  1. Actually not, unless people hear voices after killing someone all the time. Thanks for explaining it better than I could!!
  2. The only WoB I recall basically said the magic involved with the voices was so common/ordinary that a typical Rosharan would not see it as magic though we would. Is there a new WoB?
  3. Pretty sure Amaram and T were all part of the same organization, and that The Diagram was created after Gavillar's death. Not sure if we know how closely everyong is working together now though. Maybe Gavilar is what kept that group together, much like how he kept Dalinar and Sadeas from fight
  4. I thought there was a request not to transcribe it?
  5. SA3 reading He definitely could be autistic, maybe an Aspie, who has learned to compensate for it over his many years.
  6. FWIW, Jasnah was in Tukar before moving on to Kharbranth. .
  7. Also, was that when we learned Renarin had been the one writing the numbers on the wall? Cannot recall if there was an earlier reveal for that.
  8. Except it's strongly implied that that was his bane, not his wish.
  9. Ignoring that I wasn't really being serious, why would age matter to a scholar? Also, a couple million years from now, Khriss would just be slightly older.... Now that I think about it, we really don't know how old the worldhoppers are, because they could be jumping forward in time/time is different in the CR. I don't know, I think he could be too different. That zero initiative could be too much to overcome. Also, I think intelligence/scholarly pursuits will be common ground. From that perspective, Kaladin could be a good fit (doctor), though I would be surprised if that happened. Though if Adolin and Shallan stay together, that would leave Kaladin available. And even thoguh she wasn't at the shattered plains, she would learn about all of the things Kaladin has done protecting her family, including saving Dalinar three times (from Sadeas trap and the two times Szeth attacked), helping Adolin out in the arena, and protecting Elohkar. Those could be huge points to her. Helping Shallan out in the chasms could be considered a plus. I want to see her and Kal talk about it, just so Jasnah could ask him how Shallan's wit didn't drive him insane.....
  10. So, anyone want to ship Khriss and Jasnah? Khrisnah?
  11. It could just be that certain aesthetic values are universal (e.g. the golden ratio) resulting in similar planned city layouts. How defensible city is could also play a factor.
  12. Edit1: You'd think Szeth would know better than to get up close, though maybe he was underestimating his opponent at that time.He definitely seems more "battle hardened" later on (i.e. real world experience fighting/killing). Of course, less and less sanity can alter fighting styles too. Edit2: Also, even if soothers cannot affect an entire army, they can certainly affect portions of it, which could be used to break ranks, cause the sentries to relax and miss stuff, etc. Want to sneak into the enemy base, sooth the guards....
  13. There is a WoB that inidicates what many would call corruption is mixing of shard powers, though he RAFO'd whether Nightblood was a mix of shard powers. The problem with the command given Nightblood is it was not suddenly given an innate, perfect understanding of what "evil" is. I would not be surprised if someone who thought they were good but was actually evil could use Nightblood to commit evil acts. Probably why Szeth will be able to wield him. What happens to the investiture could be a by product of how Nightblood works. Or he could perceive all other investiture as evil. Note that Brandon has stated that he (Brandon) does not consider the shards good or evil and goes on to give an example of an Honorspren that could be cruel. I think that was from the Odysseycon transcript. Nightblood consumes Breaths/Investiture/Spark of Life when being wielded, which could be independent of his mandate. For example, if his mandate was to protect puppies would he he would still consume investiture? I'm inclined to believe he would. Brandon did sy Nightblood was like a robotic spren, so maybe rendering investiture useless/destroying it is a flaw in his creation (the Frankenstein monster of spren....).
  14. If I recall recent WoBs correctly, black is the result of mixing shard powers (also said mixing is what some call corruption). We also need to be careful mixing colors from the CR and PR. We might need a list for each. I don't think we should assume there is a one-for-one relationship between CR and PR colors.
  15. Well, there is still one more book in the trilogy....
  16. It's also worth noting that
  17. Pretty sure there is a WoW that mentions that Nightblood is an exception to that rule, so Nightblood reduces the amount of investiture in the cosmere. Edit: from http://www.theoryland.com/intvsresults.php?kwt=%27investiture%27
  18. But can it be overwhelmed that way? Might just destroy the Cosmere instead.....
  19. Do we know for sure if Hoid has Scadrial Feruchemy? Could he have the Yolish equivalent, like he does for Lightweaving?
  20. Brandon could be trying to give casual readers a clue about the connection. He could also be playing mind games with us.
  21. And from Roshar as well IIRC. Everything is in the same dwarf galaxy so a lot of the astronomical features will look the same.
  22. Adonalisum definitely created Roshar, but presumably he created the other two planets in the Roshar system, and various other planets as well (in theory the world of Sixth of the Dusk, since Brandon indicated he wanted to do a story on a world with "natural" magic instead of shard magic). So I'm not sure Roshar received special attention from Adonalisum. Roshar could be "special" because of the shards that ended up there.
  23. Leaving a Flesh Golem?
  24. In the forums he is usually reffered to as Brandon, which I think you meant to say is too informal. However, he likes having a fan base, and of course was a fan of e.g. Wheel of Time before he became a best selling author. So I have a feeling he doesn't mind it IRL either. Maybe someone that has been to conventions can corroborate that? I know in the transcripts he is usually also listed as "Brandon". Don't forget he is also a gamer, etc. too. So I have a feeling he's pretty informal about these things. Even if he secretly hated it which I 10000000000000% doubt, it would be smart business since an engaged fan base translates to more sales/guaranteed sales.
