  1. Eryn watched the interaction between the Inquisitor and the newcomer with interest. The Sovereign would want to know about this. Still, despite her curiosity, she was careful to let nothing show. No Hunter would. Instead she pretended not to notice the tension as she walked between the newcomer and the Inquisitor. She smiled up at the bartender. “This yellow sweet-sour drink: what is it made of?” @Ookla the Stick
  2. Eryn sipped thoughtfully, watching the people. A figure in a dark cloak moved through the crowds. As she moved past the candle Eryn caught a faint flash, as though something were reflecting the light beneath the hood. Nothing anyone here would notice, but she recognized it. She had seen it before, the way the light caught the Sovereign’s steel eye. This, then, was Ett’s agent. The one she was to watch. The Southerner smiled again at Aaron. “Perhaps the owner knows. I will ask.” She rose quickly, before he could object. He was far too protective. True, she was a chocolatier, but she was also a Hunter. Eryn had been trained to fight, even before. And now, she was so much more.
  3. Technically, it’s marewill. I headcannon that the GB symbol is actually stylized marewill. And yes, you may. But if you post anywhere, please give me credit for the line art.
  4. Eryn smiled at him. “The Sovereign would not have let me die. He was watching in the storm to see if I could survive.” She sipped the drink, enjoying the play of sweet and sour flavors on her tongue. “This is a good drink. It tastes of Citron, but more sour. What fruit is this made of?” Perhaps she could bring a cutting home. If it was similar to Citron it might take. The extra sourness could allow for some interesting flavor mixes in her truffle fillings. Perhaps she would give some to the Sovereign. If he liked it he might get her a small grove. He was fond of sweets. She could use that to persuade him.
  5. Eryn tilted her head slightly. “You were in the storm, too,” she pointed out. “And I did not wander. You give your fifteen minutes to Ett; I speak to the Sovereign when the day becomes night and the mists arise.” She smiled kindly. “It is the mixing of times, when Herr’s nights and Frau’s days meet and place between Realms is thin.” Old superstition, and completely inaccurate. But the Sovereign was fond of the time between, both in the South and the North.
  6. Eryn waited until the first mists rose and with them her Connection to her master. Perhaps there was some truth to the barbarians beliefs. More likely the Sovereign preferred the dramatics of it. ‘Style,’ as the elders claimed he said. Bemused, Eryn returned to the tavern. She was surprised to see Aaron watching as she opened the door. Had he been worried? She tapped duralumin as she approached, the barbarians language suddenly understandable as she tricked her soul into forging a Connection that never was. “You were watching for me?” she asked as she approached her friend.
  7. The inked and cleaned up version of the earlier rough. The large marewill flower looks more like a flower now.
  8. This is exactly my opinion. I have a rather long post discussing how Roshar’s ‘lawful’ inclination makes it a natural opponent to Scadrial’s ‘Chaotic.’ Basically: Roshar tends toward Paladins and Scadrial tends toward Rogues. Culture clash ahead.
  9. No non-Scadrian Investiture, no Mistborn or Full Feruchemists. Just ask to be added to the chat.
  10. [Outside the tavern. The other speaker is actually watching her, so they’re physically close as well. We’ve seen Connection do some pretty freaky things, and it’s Spiritual so space doesn’t really exist. It makes sense to me that this would work anyway. Especially since Eryn truly believes in him.]
  11. “Ganache.” Eryn’s eyes widened as a soft voice sounded in her ears. No, not her ears. Her mind. Connection Compounded until she might as well have been standing before her master. ”Watch the Inquisitor. Be wary; Ett commands her.” Then he was gone, a feeling of dispassion sweeping over her. Why should she obey? What did she care? There was nothing, no Connection between them. There couldn’t be; not if they didn’t want Harmony to know. [I’m pretty sure you can do this with Connection. Especially if you can do what the person at the other end can.]
  12. Not technically Rhythm of War, or even Stormlight Archive, but it’s here due to certain... symbolic elements, shall we say. This isn’t finished (I’ll post the ink version when I have it and the colored one after.) It’s supposed to be Scadrian religious art around Era 3, some time after they’ve figured out that the Survivor and the Sovereign are the same person. This headcannon has marewill as being a symbol associated with the Sovereign, as Kelsier introduced it to the South, which is why it has such a prominent spot in the symbology. And if the three petaled flower bears a striking resemblance to a certain trouble making Cosmere organization’s symbol, well...
  13. Eryn watched the sunset, eyes turned toward the South. Soon the Mists would come out. The Barbarians in this strange Northern world claimed the Sovereign walked the Mists, that they were his. Of course, they did not know that he was the Sovereign. And Eryn was not allowed to tell them. Oh, she could tell some. Those she trusted, like Aaron. She would return to him soon. It had been kind of him to leave his experiments to help her. He was a good man, for all that he served Ett. Eryn shivered, tugging her thick coat tight. It was so cold up here. Nothing at all like the warm caverns where her people lived. She could endure it though; there was no reason to waste brass on this. The sun sunk lower and Eryn sighed, cold fingers clasping her medallion. The special one. She tapped it lightly, knowing her master would sense its use. Then she released it, quietly speaking in her own tongue, not the strange barbarian one with all the letters that never sounded as they were written. ”I have made it to the Roughs,” she murmured. “Aaron continues to be kind. The people in the tavern did not seem to care about my mask, though some seemed surprised at my accent. Most did not notice; many were drunk. The food is not good, but it is hearty and will suffice.” She spoke on at length, watching the sun set. Eryn watched the sun sink beneath the horizon. This was odd, as she had only just stepped out to - Ah. Of course. And now the Mists would come. Ett’s Mists, despite what these barbarians thought. Still it was nice to think that they belonged to the Sovereign too.
  14. I think that would be a BRILLIANT twist. Especially with a Nicrosil compounder MC.
  15. Am I allowed to put this in the gallery? I was inspired by the end sheets of SA and thought it would be interesting to draw (hypothetical) religious art from Scadrial and Nalthis depicting Kelsier and Warbreaker. Not complete, but you should be able to see the issue. That’s marewill, btw, not the GB symbol. But I do headcannon the GB symbol as stylized marewill. Warbreaker will not be an issue, as none of his picture elements include spoilers beyond Warbreaker (the book).
  16. The Sovereign’s Temple
  17. Amaram says, “Restares is right” or something similar. I’m not looking up the exact quote right now. We later see Amaram contacting Restares directly and he seems to deeply respect him. Whether or not Kalak straight up ordered those actions, he seems to have had no problem with it after the fact. I do not think he is anywhere near as ‘nice’ as we are being led to believe. And I don’t trust him. I found the quote: “It took hours to decide, but Restares is right—this is what must be done. For the good of Alethkar.”
  18. Unimaginable.
  19. It’s Aon Dii’s fault for incredible. Impossible.
  20. Unbelievable.
  21. Seeing as LGBTQ+ exist in most religious texts (albeit in the negative, at least in modern ones) that isn’t really indicative. Hermaphrodites also get brought up in several texts, despite their rarity. Judaism has special rules about hermaphrodites despite them being a tiny population. (To be fair, Judaism has rules about EVERYTHING.) Not to mention, the Jewish people are less than 1% of the world’s population, but I’m pretty sure most of the world has heard of this tiny ethnic group! There are more LGBTQ+ people than there are Jews, so by your definition no one should have heard of a Jewish person. Historically there have been many different cultures with many different opinions on homosexuality, including some like the Azish (change of gender forms?). It’s only since Christianity really took off that the predominant opinion has been negative. Note that on the world with the most Christianity-like religion gay relationships are not accepted by most of the population. At least in the North.
  22. Astonishing.
  23. Either works. False.
