  1. But shardpools still exist after the splintering of a Shard. Would they not potentially exist after the amalgamation of Shards?
  2. I agree with you, but would like to add that just because Odium doesn't have to fight Shards wouldn't necessarily stop him from wanting to and from being driven to by his Intent. Watching people die from something else can be hate-filled but it seems less so than attacking them
  3. Would be interesting if he used it as a metalmind. If he hasn't burnt it, and the theory that he Soothes Shallan is correct, how do we think Hoid became a Mistborn (or Misting I suppose)? And in fact a Ferruchemist? Also, if Lerasium can make you a Mistborn due to its link to Preservation, and Atium would link you to Ruin, could you become a Ferruchemist by burning both at once? Or by using a Lerasium spike?
  4. That WOB to me, along with the other one about each order having its own colour, still says to me that Lighteyes, on teh whole, came from genetically carrying over the Lighteyes caused by surgebinding and having a full Nahel Bond, but that each order has a set colour their eyes would change to, but it just doesn't affect Lighteyes as their sDNA already has Lighteyes and doesn't register the change from the invesititure? So what people were saying earlier
  5. Now that the two Shards no longer exist and thus the stores of both God Metals logically would no longer replenish, is there enough Atium and Lerasium left for either to be the Lost Metal? Or do we think the Shardpools will still exist and produce Metals because they precede Harmony and he won't have taken them up?
  6. If may be recalling wrongly, but didn't (Mistborn spoilers) Actually I'm pretty sure I'm wrong. Nevermind
  7. What does Lerasium ACTUALLY do in Allomancy? Boosting your Allomancy ability or creating a Mistborn are just side effects, aren't they? We don't know what its main action is
  8. Just saying, the BBC have a new mini-series right now starring Hiddlestone and Lawrie
  9. Inspired by His Dark Materials, do you think you can use a Shardblade to cut someone else's Nahel Bond?
  10. NO! Elantrians!
  11. It is, I believe, a phrase borrowed from Brandon Sanderson from Robert Jordan
  12. Ok, fair enough. Still doesn't make much sense. Frost's reply implies a good relationship, ish, with Hoid, and if Frost IS their boss, Hoid must be planning something by telling him that the trail they are following is false, surely?
  13. I'm not convinced that Frost is confirmed to lead the 17th Shard. They are referred to as "his friends". Which could mean many things. In fact, if Frost and Hoid can exchange letters, and thus presumably Frost and the 17th Shard too, it makes little sense for Hoid to tell Frost that the 17th Shard is on a false trail if they are obeying Frost's orders in chasing Hoid. Of course, making little sense doesn't rule it out for Hoid or it could be part of a larger bluff. But I don't think Frost is in the 17th Shard. I think he's strictly non-interventionalist and a conduit for wr readers to garner Cosmere information as a recipient and sender of 2 interesting letters, and that Hoid wants his help
  14. Actually, based on the language of the Ars and the Second Letter, can probably add Khriss and Frost to Hoid
  15. It's pedantry. She's not actually "technically" being poetic, and prosaic comes from the word prose, and being of prose is another meaning rather than mundane. She's taking a phrase and being rather flippant about it. I actually really like how pedantic and borderline facetious it is.
  16. Realmatically, the exact opposite to a Shardblade attack is occurring, right? A shard blade exists essentially on the spiritual plane and cuts there (the soul, hence it's effect on living things) but also damages in the physical realm (slicing through all matter bar shardblade and other blades). Silver exists on te physical and would cut there but also damages in the spiritual plane. Now, blades do this as they are a tiny splinter of a Shard and thus quite invested, is silver invested too to have this effect?
  17. Hoid implies that he is not interested in Shallan based on age and notes only one woman (Cultivation's holder) is his age on Roshar. Though the theory and implications are interesting, I can't see Hoid having a mayfly romance with a human
  18. To be fair, in a world where planet names don't have much meaning in English, and with a word as poetic as Threnody, Hoid does jump out as the person likeliest (whom we have met) to name a world Threnody. He loves his stories
  19. Magic genetics and genetics when the manipulations of Shards get involved is more complex (see Scadrial) and there's no actual Cosmere reason that the eye colour can't be passed down like this. Shades of, although also very distinct from, what the LR did with Skaa and Nobles. Also, Kal isn't a full Radiant yet as far as we know? There are still thought to be more oaths. Maybe the colour will be permanent when he becomes one?
  20. That was Kaladin's conclusion, or implied conclusion, wasn't it? It does sound to me like the original humans all had dark eyes but Radiancy introduced Lighteyes into the world and this potentially became genetic and continued? And that's why Lighteyes are the elite, due to the intrinsic link to Radiants in their past. It's made more interesting because as far as we have seen, don't the heralds we meet have dark eyes? Shalash we aren't sure on, and I can't remember Kalak (if it is him) having his eyes mentioned in Jasnah's chapter, but Nan and "Taln" definitely have dark eyes, right?
  21. WOB it? I might use this one if I make a pre-order in the near future...
  22. But we know Allomancy at least works in Roshar, don't we? It's suspected that Hoid Soothed Shallan
