  1. Silver, if you skipped Lhan and Taravangian, you're going to regret it. eveorjoy, I don't know for sure what time it will be available. There are only rumors.
  2. The first book's Ars Arcanum already said Adhesion.
  3. This part of this compound glyph just says Kholin. Glyphs don't always have to be formed in pairs.
  4. You know, the line right after this glimpse is really funny.
  5. I met him in 1998 but didn't really hang out with him until 99.
  6. I guess you'll just have to RAFO.
  7. If this glimpse actually gave away that Lopen or Kaladin was flying, do you think I would have approved it?
  8. Discworld is not really a series though. It's a setting. Any two books might have nothing to do with each other, or they might be closely related. With Doctor Who I think starting at Christopher Eccleston is fine. Starting at Matt Smith is also possible, but then you'd miss David Tennant, and who would want to do that?
  9. Nazh is not the tattooist.
  10. You're not reading it carefully enough.
  11. Glyph meaning is often shape-based for the benefit of the nearly illiterate. I currently plan to attend JordanCon.
  12. I started Discworld on book 3 followed by book 4. Those are great entry points, and so is Guards! Guards! I only went back and read the first two later, and I consider them not good books, with the second one marginally better than the first. The Rincewind books are my least favorite; I only really like the Luggage and the Librarian. The Tiffany Aching books are also great entry points.
  13. Nazh is a dude. And he's not the person doing the Ars Arcana. Also, you will see all the numbers somewhere in the book.
  14. The readings were not final versions, though the prologue changed the most since then.
  15. The highstorm in chapter 75 of book 1 happens after midnight, the day after the Tower. Chapter 1 and chapter 2 of book 2 happen later in the morning of that day.
  16. I started reading Shift by Hugh Howey. Got to the end of First Shift and I'm not going to continue. This is an idea book rather than a character book, and the idea is not very compelling. Got 50 pages into the Wayfarer Redemption by Sara Douglass, and am not continuing. The POV is really loose and no one is interesting. The looming evil just seems really generic. Finished Dragon Haven by Robin Hobb and it was very satisfying. Dragon Keeper and Dragon Haven need to be read as one book, because Dragon Keeper has no end whatsoever. Splitting a book is never a good idea. I need to pick up the next two of those, but first I'm reading some manuscripts by various people who want a cover quote from Brandon.
  17. A week is 5 days. But yes, Hesina was including travel time starting before his birthday. I think it's understandable they'd want to get Kaladin out of town as soon as reasonably possible. Also, we have the Words of Radiance timeline worked out day by day, and diligent readers will be able to reproduce the timeline.
  18. It is on Audible UK now. (48 hours 35 minutes.)
  19. You can increase the text size on your phone. That's one of the best things about ebooks. I like large text.
  20. You know, it's best not to get too hyped before reading something. Getting too hyped increases the possibility the book will disappoint you.
  21. Weller does the best job they can to make the books arrive Tuesday, but shipping times can be unpredictable. They're just a small bookstore that has to use the local post office (though I assume the post office comes to pick up the books from them); they're not a big conglomerate that has fulfillment centers right next to airports.
  22. If you find a store that will sell it to you on Monday instead of Tuesday, that is actually fine too. It just has to be after Sunday, because Sunday is the last day of the publishing week.
  23. Brandon has never hit #1 on the adult hardcover fiction list for a solo book. So a strict release date really does matter.
