  1. When I'm reading cosmere:
  2. In all planets besides Roshar, dirt is just dirt. Only on Roshar is it called crem. This cannot be a random name for ordinary dirt, so here's my theory. Crem is like mist, in the sense that it's the physical manifestation of a shard. Since the Highstorms are Honor, I think Crem is cultivation. Ideas?
  3. It wasn't the sentient ground, it wasn't Odium, what is it? Cultivation?
  4. In Elantris, Galladon says that "some say, if you burn us and cut off our head, or do anything that completely destroys the body, we'll just stop existing. Others, they say the pain goes on - that we become pain." Which is true? Also, after Raoden fixed everything, would a burned Elantrian be healed? Would they just materialize?
  5. I just got a signed copy of the leather bound Elantris (yay!) and I asked whether the earthquake was related to AU spoiler His response: nothing specifically to do with the grounds sentience. RAFO! A bit disappointing, but at least it tells us something!
  6. I'm pretty sure they are Honor, because Cultivation tends to make thinks more mild.
  7. Rose empire: Nights! Days! Some culture should add midafternoons
  8. Note to all those who say that we are a fandom: we are not a fandom, we are a cult. Edit: although the Peirs Anthony cult is a shade more creepy.
  9. If corruption has to do with what people think, it's definitely in the Cognitive Realm, which is where spren live anyways. This means that it is easy to corrupt Spren: just bond then to a human who thinks that they are of Odium and of Honor. Then they will get a 50/50 spren, who is of course corrupted.
  10. When your screensaver, Chrome background, and desktop are all maps of different Shardworlds.
  11. When any of the God-Kings uses Breath, it turns things white. So I don't think it necessarily has to be gray. I just think that the closer it gets to white, the harder it is to awaken with it.
  12. I don't think we know when honor was shattered relative to the last desolation. Do we?
  13. Some things we know: Honor was shattered a long time ago. Honor was shattered by Odium Odium is not in support of anybody being happy The Heralds in the prelude really do not want to go back to the place they go between desolations There is a quote in the prelude that mentions hooks and fire in damnation Honor likes the Heralds Some things I am extrapolating: There have probably been desolations before the shattering of Honor There have probably been desolations after the shattering of Honor Fire could be a natural phenomenon, but for there to be hooks in damnation makes it seem like an intentional torture planet Odium probably is happy about the Heralds suffering My theory There was probably some form of Damnation before Honor was shattered, but it wasn't that bad. Then, after Odium shattered Honor, Honor was no longer there to protect the Heralds, and Odium was free to make Damnation as terrible as it could possibly be. He can do whatever he wants to it because he owns Braize. Ideas?
  14. Sorry about that. I'll try to be more careful in the future.
  15. Shallan doesn't lie. She just says alternative facts. *Those who interpret this as political satire are mistaken*
  16. On Roshar, people still think Honor is alive in the form of the Almighty even though Odium shattered him. So could there be a sort of Honorspren? A big one, not ones like Syl. I guess that's kind of what the Stormfather is.
  17. Warning: worst pun ever Nightblood corrupts the breath of his victims, and then oozes it out as dark misty stuff. You could probly say that he has bad breath!
  18. How did preservation know? Why was honor worried st all then if he know what would happen? EDIT: sorry, I meant Preservation, not Honor.
  19. It makes sense that it's hard to carve, because it's crystal. I was referring to the fact that it's the best at making Soulstamps.
  20. The Terris Prophocies told the future, and Ruin is the only being on Scadrial that can do this, and we don't know of any other way to figure out the future on Scadrial. So were the Terrismen who wrote the prophecies using Ruin? Did Ruin tell them? Was Ruin aware?

    fainlife

What is/are the fainlife? I looked it up on the site, on the wiki, and in the AU essays but I still don't know what it is. Does anyone know?
  22. There are two types of people: those who save and those who kill (previous one was a joke)
  23. The black prism is good, but the first book is not as good as the sequels. Welcome to the shard!
  24. There's always another stick
