Random Stuff IX: Rogue Admins
Nashan’Elin replied to Delightful's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
I was introduced to them a couple months ago, and I really like their music! And they're coming to Colorado in March, so I'm super hyped to go to that. -
wow taht soonds terrible (Sorry, sorry. That really bothers me too, and it was physically painful to write the above statement.)
-
I like the way you think, Bleeder.

I'm a bloodsealer now! I guess I'm a little bit on the sketchy side, but hey. I can do Forgery, so there's that. Even if it is with blood, and skeletons, and pseudo-necromancy...

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

When you wake up on a foggy morning and pretend you're on Scadrial. -
Well, I'm about two and a half seasons in now (procrastination is a wonderful, terrible, thing) and while it's not as good, I think that's largely because there is no overarching goal like there was in A:TLA.

Just finished rewatching Avatar: The Last Airbender for the first time in like 7 years. I was about 8 or 9 when I first watched it, so it was actually really cool seeing it with a different perspective. Then I discovered that Legend of Korra is a thing, so I'm going to spend my weekend binge-watching that too

Random Stuff IX: Rogue Admins

This song I'm listening to has all of these faint thump kind of noises in the background, and for some reason one of them sounds like a heavily muffled version of my name, so every time I listen to this song I think that someone's calling me and I can't hear it because of my earbuds. So I end up ripping out my earbuds and spinning around in circles looking for whoever called me, only to realize it's the fifth time I've done it. And then I feel silly and go back to listening. -

and return to men the Shards they once bore. The Knights Radiant must stand again. When you read the back cover of WoK after reading Arcanum Unbounded and think "I know who wrote that! I know who wrote that!" -
Cookies In The TARDIS: The Intro Thread Fight
Nashan’Elin replied to Master Elodin's topic in Social Groups, Clans, & Guilds
Nashan wiggles his fingers. "Magic!" -
It may have been that she was trying to keep her Radiant Soulcasting hidden, because fabrial Soulcasters require the specific gems in order to transform something. I wouldn't expect her to prioritize her secrecy over Shallan's life, but she may have judged that there was enough time to get a garnet and still save Shallan.

Cookies In The TARDIS: The Intro Thread Fight
Nashan’Elin replied to Master Elodin's topic in Social Groups, Clans, & Guilds
Nashan yawns and rubs his eyes. "It's been a while since my last necromancy. It's always quite the way to wake up, huh?" -
Oh, I meant like how on Skype one user is a dedicated "host" and if they leave or have bad internet, the whole chat is affected, whereas on Discord you can make servers that are hosted by Discord directly, and anyone in the group can drop in or out whenever they want, and it's always pretty fast! And I thought Google Hangouts had video chat. Did that change?

Text/voice chat program. Server-hosted, not user-hosted, very easy to use. And free! It's like better Skype without video chats.

I know the one Lark created, what's the other one?

@Ookla the Cat Lord @Ookla the Chibi @The Ooklent One Exactly. This is why I love the Shard, you all totally understand this stuff. Unfortunately, this seems like it will be normal for this teacher, which is no fun. Oh well, I'll live.

A huge pet peeve for me is choices that aren't real. My school is Catholic, and thus, we have religion class. I used to enjoy it because the teacher would let people debate, and ask questions if they didn't think something sounded right. I recently started a new trimester, however, and the new teacher is very fond of telling instead of debating. For instance, today she was talking about saviors in different religions and had the class form groups and present from a list of different "saviors". The problem was, all the "saviors" besides Jesus on the list were not really saviors in their respective religions. Buddha, Prometheus, and Thor were a few of the choices, and the class was supposed to find how the "saviors" would save humanity and what they promised for the afterlife. The problem was, none of these fit those criteria at all! It just felt so rigged.

The biggest problem I see is just the sheer implausibility of it. While it's an interesting theory, and fits the facts, I have to wonder how Nazh, a Threnodite, would end up with a knife that could only be created by someone of the Ninth Heightening, and unless an easier method was found, using 1000 Breaths? And why would he so easily give it to someone on a seemingly impossible mission? Additionally, the knife appears to have no special effects. There's no talking, no draining Investiture, and the knife doesn't seem to have Nightblood's triple-realm cutting effect. If the knife didn't talk to Kelsier, why would Nazh think it would talk to a random Scadrian during the Second Era? This theory is interesting, but ultimately, I find too many holes in it.

*Excited screaming* My hype for Oathbringer has increased again!

So I ended up making it to the signing (thank Harmony for the extra tickets!) Here are my questions: Q: Does Lift see Wyndle a different way than another Edgedancer would see their spren? A: Yes, but only slightly. She sees a longer vine, and slightly more, but it's not a big difference. Q: [EDGEDANCER SPOILERS]
