Szeth can't be Odium's champion for another reason: he already follows Honor. He follows Nale, who is a Herald, who works for Honor. Also, like Spoolofwool said, Szeth isn't evil, just obedient. On another note, I think Nightblood will help redeem him. If Szeth is evil, or thinks he's evil, nightblood will try to kill him. It's a problem that will have to be resolved pretty quickly if Szeth is going to live.

Second Annual Sanderson Tournament
Farnsworth replied to Patar's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Kaladin is hands down the best character in the Cosmere. He fought complete injustice when everybody hated him because of how amazing he was. Elend is a spoiled lordling who decides to turn to the good side after a while. -
The "Strictness" of Rosharan shards
Farnsworth replied to CosmereQuestioner's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Since Odium is so nearby, the shards are probably more defensive even shattered. They would be stricter out of fear. -
Second Annual Sanderson Tournament
Farnsworth replied to Patar's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Nohadon wrote the Way of Kings! I know that Kelseir is amazing, but Nohadon is the Dumbledore/Gandalf guy who knows everything. He was an amazing king, inspired Dalinar to do basically everything that he did, and he wrote the book that inspired the title for the book it was in. There's a reason Dalinar is constantly quoting Nohadon. -
Brandon has ruined my ability to read
Farnsworth replied to Megan's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I'd recommend turning to Sci-fi, because other fantasy books just don't compare. Asimov is the best I think, and he also does interconnected series like Sanderson, so there is some reading in between the lines, but it's very logical, so there's less. Gibson is pretty good to if you like darker stuff. @Krandacth I read Thomas Covanant at 12, so I'd say that although it's dark, it's okay. But then I also Song of ice and Fire at 13, and here I am staying up late to post on the nerdiest site in the world, so maybe those books screwed me up more than I thought. -
Maybe she is a ferring of one of the metals with unknown affects, and that affect is list-making?

I will lock you in a room with Wit for a week. (actually, a room with me for a week would do essentially the same thing)

How do you measure a sliver? With a Lord Ruler
-
I went to a party at the Lord Ruler's. The drinks were spiked. Q: Where in the Cosmere do you go to hear good music? A: Scadrial, because Preservation and Ruin make great Harmony.
-
Scadrial is unique in that investiture is transmitted by genes, rather than by aptitude for that sort of investiture. It seems rather unfair when compared to Forging which is taught, becoming an Elantris person which is determined by devotion to something, and radiants, which is determined by being broken. Allomancy seems almost like an aristocracy. Why did preservation and ruin decide on this?

Favourite Stormlight Archive qoute
Farnsworth replied to Asasasyn in White's topic in Stormlight Archive
I love this one because it's so incongruous with the previous Kaladin. This is the ultimate knight killing. It's awesome. -
Nightblood and Flavour of Investiture [WoB from Reddit]
Farnsworth replied to Yata's topic in Cosmere Discussion
@Jondesu We already know that there is going to be a problem with Szeth, because Szeth thinks he is evil an Nightblood will have to kill him for that. So I think Nightblood will go through a significant change-in-nature sometime soon.- 7 replies

Is it possible that these world were invested as such before the Shattering by Adonalsium?
-
How does any form of magic happen on planets with no shards? How is there any investiture? I would understand if the two planets had the exact same sort of magic, but they are different enough that there has to be two different things going on. What are those things that are different if they are not shards?
-
I think that being above a shardpool would be interesting, because we would see if shardpools have water in them. If it was water infused with shard essence, the sandling would have died. This way we know it is pure shard.

I was kind of expecting a really bad ars arcanum, because it's her first. I think it would be hard to have one in graphic novel form though.

Could The Nahel Bond Be Insidious? (WoR Back Cover)
Farnsworth replied to Subvisual Haze's topic in Cosmere Discussion
It doesn't necessarily have to be an insidious act, even if the spren becomes part of you. These people are broken, and they already have a certain disposition that attracts the spren. For example, Kaladin was attracted to fighting even before the bond. Syl just increased a natural tendency of his. -
Don't scare away the new victims! The cookies are delicious and completely safe. here, have a bronze- I mean chocolate- one!

It would seem to me that if Trell started getting extremely involved in Scadrial magic, Sazed would do something. So far he seems unworried.
-
All true, but we have here a case of 16 people with very different values, personalities, and species, all coming together to do something. There must have been a pretty good reason for that.
-
I think that if Vin were a savant, Sazed/Harmony would have mentioned it when he healed her after she died, because he healed Spook from being a tin savant.
-
Since spren come from adonalsium, I always thought of Adonalsium as a spren. In that case, he would have no body.
-
I like the idea about the Radients being connected to the oathpact, but I don't think they are sent to damnation. I'm pretty sure that's just a Herald thing. although, it would fit in with the idea of soldiers fighting for the Tranuiline halls, so many you are right.

Yes, but the question remains about why good people/dragons/type3s would kill Adonalsium if he were a good entity.
-
Back to the thread though, even if it wasn't stagnation it was clearly a problem coming from the fact that Adonalsium was a single, powerful creature. All the power was in one spot.
