  1. @Harry the Heir I won't bring Mistborn up more, but the point I wanted to make with it is that a characters role in the story determines how we see them. Had Taravangian or Amaram been protagonists, with as much page-time as Kaladin, Vin, Vivenna or other major Sandercharacters, we would have felt sympathy for them, and thought of them as good, or at least, not evil.
  2. @Captains Domon Do Kingsman. Or Blade Runner.
  3. I forgot to mention Loki (MCU/Tom Hiddleston version). I love Loki.
  4. Upvote for good initiative @Calderis! As for the topic at hand, I wonder if Dalinar will become a mentor figure for Shallan, just like he is to Kaladin? I also think that she will become more positive towards the Ghostbloods. I suspect that they are a lot more morally grey than she thought in the beginning.
  5. First off, its nice to see a Shallan/Kaladin/Adolin discussion where Shallan is the center, and not Adolin or Kaladin. Second, I disagree with the notion that Adolin is bad for Shallan. By learning to be honest with him, Shallan will gain more as a character than just taking the easy route with Kaladin. I think that Shallan has more room to grow with Adolin. Furthermore, I'm not really convinced that Kaladin would be all that great when it comes to Blades. Adolin is the more compassionate individual, so I think that he would be able to help her better.
  6. I strongly doubt Eshonai as Odiums champion. It is predictable. A lot of people can see it coming. The champions identity is likely to be a plot-twist.
  7. Now THIS is likely.
  8. Yeah, I know this. Its just a gut feeling I have. Liss seems too mentally stable.
  9. In that case, your Ishar-Herald might be Chana... and Liss might be Ishar who shaved and dressed up like a woman.
  10. He will most likely go with Szeth to Shinovar, or decide to go punish Ishar. I think Nale might start to be a good guy now.
  11. Ah, I think I understand now. Thanks! Looks like you taught me something new about Cosmere healing :-)
  12. I don´t see this at all. Sadeas was a selfish bastard, and while he was willing to die at some occasions (playing decoy at Gavilars murder) he would not want to do it now. He was far too selfish by this stage, and also afraid of dying without a legacy. He would not want to be remebered as "the douchebag who got stabbed in the eye". Furthermore, he appeared to be very scared when fighting Adolin.
  13. Uh... I don´t get what you mean, to be honest. Do you think that it doesn´t matter how Hobber sees himself, that he will manage to heal no matter what?
  14. Who does evil for evils sake, or purely because of power, enjoyment, and such. If someone fits into one of those cathegories I might call that someone evil. But I generally believe that evil is a simplification, and that there are very few, if any, purely evil people.
  15. Which Brandon character has the coolest/funniest/best name?
  16. @Harry the Heir If actions define peoples goodness, then the following characters from Mistborn should be evil: Yet we don't see those people as evil. When protagonists do evil things, we can easily separate actions from the person itself. But when antagonists are bad, we make stuff much more simple than it actually is.
  17. I like the Han Solo type of character (who doesn't?) but I can see why Adolin wouldn't fit (fingers crossed for Mraize to be the dark Han Solo). I'd still like it if Adolin became the Stormlight Han though. Otherwise, becoming a Radiant via Blade therapy is cool, and very likely to happen in OB (I think there is a WoB about Adolins arc in OB being awesome). I also want Adolins murder of Sadeas to be revealed.
  18. Thank you Mestiv. I am the original (and first) scadrian toaster!
  19. @Steeldancer I love summoning people. They come at my bidding.
  20. Im an Originator, which means that I'm big in Scadrian history books!
  21. Interesting. Where did you find Jezrien? Some popular forum theories for the others are: -Kalak as the guy who hangs out with Nale at Gavilars party. -Ishar as either Tezim, the Tukari god-priest mentioned a couple of times, or possibly as an ardent in the Palaneum (the second one is by @Steeldancer, I'll summon him in case he wants to speak for it himself). -Paliah as an ardent in the Palaneum. I belive someone got this one confirmed per a WoB in a signed book. -Chana as Liss, the assassin hired by Jasnah in the WoR prologue. I don't subscribe to this one, personally, but there are people who do. -The main theory for Jezrien is the drunk guy talking to Szeth at the WoK prologue? Is this your idea too, or do you have another theory?
  22. The thing with Kaladin seems to be that he isn't really looking for relationships, friendly or not, in the same way that Adolin does. He doesn't want to go drinking with his men, for example. Adolin on the other hand always looks for social situations, for opportunities to talk to and befriend people. But he has problems succeeding with it on a deeper level. Having Adolin and Shallan get together would be a huge step for Adolins character, and a way for him to deal with his relationship-problems. For Kaladin it would be just another cool thing happening. I honestly think that not getting Shallan would move Kaladin in more interesting directions than getting her would. And for those who say that Kaladin needs Shallan to get over his light-eyes hate, well, we already have Adolin, Dalinar, Elhokar, Amaram and Roshone for that part of his character. He can resolve that with them. There is no need of Shallan there.
  23. I leafed through Mistborn: Sista Riket (Final Empire) at the library. What bothered me the most was the metal translations.
  24. Straff is a swedish word too. It means punishment. And Vin is swedish for wine.
