  1. Interesting chart. How did you decide on those 4 Actions for Dawnshards?
  2. This is a fun activity rather than a serious theory. You are creating an interworld team to combat Odium and the Ghostbloods etc. I'm going to suggest a limit of two characters per Shardworld, and no gods or near gods, though I'll let you set your own rules. Whom do you pick and why? Thinking about how they interact as well as act. You can equip them as long as you can explain how they have access to that equipment. You can decide how much timeline timings matter to you personally
  3. Hell, I don't even know how much more blatant Sanderson could be over saying "Journey Over Destination"
  4. That recovery is slow, and sometimes not steady but rather has its ups and downs and sacrifices and requires patience and love and nurturing is a KEY tenet of Stormlight Archive, and one that many readers seem to struggle with. When people get frustrated at how Kal's recovery is slow and he takes huge steps backwards, I get it, but that's THE POINT. Sanderson is trying to make us frustrated because then we realise that people in real life get frustrated with people with mental health or development or emotional issues. We are meant to reflect on how we respond to these stories, and the same goes for Maya or Shallan or Szeth etc. There are no quick fixes and that's something that IS frustrating in real life, but if we cover this up and pretend in Fantasy that things are easy and won't get worse again, we encourage, when conscious or not, that perspective towards real life.
  5. Well, except we know the next Mistborn book is the Lost Metal, and could easily be about Atium, and it's been theorised with evidence that there's a left over excess of Ruin (due to extra Preservation in Humanity but Harmony being balanced) which would be delayed in growing back by the destruction of Hathim but would eventually come back approximately when Wax and Wayne are set, and that the Lost Metal probably just about precedes RoW... I think there's a solid chance Atium is back and taking it off world could be a way to stop it unbalancing Harmony I'm not sure it's right but I think it's a good suggestion
  6. Hey! Pretty sure I also saw this on Facebook I agree with 3 and 4 of hated but TOTALLY disagree with 1 and 2 Rayse being NB'ed and dying and Mr T becoming Odium and confirmation that Cultivation was planning something like this is a HUGE Cosmere scene! Huge implications, as does the reveal that Kel is Thaidakar. And I like the slow pace on Maya's recovery. It makes it a more realistic allegory for the neurodevelopmentally and cognitively injured, and long term the payoff will feel more meaningful, imo.
  7. Also, on the shipping front, I'm not sure how I feel about it (genuine mixed emotions given everything it involves) but I can only really see Kaladin ending up, if he does with anyone, with Syl after this book. Partly it's sweet as she seems to properly love him. Enough to go into the Darkness inside for him. Whether that ends up being a weird romantic love or a chaste one or a purely platonic one I'm not sure yet. A small part of me is sad because I always thought he'd pair up well with Azure
  8. I think it's as close as it could be to being explicitly stated that Kel is Thaidakar.
  9. But having said that, given that plan, by Preservation, has already worked once, I think it's more likely and more interesting that this plan doesn't work
  10. Well, that would make Ruin and Mercy a bad combo. You can't (not actually, though you could claim to) "Mercy -kill" someone and hate them. Of course whether it's a good idea or not (lots of Shard's ideas aren't!) doesn't mean it's not part of the plan.
  11. I'm not sure I agree that there is any sense of humour or feel that inherently marks a book to be for young adults. I genuinely wish the literary term "YA" would die the death it so deeply deserves. It is so often used to extend past its actual use of a target demographic.
  12. Probably Mistborn Era 1 though that might be because it's complete! I think SA is the best written series
  13. It's probably Words of Radiance on balance. Mistborn The Lost Metal meant to be this next year. Though I'm not sure it'll be ready post editing until 2022.
  14. After a 2 1/2 year absence, I am back post working through RoW. I realise there's not been a lot of Cosmere stuff at all in that time!
  15. My thoughts being Kal has solved some of his issues with others not being saved and letting them make their own choices in this book, but he's still phenomenally bad at self-care
  16. Been a loooong while since I've been on here! Just want to say, I don't think any Dawnshards can be too close to an Intent. It just feels wrong and if Destroy is a Dawnshard then the implication that more than one of them was used to split Adonalsium makes little sense. So Change for sure is one. I think any others would have to be vaguer than Create or Destroy. Maybe Begin? If we are going down a God route, maybe Know or See?
  17. True, but this is purposeful and necessitates the pairing of young actresses with older actors for these characters (though no others) if they want to keep that aspect. Though, as Siri would probably be slightly aged up and Susebron can be played by a somewhat younger actor than his official age - but there will still be a gap
  18. This would be less extreme in the film I’m sure and the actor playing Susebron can be younger as he is meant to look younger, but the age gap is meant to be key, as it demonstrates Susebron’s naivety being a result of his sheltered life
  19. Isn't young woman with much older man the only canon relationship between living characters in this book? And plot-specific?
