  1. Considering their ages, they are likely to be attracted to more than one person in the entire series
  2. I'd say sadly j can't imagine Sanderson going edgy enough to create an equal, balanced, bisexual one true romantic threesome, but I suppose he did get the polygamy practice from finishing wheel of time...
  3. Everyone seems to be assuming that if a relationship forms between Kaladin and Shallan it will all be cliche and end happily. I can rather see the possibility for some good old fashioned tragedy here. IF it happens They definitely have the beginnings of feelings but we all know that in real life whether these mutually (when they are a touch ambiguous, a mix of attractions rather than just sexual) become friendships, romantic relationships, something else or one for one and something different for the other can depend on the subtlest of contexts, timings and taken or left chances. The possibility is there, but that same possibility can become friendship, or awkwardness, or even animosity depending on how circumstances change its evolution. So let's wait and see
  4. It's Braize the entire planet trapped in a sphere
  5. Absolutely this. Syl herself notes that Amaram makes Kaladin a worse person
  6. I expect we will get an exploration of the nature of crime, guilt and punishment. Exploring these issues and demonstrating that there may in fact not be just one rigid way of thinking about them is, for me, exactly what literature (and especially speculative fiction) should be aiming to do: provoking entertainment, emotion, thought and reflection
  7. Maybe they follow the Gaiman law of opposites- Dream is Reality too because both define each other. Lies and truth define each other- liespren could just as easily be called truthspren? They need truths...
  8. Maybe oathpact can be used to apply to any similar mutually binding promise, just as Shardblade is a derivative of both the honourblades and the fact that spren are of shards?
  9. Isn't the implication that they betrayed their oaths or decided to, their spren died and became shard blades and then they ritually discarded their screaming blades in front of feverstone keep? That's what I read from the WOB
  10. Syl says she is a little piece of a god- implied to me that she is in fact part of Honour (through investiture? Post shattering? When honour sends the visions to Dalinar, are they from Honour's past or future?), so that can explain why they act like honour and why they can't leave Roshar
  11. I can't imagine they'd want to be bound, and I suspect they could notice the spren. Also, they aren't exactly normal humans, might be that they can't be bound
  12. He has his powers, implied by Lift he says he "is awesome too" and his speed implies he may be using stormlight. As he is a herald, not a radiant, the implication is that he has his own honour blade as that is where heralds are thought to get their surgebinding from, but this may be a false supposition or he may also be a radiant (unlikely given his current actions?)
  13. Good work, but I think Hoid implies Cultivation. Is alive. He says that there's only lady who is his own age on Roshar, and given his own age that basically means the person is a Shard, and that basically makes it Cultivation
  14. Szeth does recognise him. And he has cronies
  15. I suspect all the heralds are mad in different ways. And I suspect Nin can justify murder to himself by using the Parshendi, who would be commiting war not crime
  16. Dalinar bonded the blade that Taln had when he arrived at the shattered plains. It is clear from the descriptions and WOB that this is NOT the blade Taln dropped at Kholinar As a side point, I think Nin took the honourblade. He's sending Szeth to get the other honourblades. He has the means. He's a herald who wants to curtail surgebinding and probably sees the blades as his. He has acquired another "special" shard in Nightblood.
  17. In fact I'd say it's close to canon. In Jasnah's prologue in WOR she finds 2 men, one is Nin the other possibly another herald or another person, at the site of Szeth's attack just before it, and the one who isn't Nin says "I don't like this. What we've done was wrong. That creature carries my lord's (so could be related to windrunners or to heralds as Jezrien is Lord of both) own Blade. We shouldn't have let him keep it. He_" This definitely implies they are involved in Szeth, know all about him and actively let him keep the Blade, possibly when they gave the Parshendi his oathstone?
  18. Nin even. He even says Szeth has seen him before, I presume it was at the feast?
  19. Nan does sound like he's been following Szeth carefully, and he is known to want to prevent the Desolations by any mean necessary, I assume he'd to have to Parshendi do it because he can't pay an assassin/do things himself as it would break the law, and the Parshendi would not be held to Alethi Laws, making him not an accomplice to breach of law, maybe?
  20. Or both the first two, or have had depressive issues themselves. Or all of the above, depression is pretty poorly understood and very different for lots of people
  21. Ah, damnation it. Still could be a ploy by one Parshendi to force them into accepting their gods back, whilst keeping her in control
  22. It also is interesting that Gavilar seems unsurprised at what Szeth can do, and says "I've been expecting you" or words like that- not an assassin, but Szeth.
  23. Sounds like part of a Xanatos gambit to me. Convince the other Parshendi to agree to assassinate Gavilar to stop the gods coming back, get the stone thing he had when Szeth returns to you, use this to bring your gods back anyway and use the war you have guessed the Alethi will wage on you to make your people desperate enough to agree to let their gods in and take stormformDo we know what Szeth did with the dark sphere? Could he have given it to his master? If so, I think Eshonai's sister is the one
  24. JK Rowling's Magic is simply never explained, just saying
