  1. Why not just have Kell figure out how to free himself so we can finally see a Fullborn in action? TLR was too lazy to show us. We got hints of what one could do in BoM. But we’ve never seen a Fullborn really go all out...
  2. I mentioned him. Does that count? Just to note: Mistings are only Invested when using their abilities. Otherwise they’re just ordinary people. That’s unpublished though. And I said Hoid.
  3. There are only three Cosmere short stories: Hope of Elantris (about Matisse), Eleventh Metal (about Kelsier) and Alomancer Jak (about Jak). Two of those I guessed and the third isn’t Invested except when using tin. When you say short story, are we including novellas? Or when you say about, we are including characters other than the main ones? Gemmel. Dashe Mareshe Taid
  4. Lift, though that was a novella.
  5. Matisse Are we allowed to talk about Dawnshard outside the DS/RoW boards? I didn’t think we were.
  6. Vo had children and we know other Returned can have them. So it is possible for at least some Shadows to do so.
  7. @Ookla the Bored Any of these? Vasher. Nightblood. Arsteel Lightsong Blushweaver Susebron Denth Allmother Brighthue Brightvision Calmseer Giftbeacon Hopefinder Kindwinds Lifeblesser Mercystar Mirthgiver Peaceyearning Shashara Stillmark Truthcall Vo Weatherlove Yesteel Siri Vivenna Azure’s sword Everyone on Nalthis who isn’t a drab and any Worldhoppers in possession of Breath. Jezrien Nale Kalak. Ishar Taln Chana Pailia Ash Battar Vedel Tanavast/Stormfather I am not listing Fused, as I don’t recall which names came from RoW and I don’t want to get in trouble. So let’s pretend I listed all the ones we know. Anyone currently using a form of Stormlight or Voidlight Kelsier Vin Anyone currently burning metals or tapping metalminds. Scadrial Mraize Grandmother Hoid Ati Raoden Galladon Any other Elantrians. Anyone actively accessing the Dor. Sel Anyone actively using Sandmastery. Anyone actively using using a form of Kinetic Investiture. So that’s every sentient Invested entity I can think of. Not counting Spren or Seons, as those are Sentient Investiture. (Cognitive Shadows are a tad more complicated; they might be sentient Investiture OR they might be Invested Entities.) Not counting Shards as they are Investiture, not Invested. The Stormfather is an exception as it includes a Cognitive Shadow which IS Invested. Can I point out that this is the most vague hint in the Cosmere? I may add all the Nalthians and Elantrians eventually... The only thing more vague would be ‘this person has Investiture’ because that includes EVERYONE.
  8. Why don’t you do graphic novels? The graphic novels are told from differing POVs as well. Three primarily, though there might be others. (I’d have to reread them, which I’d rather not do. They were... not great, to say the least.) This is pretty cool, btw. Thanks for putting it together.
  9. Does anyone know why Brandon switched editors for RoW? I haven’t found much information about it and was wondering if anyone knew.
  10. No, that happened naturally.
  11. Just to note: as a woman, the Skaa have it way worse than Darkeyes. There may be some argument for men; there is NO argument for women. Which means the Skaa as a population, including both sexes, were worse off than the worst Darkeyes. At least on Roshar, being murdered for being raped by the rapist is not considered a holy act.
  12. Which also fits the book’s narrative.
  13. Thanks. PMDD is weird because it’s so tightly bound up with the menstrual cycle. It literally will be ‘cured’ once I hit menopause, though that won’t be for decades. The biggest issue is that those seven to ten days come with some very intense suicidal ideations, at least for me. I do recognize that they aren’t normal for me though, which definitely helps. I love reading/writing too! I like my characters to be hopeful though, even the morose ones. Constant feelings of despair are very wearing on my psyche. When I see a character spiraling it can cause me to reflect those feelings, which can be very dangerous. I wish I could skip his chapters, but they’re rather plot relevant... If I skipped them I’d miss half the story. So I usually read the books once, then use my kindle to double check for things if I need to look them up. But I don’t reread SA, and I don’t read them during the one week a month I am depressed. (I got lucky this time; the book came out the week before.) On the other hand, my Mistborn books are very well read.
  14. I was discussing my experiences, not yours. My depression does just ‘go away.’ Yours doesn’t. That doesn’t make one experience more valid than another. I’m glad you liked WoR. Reading it was one of the closest times I came to killing myself. So we obviously have very different reactions.
  15. This is contradicted by the GBs stating that they do not want Odium winning and hinting that one reason for the capture of Urithiru was to give Dalinar a way to propagate the war. They also really did NOT like the SoH, who had been trying to restore the Desolations. Kelsier also has no reason to want Odium free, as it will endanger Scadrial. There is no way Kelsier would have approved of what happened to Lift - with one possible exception. If the GBs think Cultivation is their real threat (which is possible) then they might go after Lift as a tool of Cultivation.
  16. Chlorine gas is actually super easy to create. You can do it with cleaning supplies. If you know what your doing it’s not that hard to do (relatively) safely. My grandfather is an Organic chemist. He could make multiple chemical weapons safely from items laying about the house. Also multiple bombs. He doesn’t, but he could.
  17. I very much got the feeling that Mraize is both: a: much lower on the hierarchy than Shallan realizes, but wants to be higher on it and b: is not in his usual job. Specifically, I think Mraize and Iyatil were ordered to hunt certain things on Roshar. Kalak, Urithiru, etc. They were two members of a specialized team. Then Mraize ended up forming a bond with Veil/Shallan and was ordered to recruit her, with the indication that if he could prove he was capable as more than a hunter he would be moved up in the GB ranks. Thing is, Mraize really isn’t. And it shows. Thaidakar isn’t going to be more than mildly bothered by Mraize though. Iyatil will get the brunt of her master’s wrath.
  18. A class. Formerly an engineered race, but that is no longer the case.
  19. I have a NVLD. I don’t do implications; I’m not really capable of it without considerable effort. (Think of it like super high functioning ASD.) Any implication is your own interpretation. I was describing my own coping methods. It was not an indictment of the character. @Raven Wilder Until my cycle steadied, which didn’t happen until my twenties, I didn’t know anything was wrong. I just thought random emotional shifts were a normal thing. Once my cycle was regular I realized that it was a consistent change, but I thought it was normal menstrual stuff. It took a fairly long time to realize that it was much worse for me than most people.
  20. I wasn’t speaking against Kaladin. That was your false interpretation. I wasn’t comparing anything, despite your assertions.
  21. I was explaining how I, personally, deal with depression and why Kaladin’s POVs are a problem for me, personally. I was not comparing traumas; I was telling you where I found my strength. You took my words and twisted them into something they weren’t. Although, for the record, they didn’t ‘grin and bear it.’ The Survivors I know are some of the strongest, kindest and most JOYOUS individuals I’ve ever met. They’re so hopeful and so full of faith. I don’t know how they do that, but if they can - I can too. I can see their strength and emulate it. It’s only a week, after all. It’s not about ‘grinning and beating’ it; it’s about finding joy. It’s about looking for things that can make you honestly smile. It’s recognizing that joy and hope is a choice and CHOOSING. You also seem to have very nicely missed the part where Kaladin’s point of view, as written, make me seriously consider killing myself. So I have good reason for wishing they were written with a more hopeful mindset.
  22. Actually, I think it’s a reflection of the books’ characters. Elantris: The book is about the mystery of why Elantris doesn’t work. Mistborn: It was a heist story. Gaming the system is exactly what they were doing. Roshar: The story is about people growing toward their best selves, a concept that lends itself to spirituality. Warbreaker: It’s a story of two princesses trying to avoid a war that is, at least partly, about trade routs. The basic concept of the stories matches well with the nature of the world’s magics.
  23. Interesting. I had first thought Thaidakar could be Kelsier back in WoR, but I was still shocked when Brandon actually did it. I did cotton on earlier than the official reveal though (when Mraize reveals that Thaidakar is a CS.) It was still awesome.
  24. It was a recent reddit statement I think. Brandon said Hoid is not actually suited to Whimsy.
