  1. Very informative: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leet
  2. I don't see how that would be different in this context... The result would still be that Aon Mea changed, regardless of if other Aons did as well.
  3. Yeah, we already know what would happen to the 'Elantris effect' if the Aon changed, since that's exactly what happened when the chasm appeared. Elantrians kept being created within the area.

    Hoid's

He's from pre-Shattering Yolen, yes. Read more here http://coppermind.net/wiki/Hoid
  5. But the Aons themselves were never broken, just changed. All the Aons in Elantris would start working again if the chasm line was added to them. So the question is, HOW would the Aon change if the valley was destroyed?
  6. We only have counties (län) and municipalities (kommuner) here in Sweden, but then again we have fewer inhabitants, so we don't need more levels. Politically, it's mostly healthcare stuff and public transportation that's dealt with on a county level. Lots of other government organizations are structured by counties too, though. But most of the politics happen on a national level or in the individual municipalities.
  7. Yeah, @Yata, I could be wrong. It feels right though. After all, this seems to be exactly what happens when someone Returns: Endowment literally bestows someone with a Breath. It's in the name, "Endowment". I feel like if it was genetical... it wouldn't be an "endowment" in the same way. I dunno. It would be nice to get some clarification on that.
  8. I mean that Endowment changes the soul of anyone born on the planet. Not just adding a Breath on top of the "normal" soul, but actually changing it, including bestowing the Breath.
  9. That the women are on the lower half is from the picture tobar14 linked above, but I don't think I've seen any direct proof that the female Heralds are more aligned with Cultivation. The only spren we know the alignment of (Honorspren and whatever Wyndle's type is called) do seem to match that, but I don't think we really know the alignments of any of the other Orders and their spren. It could be true though.
  10. I think being born with a Breath is more about being born on Nalthis than having the right parents. Not completely sure about the parents though. But at least, I don't think you can be born with a Breath outside Nalthis.
  11. Not surprising. Maybe it will open up the opportunity for some other company to take over, or for an adaptation of something else... Depends on why the game was cancelled.
  12. You don't need to hold the power of an entire shard to count as a sliver, just a significant amount of Investiture. There probably isn't any sharp border though. Mistborn spoilers: I think this is likely. At any rate, the swords seem to follow them to Braize (or they follow their swords), since Taln arrived with his Blade, despite having died at the last Desolation. This was one of the questions that lead to my Recreance theory. I think they are the same spiritual being. I don't see any reason why that would change between Desolations. About the actual bodies... I think they keep how their body looks, at any rate. But that's possible even if it's "remade" every time they return, by modelling it on their Cognitive image of themselves. I have a feeling this will become very important fairly soon in the story. But there could be a more boring answer, like Pagerunner says: Maybe Shinovar was just where they left them in the first place. Regardless, they will probably have a very important role in the Shin culture and history. Like I mentioned earlier, Taln (or to give his formal title, the-man-who-thinks-he's-Taln) returned with his Blade, so I can only assume it goes with them, or at least is automatically deposited into the spiritual realm when they die (unlike deadblades). I dunno... Very few people know that nine of the Heralds abandoned the Oathpact. The Heralds just told them that they had won. By the way, slightly different question: Do you think the surviving Heralds worldhopped away after giving up the Pact? They must have done something during those thousands of years...
  13. "The wind howled. Lightning stabbed at the earth erratically, like an inefficient assassin." - Wyrd Sisters, Terry Pratchett Not my favorite, but I recently read it. Other than that, the WoT openings (granted, not the first line of the books since they have prologues, but still) always make me happy to read.
  14. In the instances we've seen, spren have tended to hang around their human for a while before there are any visible effects of the bond (possibly because it takes a while before spren start the bonding process, or possibly because the bonding just takes a while). Renarin and Ym are very far away from each other, as well. I don't remember the timline either, so I'm not saying it's impossible, but I think it's very unlikely.
  15. I don't think we'll see the oaths of all orders in the first five. Not directly, anyway. Not to mention that there are other powers out there: fabrials, Listener forms, the Old Magic... There's lots to discover even without the oaths.
  16. I really think many people have read too much into that WoB; basically anything could be defined as an "opposing force". And we already KNOW one existed, because, well, Adonalsium is shattered. However, we do know that whatever the opposing force is, it created a weapon. THAT may become important later on, but I guess it won't be until the sci-fi mistborn trilogy. The different series are supposed to be mostly self-contained, with Cosmere references being easter eggs and background information, but not necessary to understand the stories by themselves. But once the worlds interact more in the last Mistborn trilogy, that's when the Cosmere will be involved directly.

    Cosmere Planets

How many planets? There are probably lots, but there are ten "major shardworlds", ie ten planets with shards currently residing on them (splintered or whole). See more here: http://coppermind.net/wiki/Cosmere#Planets There are probably thousands and thousands of planets with no life, and no conditions that allow for life. The planets all have different properties, but most of them are pretty Earth-sized. Roshar is smaller (or at least has lower gravity). Not sure about some of the others. There will be star charts in Arcanum Unbounded, but I don't know if they will show how different planets are aligned with each other. The stars seem to be pretty similar to our sun, so probably no red dwarves or blue giants. They also have different numbers of moons. Scadrial has none, Roshar has three, etc. That sort of information tends to be on the coppermind pages of the individual planets.

    Brothers

Anything from an unpublished book should be put in spoiler tags. That one in particular isn't a huge spoiler by any means, but still.
  20. No, you can get it as a "normal" book as well. I have it in paperback. I'm guessing any new printing of it will be the updated version from now on.
  21. I think the "adamah" is the "ground" part. Adam was created from soil, etc. The fruit is never described as an apple in the bible.

    Zahel

Well, according to Brandon, the two had some sort of "falling out", so who knows. But Vasher probably wants to keep Nightblood under supervision, since he feels responsible for it.
  23. I asked the same question earlier this page
  24. You know who Mark Hamill also voiced? Fire Lord Ozai. THAT blew MY mind.
