  1. What gives you the impression of Dalinar being dead? Also, @axcellence the WoB didn't say that Dalinar would survive. It was something in the vein of this: Questioner: I love Dalinar, dont kill him! Brandon: You will enjoy Oathbringer (evil grin). Mind, this is not the WoB, it is how I remember it, so take it with three spoons of salt and a cup of orange. But its late, and I won't WoB hunt now, but I think my memory is pretty on point this time. In either case, Brandon never outright said: Dalinar survives book 3. He did imply it, but he didn't say it outright. @Extesian master of WoBs, can you find the WoB, if you have time?
  2. I think he will last a while longer, probably to be a part of Kaladins character development. It wouldn't surprise me if he became likeable, only to immediately be killed by Voidbringers afterwards. A Roshone POV wouldn't be surprising either.
  3. So, I wanted to make a topic for this. As noted in the discussion for chapters 4-6 of Oathbringer, the parshmen/voidbringers in Hearthstone are gone. We also have (Edgedancer spoilers): So, where are they going? To buy a chouta? Play hide and seek? Talk to Stick? My theory is that they are building an army. Odiums first Voidbringer army, the one at Narak, got obliterated by the Alethi and the storms. I guess Rayse wants a new one, so he is probably gathering the Voidbringers into one massive unit. That way, they will become a bigger threat, and could also be used to assault Kholinar later on, something we know will happen. In addition, there is a possibility that this army is led by Unmade, or that the Unmade are guiding the Voidbringers toward the meeting-place. Maybe both. So, what do you think? Is Odium building his Great Voidbringer Army?
  4. To offer some variation on the subject I will use my limited WoT experience (I am at the beginning of book 5) to answer this. The answer is basically yes, I think you should read it, but beware that it has flaws. Now, flaws is a subjective thing, but here are the ones I have: -It is overly descriptive. There are long sections of descriptions of stuff, which gets kind of tedious after a while. Jordan is like Tolkien concerning this in my opinion. Loooong descriptions. And there are a lot of them too. -Characters. Some are great, some are, well, not great. Now again, I am only four completed books into the 13-book series that is WoT but so far, there are characters that leaves no lasting impression except blandness, to me (Egwene and Elayne for example). The awesome people (Mat and Lan for example) kind of makes up for this though.
  5. She was mentioned as being one of the people in the elevator with Dalinar right before the wedding. She is mentioned in chapter two as well, as one of those who Dalinar speaks to. He tells her and Renarin to practice with their powers so that they can help lead the other Radiants later.
  6. Not speaking during the wedding is in-character for Shallan, but I am still surprised that she didn´t say much when ordered to train. Perhaps she just agreed with Dalinars decision and decided there was no point in talking.
  7. This is certainly possible. However, we do have the damaged hovel where the parshmen used to be, and I also think that Odium would want an army somewhere. We already know that his forces will attack Kholinar, so it seems likely that they are gathering.
  8. I think it is either the new surgeon apprentice or a new sibling for Kaladin.
  9. I can see two options here: 1. They were inside and thus not directly affected by the storm, which means that they avoided transformation. 2. Odium is gathering them all up somewhere to get a functional army, and so every Voidbringer goes straight to the gathering place, without attacking anyone. Odiums last army was pretty much obliterated, so he needs a new one. Maybe this hypotetical army is what will assault Kholinar later in the book?
  10. I am pretty sure that this thread will make us all run out of upvotes very quickly.
  11. Okay, my thoughts: -The pure crystal voice might be Cultivation. @Michael Portz Distant yet demanding doesn´t sound like Tien. -Elhokars behavior in this chapter makes me think he will take on a more antagonistic role, as @maxal has proposed. -Jasnah is a good suggestion for the Oathbringer author, but I will stick to my idea of it being Ishar a while longer (even though I´m probably wrong). -Dalinar probably did something that resulted in his wifes death. His trip to the Nightwatcher was probably his first step to achieve control over himself and getting rid of the Thrill. -Shallan still has no lines of dialogue. -Another mention of Aladars daughter. -Also, I want to see Mraize and Amaram soon!
  12. I was just about to do that! Guess you ain't called Flash for nothing, eh?
  13. I just love its design, I find it cute. I think I'm the only one though.
  14. Welcome! Have a nice time on here! Watch out for cookies as well.
  15. Gargamel is defenitely a Voidbringer, maybe even an Unmade.
  16. I'd like it if Szeth started to dress in blue. The Assassin in Blue, slayer of smurfs. Imagine the awesomeness.
  17. May he rest in peace.
  18. @Mierinx I doubt you will offend anyone. Most people around here are very accepting and happy to see different views on stuff. I think your post added something to the thread, because there are people who dislikes Sandersons WoT books a lot, but I don't think it got mentioned until now. Anyway, good post (I cant say wether I agree or disagree, since I'm only on Fires of Heaven).
  19. I can make those vanish too...
  20. Hrathen. He is well-trained, and Breeze is kind of lazy. Who could throw a pig the farthest, Rysn or Axies?
  21. If they had done that, we would have missed out on the best Pokemon ever: Palpitoad.
  22. I believe people see similiarities between him and black stereotypes or something. I hve even heard people call him racist.
  23. I can make stuff vanish!
  24. A koloss. Bigger chance of survival. Who would build the best snowman, Breeze or Dockson?
  25. They can become bonded however. Good points. Syl or Pattern didn't notice any spren around Renarin at all, but he is (supposedly) a Radiant, so I doubt Syl and Pattern are great at sprenspotting. I also think Voidspren are good at hiding.
