Granted. You are transported onto an infinite railway network, onboard a beautiful train, and it all belongs to you. Onboard the train is pretty much everything you need to lead a good life, including a complete signed collection of the cosmere books. Unfortunately, the train never stops and you may not exit it. Every hour you encounter a trolley question scenario on the tracks. Have fun solving ethical dilemmas for the rest of eternity. I wish for a combustible lemon. Preferably one that will not combust in my face or anything of that sort. -

Actually, the math community is secretly okay with dividing by zero. Because you sort of kind of need zero division to do calculus. For example, integrating something is basically the process of dividing zero by zero and getting a finite nonzero result. But don't tell anybody. It's a secret. Also, I will note that you are a lot more likely to get infinity when you divide something by zero than you are to get zero again. This is part of why zero division is regarded as "impossible", because technically, infinity is not a number in the strictest sense (although lets be honest, we can usually get away with treating it like one, albeit one that follows some unusual rules). -

Granted. However, the pies come in every flavor randomly (and I mean every flavor) after the style of the beans in Harry Potter. And to successfully solve the math problem, you must always consume the pie slice. The effects of this are global, and thus all of the world's computers totally crash, and are severely handicapped until new models are built that are capable of consuming pie slices. Also, the raspberry pi computer model has become wildly popular. On the bright side, you've indirectly solved world hunger (although even this is a two-edged sword: roughly the same number of people that were dying of hunger are now dying of obesity-related health conditions). I wish for true understanding. Preferably not the variant that would result in going mad from the revelation. -

Both of those sound fantastic I've been waiting for a bodyswapping kandra game since before I even knew we were getting anonymous accounts that would make it possible. And I have heard quite a lot about your shard games, but have yet to see one firsthand.

[OB] Sja-anat: to trust, or not to trust, that is the question.
DrakeMarshall replied to KOOZ's topic in Stormlight Archive
I have little doubt that Sja-Anat would be capable of tricking our protagonists into trusting her. I also have little doubt that effectively testing her would be very difficult. However, pending further development (which could change the lay of things substantially), I think it would be much, much more interesting if she was indeed legitimately trustworthy. Which is not to say that she is altruistic or even benign, but that she is a genuine ally to our characters. If my supposition is correct, than I expect our protagonists will not realize that Sja-Anat is trustworthy for quite some time. If, on the contrary, our characters end up acting on her advice early into book 5, then Sja-Anat is probably planning to betray them. -
I mean, if we are discussing portrayals in hamlet the lion king, I'm pretty sure lions eat more carrion than hyenas do. Orlok as thief lines up, and I approve of encouraging fair play. I appreciate the activity levels of this game. And finally, a Jondesu lynch seems to have emerged. Might even give Alv his tie; we'll see where this goes. For now I'm not moving my vote.

Well storms. Anything I said about you not responding to my PMs, I rescind. You have every reason not to. A straightforward reading led me to the conclusion that you were giving each player a different strategy. But, you can have the benefit of the doubt on that one, because it was a fairly minor thing and I primarily paid attention to it because there is so little to go off of on D1. Alvron, if you do not get the tie you wished for, I express sympathy. Your playstyle is always quite fun, even if it might occasionally attract some votes.

If this state of affairs continues, I might consider switching my vote to Orlok, as I would rather not lynch Monster or Eternum. Alvron makes a point of being opaque, more even than I do. And while I respect that, I trust he will understand my course of action, given the circumstantial evidence. He had the wherewithal to make an action order, and I do not get the feeling that he attempted to take an item and failed. My working hypothesis is that he was the one who snagged the map. Granted, the last time I accused Alvron and he created a tie like this, he was innocent, but I fully believe Alvron would be doing this no matter his alignment. Orlok has done maybe two things that I could see elim!Orlok doing. Also, he is online right now but still has not responded to my PMs Which in of itself is kind of suspect because the last thing I asked him was whether he had attempted to get an item or not. There are two reasons I am reluctant to lynch him though. One, because I half wonder if he did not take an item as a matter of principle, because he expressed the concern in PM to me that everybody taking items might be gamebreaking. And two, because it paints a target on his back, and while some players might enjoy the challenge and the IKYK of that, I believe Orlok would tend towards a more practically minded tactic if he were an eliminator. BR, Eternum, and Budgie are also all legitimate suspects, but my read of those 3 is too hazy to do much with it. I am pretty sure I trust Monster for their analysis... Although the unanimity that everyone has hopped on the idea of hunting inside that pool of 6 does give me a little pause.

Hmm, lets get this vote up and running. This is interesting, but also that's still a pretty large pool to find a single killer in. But probably some of these people either went for the chalk or the crab. Or the map, for that matter (remind me who said they would be going for the map last cycle???). And some people forgot to put in their order. I shall start by asking Alvron @Alvron what he did last cycle. That is the one I am most curious about.

Hm. So the map went to a sneaky person. That's disconcerting. Also @livinglegend you ended up taking a crab? I was under the impression that you were planning on going for the gun. Unless that was just meant as a deterrent.

That is a good idea. See if you can get somebody to slip about an idea you never shared with them... And voila you have evidence of behind the scenes communication. What kind of confuses this is that from what I can tell Steeldancer has apparently told everyone the same strategy? Unless somebody can confirm that they received a different one? @Steeldancer it might undermine your plan but I still recommend you come up with an explanation and address this confusion, if you are village.

Hey everybody! I need to go somewhere in about 5 minutes ago. In the meantime, I've pretty much caught up on the thread, and. If Orlok's disclosure about Steeldancer is accurate... That means Steeldancer has been a little untruthful. He told me he was sharing a different idea with everyone in all of his PMs, but that is the same idea he shared with me, so... It's a fairly harmless lie, and it might even be some kind of attempted gambit to catch elims, but... I can't see an obvious explanation for untruth. I'm still not totally happy with this, but deception is better grounds to lynch somebody than I usually get on D1. Steeldancer. I will be back at some point before the end of the cycle. Until then, ~Drake

I just want to point out that maybe not everyone has your same definition of fun. Analysis may be your thing, but maybe it isn't Kyne's thing. I do however agree that everybody who signs up for a game should be at peace with the possibility of dying on the first day. Given that metroid is puppy-proofing the house in anticipation of getting a puppy, and their post was only two hours ago, it is quite probable that they do not have the pupper yet, Joe. @MonsterMetroid you will share a picture of the new pupper once you get it, right?

I feel like that might be... *jumping the gun* Somebody needed to say it. True to my word, livinglegend. Glad you are on the scene, and you don't strike me as a chalk hoarder (maybe a knife hoarder, but my character would not be aware of that).

If the eliminators have a quick player, they would still need to expose themselves to make a grab for the gun. But that won't really matter if everybody is grabbing for it. Seeing as we only have one gun, and it won't go anywhere if we don't use it... I would support not using it this cycle. Also, I do not plan to go for the map. You can take that as IKYK or whatever but I figure somebody else has probably already decided to go for it. I would do an RP but I have regrettably never read this book. D1 lynches are important I guess, so lets get things moving. @livinglegend livinglegend have a poke until you arrive on the scene.

I offer a special discount in exchange for identity spikes. Particularly atium ones, because unlike the aluminium ones, you can engrave those with forgeries. -
Heyo folks. Been kinda busy of late (had this plan that would have been amusing to see in action, but alas I was not able to try it) but I'll drop by to say, well played all. That was a good game. Joe I think your mistborn vs. eliminators vs. village mechanic worked brilliantly, and I would be interested in future games that do something similar.
