So every book focuses on an order each? I did not realize this before, that's interesting. Either way, like other people suggests I guess the Stormfather had to consent to the bonding but perhaps not with enthusiasm. I imagine Dalinar is going to have a pretty hard time. I doubt the Stormfather is going to be ordered or "utilized" as say Pattern or Syl. Especially since he might have gone through a Recreance already personally if I understand it correctly? It will be interesting to see exactly how that dynamic is going to work out.

I'm reading American Gods, but putting it on long time hold for a complete reread of Stormlight before Oathbringer comes out. I read pretty slowly, so I gotta get to work.

The Little Mermaid isn't a Grimm fairytale as far as I know (it's Hans Christian Andersen), but I get the point and think it sounds like an interesting read! I love twists on fairytales, and I think modern time needs fairy tales as much as old times heh. Would there be magic involved still or would the magic also be "modernized"?

Sometimes it's based in an almost primal fear of things that move in a way or look like something that we associate with reasonable fears I guess. Many people fear spiders even though we don't live around poisonous spiders, for example. I am afraid of moths because I've had quite a few instances where they got stuck in my hair or inside my clothes, which is a terribly uncomfortable feeling :b

I named my horse in Zelda Breath of the Wild "Kaladin". because its fast like the wind and I know how much Kaladin loves horses.

I havent pre-theorized nearly enough about this book but some random hopes/ideas I have are: 1. Pattern will get a kick out of Adolin constantly lying to cover his deed. Shallan will realize what is going on. 2. Dalinar more or less disowns Adolin when he learns what he did, Adolin doesnt deal well with it. I foresee a Dark Side Adolin downwards spiral. 3. Zahel will drop some info about Dalinars late wife. Possibly to Renarin

Thank you for the answer! I didn't know Nightblood actually removed Investiture. What do we know of how these sources "soak up" the investiture? Stormlight and metals are natural resources and work mostly just as such I guess. I'm assuming in Nalthis the Breaths would go to Endowments domain somehow if not redistributed or collected by living people? Does that mean there is a set amount of Breaths that can be "handed" out on Nalthis?

I have a question regarding the Cosmere's investiture "ecosystem". I'm thinking of how Stormlight seems to follow a system where stormlight will leak or be used up and then come back through the highstorms, much like rain and the cycle of water. Is there something similar with Breath or other investiture sources in the Cosmere? When a person with Breath (maybe just one, or even several thousand) dies, does the Breath return to Endowment to be given to new people who are born, or collected somehow? If I remember correctly, Breath that doesn't get given away is sort of "wasted", but since investiture most often seems to be a relative constant in the Cosmere I'm guessing it doesn't just disappear. Is there any system of investiture that does not follow a "recycling" system like this in the Cosmere? Or have I totally misunderstood something? Apologies if this has been explained or speculated before and I missed it, I'm a little bit unsure about what is okay to ask and not here (I tried searching for it but didn't find anything that seemed to explain it?)

I have a friend who read Stormlight Archive and didn't adore it. I have never been so confused in my life. I managed to make 1 other friend read 1 book of mistborn and another said she'd pick up Stormlight but I think the size of the book scared her. One friend got into mistborn half from my help and likes it, yay! But yeah I've since warned my friends not to bring up Sanderson/book suggestions because my eyes immediately light up and I'll relentlessly suggest the Cosmere to them. I get way too passionate about it lol.

My impossible dream is for Jasnah, Sarene, and Steris to all meet up and have a very in depth discussion about politics, science, and economy. It would be amazing and I'm 100 % sure they would be BFFs. I guess if it's just any two characters, I'll want to see Jasnah meet Sarene. They'd have a lot of interesting stuff to share and bond over.
