(Spoilers for WoR & BoM) Questions about Lift
Eki replied to Steelheart's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Relevant WoB: I'm guessing she could fill both metalminds (although she would fill the Nicrosilmind with Investiture, using food, which I think is what you meant). The Coppermind says "She does not learn how to drain Stormlight from external sources, so the amount of Stormlight she can use is limited by the amount of food she has eaten.", but there is no source, so I can't confirm it. For the last question, the answer is Lift. I don't think we have a WoB on this, I'm afraid. -
Yep, that's right. (tiny Mistborn spoilers)

Oh right, "damnation" is one of the censored words on the forum And yeah, "storm off" may have had a different etymology. Honestly though, "f off" doesn't make any sense, so it must have developed directly from "f you" or something. Not that that one makes much more sense, but you know...
-
I don't think "storm you" is supposed to replace "f you", but rather something less fierce like "damnation you". The etymology is probably that it comes from something like "the storm take you". I don't think it's that weird, really.

Blood and ashes! Blood and bloody ashes!

The epigraphs (or at least one in particular) suggest that it's more about the fact that spren gain more from being bonded to humans than they do from being bonded to Listeners. In what way, we don't know. Eshonai's perspective might be very biased, since she feels betrayed.

I dunno... Considering the Aonic peoples immigrated to the area (to find the abandoned Elantris), and it took a few decades before the Shaod started happening... It sounds more like Connection to me. It might be hard to judge. Most people who move there probably interbreed fairly quickly, so their descendants are part Aonic anyway.

They can't be Aons, right? I don't think any Aons have triangles, and most of them don't have anything that resembles circles (though it should be possible to create an Aon that has something resembling a circle around it). It could be something similar though. But I'm guessing either some kind of worldhopper language, or gibberish. Edit: ok, I refreshed my memory on Aons. A few of them do have rings around them, and some even have triangles, but always as part of something else. I wouldn't call any of them "triangular", really. It would be a very tiny selection of Aons (of the ones we know, at least) if that's what they really were.

They didn't, probably. Magics aren't designed by their shards. They're more a result of the interactions between a shard and a planet (and sometimes other shards as well). In the case of Allomancy, Scadrians having a piece of Preservation in them seems to be behind the ability to use magic. Preservation can affect that to some extent, as we saw in the force snapping, Sazed changing how snapping works, and lerasium. But the underlying mechanics; that this extra connection to Preservation should allow people to use magic, and the way it is inherited... Preservation probably didn't have anything to do with that. Same goes for Feruchemy, except we know less about what's actually behind that.

In the Jasnah PoV except, Anyway, I think (non-sentient) spren are involved somehow. Fabrials work by trapping specific types of spren in specific gems, so there may be some connection there.

I use onion powder when I cook. I don't know if it's anything like chopped onions, but it works as a spice regardless. (I mean, I have eaten chopped onions obviously, but I've never really thought about which differences they and onion powder actually have with regards to taste) Also, hummus is awesome!

Well, you have to consider that all they had to work with was three pieces of used tape, four hundred uncooked noodles, a chainsaw and some bubble gum.
-
The Epilogue says they will travel to the Plains together.

What Oversleep says is correct, but bear in mind that you would probably have been just as amazed by repeated doubles of any of the other numbers, or if he had rolled 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, etc. Basically, rolls that follow patterns like that are individually very, very, unlikely, but there are also lots of them. It's still really cool and extremely unlikely, but slightly less so than you might think at first glance.

I really hope we do get at least one scene, especially from Jasnah's perspective. But I don't think it will be a big, stretched out thing. It's possible that we won't hear from them until they arrive, though. I think at least Jasnah will share what she knows - she is a scholar after all, and she doesn't have to hide being a KR.
-
Hang on... do we know this? Wouldn't it be really cool if there were hidden pockets of Listeners around the whole continent? Parshmen who accidentally transformed, and decided to not return to their "masters".
-
I never saw them in Ubuntu, but now they don't show in Windows either.

Isn't that dullform? Edit: Yeah: http://coppermind.net/wiki/Listener Slaveform is the lack of form, and the form used for spying is dullform. It's more intelligent than slaveform, and obviously more independent.

Horneaters and Herdazians being part Listener has been confirmed by Brandon, and we know many from Jah Keved have Horneaters in their ancestry (including Shallan, because of her hair). Aimians are not human. We don't know if they have mixed with Listeners too, or even if they could, but I think it's unlikely. Their abilities could just be their own.

First past the post voting is terrible.

That would be interesting for sure, but since the dream was about something that happened long before Dalinar met his wife, I doubt it.
-
I don't see any reason to change it... It sounds ok, describes what the process is, and (I think) is the "official" word Brandon uses as well.

I drew something for the first time since... art class in school probably. It wasn't very great, but at least I got the idea I was going for across, I think...

Honestly, I'm kinda hoping we do get RAFO'd on this. I wouldn't mind if it's in AU, but I would find it hilarious if we got this name now, but then don't get to know what it even is until a few years from now.
