  1. Yeah Seonid definitely wins the prize as the most composed player. Seconded. @Darkness_ don't think many people have that kind of contribution level. I realize we basically didn't see eye-to-eye the entire game. But hey, I think the sheer volume of our argument gave this game some life If one of us dies, it's been an honor.
  2. Now, see, I'm fairly sure that this is a lot closer than I've ever come to telling another player what to do. And I'm not even saying you're being a mayor. You did say please, after all Regardless, I've chosen to trust Seonid.
  3. Exactly what it says on the tin. In theory, it seems like any sapient being should be able to hold a shard. In which case, a sapient spren probably qualifies. But if this is true it has some wierd implications.
  4. Good points. But doesn't Navani say on several occasions that what she does is more just organize / finance / lead the people who are the actual geeks about fabrial design? Don't get me wrong, Navani certainly understands fabrial design. My point isn't that she's no good at fabrial design and that she needs to hire experts who actually are. My point is that I think what she enjoys about her fabrial projects is the leadership part, not the technical part. When seen in that light, I believe this to be compatible with her being an extrovert.
  5. Huh, I missed Straw's claim. That said, I think we should believe Straw. Which means Steeldancer is cleared. And Araris is indeed the next best lead. So... I guess that means one of the shanes or aspen is liable to be an eliminator. The possibility that Seonid is the mistborn has definitely crossed my mind. Personally, I've decided to take that risk and trust Seonid, because I think that other people are more likely. Partially because I kind of think Seonid deserves to win if he was actually the unstable mistborn all along. But I acknowledge that this is possible.
  6. It occured to me that you might be able to do that, yes. Like I said, ideally this shouldn't be a consideration. I am glad you were able to put in an action. Still, I don't really think you are the mistborn. I do sort of think that you're an elim, but I really don't think you're the mistborn. Regardless, by my calculations, it may actually be somewhat better for the village to lynch a villager today than it would be to lynch an elim.
  7. Huh... That actually makes a lot of sense. I think you might well be right about HH. I'm not quite sold on Araris being the mistborn though. If Araris is indeed evil at all, my guess is he'd be the third elim, not a mistborn. Ideally these sort of considerations wouldn't be important, but I'm pretty sure Araris wasn't active one of the nights the mistborn killed somebody. They even gave advance warning about it. So... Hm. This is tricky. Living player list: Steeldancer- I'm basically certain that Steeldancer isn't an elim... But, come to think of it, he could be the mistborn. Straw- I know Straw's role, and it isn't mistborn. Probably not elim either, seeing how they acted in Ornstein lynch. Seonid- Potentially doing a really good job of lying, but I'm pretty sure Seonid is a villager. Hemalurgic Headshot- I believe HH is elim. Darkness- Village soother 2. Drake Marshall- Village smoker 2. shanerockes- Shane might conceivably be an elim, but I kind of doubt they are mistborn. And, if my guess about Araris and/or HH is correct, shane can't be an elim either. ShaneyRus- I don't think they are active enough to have submitted kill orders. Araris Valerian- I believe Araris is elim. Aspen- Also too inactive to be the mistborn, I think. If my theory holds about Araris and HH, I'm pretty sure that makes Steeldancer the mistborn. Part of why I didn't consider him earlier was that I had a village read on him, but I realize that the criteria for finding the mistborn really aren't the same as the criteria for finding an elim. @Steeldancer, you are totally at liberty to keep your role to yourself, but if you do have some kind of alibi for a night action, I will abandon my suspicions of you promptly. If nobody else backs this, I will switch my vote before the cycle ends to someplace it might count.
  8. Okay then, with Joe's clarifications I'm pretty sure that clears Darkness. Darkness, I wouldn't get too irritated at having to reveal that you are soother, because after the rules were made clear I suspect anybody could have connected those dots. Also, I scanned Straw on the first night. If somebody else targeted Straw with an action on that night, speak up. But otherwise? I'm pretty sure Straw can't be the mistborn. We have Shane and HH as suggested lynches. Both of those sound reasonable. Personally, I believe HH is our best bet.
  9. Soothing couldn’t confirm that I’m not mistborn, since I could have smoked myself (storms, to explain my lack of scan result I might even have claimed to have been soothed). It definitely couldn’t prove that I was a seeker 2 and not some other allomantic role. That said, if Darkness did sooth me, and no counterclaims exist, that clears him from being mistborn. If that isn’t the case, an explanation is definitely in order. So... We’re tragically low on villagers. Close to a lynch-or-lose scenario I think. This is in part because the mistborn and elims have yet to actually hit one another. It’s almost a little uncanny how they’ve avoided each other, and the end result doesn’t look good for the village. I’d be careful about this lynch. I’d suggest that we try to leverage the tie mechanic to potentially lynch two people, but that would leave things open for manipulators.
  10. Wait so are you saying you didn’t seek me? Huh. Now, perhaps I’m missing some details, but from your language it really looks like that’s what you were claiming to have done. I’ll retract my vote, Darkness, but please explain how you are able to confirm that I am a seeker. I am not aware of any abilities in this game that could have allowed you to confirm that last night. Unless a mistborn wanted to smoke themselves, and lie about a rolescan they are reasonably sure of. If I were the mistborn, I’d definitely take that route.
  11. Heyo folks. I'm not around today quite so much but I'll talk more tomorrow. However, I did drop by to check the result of my action. And I believe I've pieced something together. Bravo. I was indeed seeking Sart last night. I salute you. This is well crafted. Unfortunately, there's a complication. You're language clearly states that my role is what I said it was. Ergo, you are claiming to have scanned me with bronze. Thing is, somebody soothed me last night, and Joe told me I took no action as a result. Now, the wording "took no action" really makes me suppose that my bronze wouldn't have registered if you really had seeked me. Now, assuming Joe doesn't get back to me and say that I'm mistaken about how scanning works, I don't really see how there's any way you could be telling the truth. Kind of feels cheap to vote on you again, but I'd say this evidence more than justifies it. So far as I can tell you basically have to be the unstable mistborn. Darkness. EDIT: I guess I should probably mention people. @Steeldancer@Straw@Seonid@Hemalurgic Headshot@Darkness_@shanerockes@ShaneysRus@Araris Valerian@Aspen If we don't deal with the mistborn soon, we'll all be in a spot of trouble, so I encourage everybody to weigh in.
  12. Empathy is the sort of thing comes more easily for some than it does for others. It’s hardly fair that this is the case, but then, it’s also hardly fair that intellect comes more easily for some than it does for others. I do believe Jasnah tries her best.
  13. The title references three secrets. I just remembered that Joe said there was a maximum of three secret rules in this game.
  14. Because Lift and Nightblood are both eternally hungry?
  15. One thing to point out about spren children. When Shallan was speaking with Sja-Anat in Kholinar's oathgate, I seem to recall Sja-Anat heavily implying that the cryptics are her children. That said, I don't believe all of the sapient spren necessarily have to be created by massive spren like Stormfather or the Unmade. Before Stormfather took over, Honor personally created honorspren. It is possible that certain types of sapient spren just sort of coalesce at Cultivation, Honor, or Odium's perpendicularities.
  16. Mmmmm the smell of baking fills the Dark Alley. Many new members to further the glorious cause of cookie appreciation.
  17. Well then. That was a chaotic voting cycle, no? Elend's vote is an interesting development, but I was expecting some kind of vote manipulation to be in play. I am guessing that Elend's vote is susceptible to rioting. @A Joe in the Bush would you please confirm or deny? Also, the rules didn't explicitly say that rioting cancels the rioter's vote. Is that a thing? If Darkness were the unstable mistborn, he would very probably save himself. If Darkness were not the unstable mistborn, whoever it was would still probably want to save him, to make people think that he might be. So, assuming Elend's vote is indeed basically the result of rioting, I don't think it can tell us very much. I suppose there's not much to be done now but wait for more people to die. On the bright side, the elims might hit the mistborn, and the mistborn might hit the elims.
  18. Personally, I came here to play a game. Maybe that's just me, though. If you don't wish to talk about this after having initiated it, I won't make you play along. Peace out folks. I reckon you still have a good shot at solving this one.
  19. You may find my explanation for voting for you inadequate. But to say I have offered no explanation is rather untruthful. You seem to be implying that my role is giving me a power trip, and that this explains my demeanor. To attribute anything I have said to my role is massively condescending. When have I said anything that even remotely justifies this conclusion? Why precisely are you so confident that you have this all figured out? You have quite completely ignored my previous question, so I repeat: Where exactly have I done anything remotely dictatorial? Where have I told anyone what to do? Do you truly believe that "stating authoratively" is the best way to define being a mayor? If so, please explain why you are not currently "stating authoratively" that I am a mayor. There is an important distinction between asserting your beliefs and demanding that others adopt them, and I would ask that you learn it.
  20. Alright, in light of recent happenings, I should explain some things: I initially voted on Sart because his voting patterns seemed really confusing to me. I did not believe an eliminator would have been the first vote on the Ornstein counterwagon... But if not an eliminator, than perhaps the unstable mistborn. Then it occurred to me that Sart might be Tineye 2. That would explain why he is voting on people who others have overlooked. On realizing this, I retracted my vote. I did not want to reveal this suspicion, but it seems the confusion this matter is generating might get both Sart and myself killed, which would be counterproductive. At which point, I wasn't sure what to do next. I thought HH, Darkness, shanerocks, ShaneyRus, Aspen, or Steeldancer could all possibly be the unstable mistborn. All things held equal, I decided not to accuse a new player. And I didn't think Steeldancer was quite as likely. So I voted on Darkness. In part I wanted to gauge the reaction, though evidently I misjudged how Darkness would respond. Nonetheless, perhaps the reaction was informative. You see, if I were the unstable mistborn, I'd definitely have hopped on the Drakewagon once it had some momentum, hoping to keep people from focusing on the unstable mistborn. And it looked an awful lot like HH did exactly that. But the fact that HH just changed his mind muddies that a little. Without the liberal application of tinfoil, it would be hard to reconcile that with his being the unstable mistborn. So... As HH pointed out, maybe Straw's vote was shady? But from my scan on Straw, I don't think Straw is the unstable mistborn (if somebody targeted Straw last night with an action, you might want to speak up, because that would change everything). I think I may have been right about Darkness in the first place. That is starting to make more sense than the other options I've looked at. And in conclusion, my vote is staying where it is. I might be dead soon, which is, in fact, irrelevant. You can choose to trust me, or to kill me, but either way you'll know that my words are sincere. @Steeldancer @Straw @Droughtbringer @Seonid @Hemalurgic Headshot @Darkness_ @shanerockes @ShaneysRus @nutellaspren @Araris Valerian @Sart @Aspen
  21. As I will be dead soon, I will disclose the following information: I am seeker 2. I've scanned Straw. I will not disclose my result, but I don't believe Straw is evil. I predict the infiltrator team is Drought and ShaneysRus. I predict that HH is the unstable mistborn. Well. Forgive my saying so, but I don't think you took very kindly to recieving a vote. Perhaps you will not believe me, but I really don't care if you accuse me of being an eliminator. What I do care about is that your accusation is leveled against my character. I am going to say this once. I have no particular expectation, or even desire, to shape today's lynch with these words. But you would do well to remember them. I am a direct person. And I believe that self-effacing is a waste of time. If I believe I might be wrong about something, I will reevaluate it, and potentially change my way of thinking accordingly. The one who is confident is the one who can admit that they are wrong. Insecurity begets arrogance. But do not mistake confidence for commanding. When, pray tell, have I actually told anybody what to do? Present me with anything of the sort, and you will have my profuse apologies. You accuse me of "dictating what a sound decision is." How exactly am I "dictating" anything? I believe it is a sound decision. Am I not allowed to express my personal beliefs? If you think I am forcing my beliefs upon others, you are putting words in my mouth. When have I attempted to pass off my own beliefs as anything other than my own beliefs?? If you feel that your free agency is threatened, you have my sympathy. But do not presume to assign the fault for this at my feet. Also, my username has two L's in it.
  22. Happy new year, folks. Lets hope is a good one, hm? Many things have been said of me, but this may be a new thing. Regardless, I may be in the process of solving the game but the operative word there is process. I’m thinking out loud, and I’ll probably change my vote yet again before the cycle ends. I like to look at things from many angles. If you are looking to catch an elim, I’m becoming increasingly sure that your current vote is in the right place. Keeping your vote where it is would be a sound decision. I would follow suit, however I believe there is a larger threat to be reckoned with.
  23. Cool, thank you for checking in. Take your time to adjust and figure things out. This community is kind of in the midst of figuring out how to deal with inactivity, but please don’t take that as a sign of impatience as you just start out. That said, I think you might find that the things you say don’t always have to be flawlessly reasoned and polished. Even just checking in, like you did just now, is greatly appreciated.
