting Walin. Vote tally: Arinian(0): alv Roadwalker(2): Steeldancer, Darkness Walin(2): Alv, rand let the tie-games begin!
  9. Nice! I liked Legion quite a bit. In your case I'd just like to see something content-wise, rather than a specific response to something. It's C1, and evidence is thin, so anything to make me better evaluate your alignment would help.
  10. Yeah. I'll cast my vote against either of them before the day's out as it stands now. I want to see a response from them, if at all possible, first.
  11. Okay... so what are you trying to achieve here, Walin? If I had a role that people would kill me for I would most definitely not advertise that fact, as this is basically daring the elims to kill you...assuming you are village of course. If you're an elim, then hinting that you might have an important role could make people less likely to lynch you, and keeping the specifics to yourself makes it harder for people to test your claim.
  12. Knowing Alv, unless he has reason to actually be suspicious of Arin, he'll probably drop that vote in favor of a 15-way tie if the opportunity presents itself. Anyway, I'll go over the posts again tomorrow to see if anyone has given me enough cause for a lynch vote. If Alv does seem to be maintaining his vote on arin* I might make him part of a tie, but as I said, I don't expect him to maintain the vote without actual reasons. edit: *without further explanation of his reasons
  13. Right, fair enough. The main reason I was pushing for more of an explanation w as to check whether you actually held convictions to this regard, or if you were just trying to use a throw-away statement to hide behind. It seems you passed that test :P. Why do you feel the need to say this, Roadwalker? I really can't figure out how this is to the benefit of anyone. Also, Merry Christmas* everyone! *or cross-cultural equivalent
  14. Might I ask why that is? I can understand some hesitance here as I'm usually quite bad with using killing roles as a villager as I tend to second-guess myself way too much (so no guns for me, please). However, the lynch isn't something you're doing on your own, so any contributions to the process will only help to counterbalance everyone else's mistakes and biases. The reason I'm calling you out in this is because what you're saying here seems to come down to 'You guys should definitely lynch someone, but I do not want to be involved or be held responsible in any way', which seems a bit suspicious to me.
  15. Did you read Jondesu's rule-clarification I linked last night? If no one is chosen for the lynch, someone is randomly picked.
  16. It's still N0, Straw, so no lynching yet.
  17. Jondesu clarified that outside of the main post:
  18. Okay, so let's talk some tactics. First of all, the rules around the tie means that it's not possible to do a no-lynch cycle, as that'll just result in someone randomly getting killed. The last MR and QF have also proven quite conclusively that it is very possible to take down an elim C1, so I'd prefer if everyone gets involved in the lynch discussion C1, even if you decide not to vote in the end. Now, let's take a look at the roles: Snoop: This is to all intents and purposes an alignment scanner. All elims count as having submitted an action against the kill-target, so if you scan someone submitting an action against whoever gets elim-killed you've probably caught an elim. A second scan would confirm that it wasn't someone with another role. I do really recommend taking that second scan though, as a false accusation won't just result in your own lynch, but also means the village has lost either the arms dealer or another snoop because of it. Bodyguard: Your task is to guard bodies. Do so. If there are no people you think need to be kept alive, guard yourself. Obvious stuff, really. Arms dealer: Be careful who you give guns to. You probably only have a couple to give out, so there's no need to give one each cycle. Gun owner: There's a couple of ways in which guns can be used. The first way is to skip over a fore-gone conclusion lynch. For example, if someone has been outed by a Snoop then a quick shot can allow that lynch to be skipped, essentially saving us from a cycle with relatively little fruitful discussion. The other thing is to hold on to your gun until the very end. If the elims have managed to remain unseen until the final stages of the game then the chances are reasonably large that they might reveal who they are when they think there's nothing the village can do to stop them anymore. a couple of bullets kept in reserve can really swing things around in that situation. I'd be careful with using guns for purely personal suspicions. Trying to get someone lynched will give far more info than just shooting someone would, no matter whether the person getting shot is village or elim. @Jondesu Will the black sands also win by outnumbering if the village still has guns?
  19. Well, that was a pretty great game, even though I didn't do nearly as well as I could/should have. First of all, thanks to @Droughtbringer for running this one. Secondly, I'd like to thank my house and my team for a good game. Thirdly, I'd like to thank everyone else who put at least one post in for their contributions too. I'd like to give a special shout-out to @Doc12 for his ruthless leadership of house 1 and excellent RP, both in-thread when he got around to it, and in our PM. The first did stand Tall. A bit of introspection on my own performance. I felt like I wasn't nearly as active this game as I could have been. I had a bit of a health issue at one point (nothing major, mostly just a bit of exhaustion), but I still think that outside of that I should and could have posted more. I can also now see in hindsight that my most major mistake was my trust of Doc and Arin. If I had been village, I'd probably have either outed their activities in the thread, or at least informed Lopen about it, but because I knew they weren't evil I could (kinda) figure out the rationale behind most of their kills. I'm not sure if things would have been different if I hadn't made this mistake, but I feel that was my biggest character-break with village!Rand. That doesn't mean I didn't have fun though, but I think it's important for me to take a look at what I did wrong.
  20. Yeah, I'll sign up. I've been looking forward to your gun mechanic for a while now, @Jondesu. Edit; Oh right, sign me up as Talzeen.
  21. So, a total of three vote manipulations happened. Rae and Lemon got switched to the Rebecca vote, while doc got switched to the Arin side of things. I'm somewhat disappointed that Rebecca flipped village, but it gives me a clue regarding who the mole might be in my house, if we even have one. @Lemonelon, you wouldn't happen to be willing to admit to being an elim? I'm fairly sure I could have things cleaned up by the end of the cycle in that case. ...yeah, thought not.
  22. Well, you've convinced me, Lemon. Rebecca. I've been arguing a bit in favor of trying to lynch you instead, but the decision was that Rebecca was the more suspicious of the two of you, despite this rather blatant invocation of house politics to try and get the different nobles to clash over this issue. That's not saying that I'm convinced that Arin is innocent, but as Lemon put it so nicely, trying to lynch the house 3 elim first is just in our favor. Once that's done, I'll be up for working my way thorough my house to take out our elim(s). Vote tally: Rebecca(3): Doc, Arin, Rand Arin(5): Rae, Lopen, Lemon, Living, Rebecca
  23. I've been somewhat ill/exhausted today, meaning that I haven't been able to work up the time and effort to make a significant post today. Luckily, This cycle will last till tomorrow evening for me, so I will hopefully have time to make a post then. @Ookla the Rae, Arinian hasn't claimed anything in the doc.
  24. Okay, thanks for clearing that up Lopen. I'd just reached the conclusion that Doc had to be evil if he'd said what you claimed, but this clears some of that up again. I'll do another run-down of my opinions of the various players in a bit and vote, but I've got a couple of Pm's and things I kinda want answers to first before I finish that. Adela - Brightness Radiant: I reckon she's probably village, unless she's got some kind of defensive role. It wouldn't have been in an elims favor to list the members of her house, as that could have opened her up to some house-war related antics.Darquez - ShaneysRus: Fairly inactive at the moment. He's in my house and we haven't caught our elim yet(if we have one), so that might be indicative, or it might not be. His posts are fairly NAI.Manukos: Pretty much the same story as ShaneysRus. Sami: Same story as Manukos and Shaney, only she's more inactive and not in my house. Cassandra Bane - Rebecca: Same story as Sami, only she's in a hosue with an unfound elim (assuming even distribution) as well. Lemonelon: See Rebecca, but a couple of things she said stood out to me. Specifically, after Darkness' death she mentioned that she had been planning on following his voting, but that now that was impossible. Darkness had made his suspicion of me and Arin quite well known, so if she wanted to follow his lead she could have easily done that. This suspicion only makes sense if one of me or Arin is an elim though.Rhiannon Aurette - Arraenae: Let's see if her house backs her up on her claim about Arin before judging her, shall we?Lady Noodlington - A Budgie: I'm still reading her Asterion vote from D1 as a distancing attempt, as it doesn't really make sense as a regular vote as she accused Asterion of doing pretty much the same thing she was doing. That's the only thing I've got on her that makes me read elim, but she hasn't posted that much. She can't have been the one to order straw killed either, as she was at the ball. Still, slight elim read.Jonas - LivingLegend: Same story as Sami.Lopen: Probably village because of his voting on Drake and Asterion.Young Bard: given the low elim activity, the fact that he's inactive would seem damning, but if he's in a house that has already lost their elim than that changes some things. No clue regarding his alignment. So, I've intentionally skipped Doc and Arin here. I will want to see Doc's response to some of the recent developments here, and judge things based on that. Arin is in the same boat as Rae, I'm waiting to see whether her house backs her up on her claim or not.
  25. I'm sorry, but I'm not a scanner. My metal can be used in such a way (kinda, with low success chances), but I've only used it hat way twice, once N2, in which I targeted about half the players, and learned that Lopen was some kind of Misting, and once N4, at the ball. The other days I've been using it defensively. I've told Doc that I've done this. @Doc12, care to explain what happened here? Edit: As for why I wasn't looking for the coinshot? As I said, I have trouble doing precise targeting and don't have a high chance of success. The reason I attended the ball was because that actually helped me by giving me a more focused group of targets to affect.
