Dragonsteel chapter(s)
Toaster Retribution replied to Steeldancer's topic in Sanderson Curiosities & Unpublished Works
Or it is just like Roshar, where the continent and planet has the same name. -
Anyone remember Jin? The Ghostblood Mraize made Shallan draw in WoR? The guy has golden hair, which points to him being Irali. Could this mean that the Ghostbloods has a connection to the Irali, their potential Shard, and the exodus of their people from planet to planet. Or is Jin just a random Irali?

The middle of the Cosmere would make sense. If not, probably around the Taldain-Roshar-Scadrial area. Most planets we have seen are in that edge of the Cosmere. I doubt they are in the area with the Scar, considering that Yolen might be around there, and Khriss hasn't found it yet.

[OB] Worldhoppers You'd Like to See in Oathbringer

Era 2 is after WoK so it won't work. Good thinking though.- 12 replies

I just don't think Lauren Cohen would be believeable as a teenager. She is too old.

As a huge Mraize fan, I really love this idea. It would allow Mraize (and the Ghostbloods, by extension) to start interacting with other people than Shallan. I'd love to see Mraize having a conversation with Adolin, for example.

Aimians and the Nightwatcher
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
Well, I theorized that they got immortality from the Nightwatcher, in exchange of bad luck. I don't think the Sleepless ruins the theory, but it could be an argument against it.- 17 replies

@JoyBlu I saw you asking about Mraizes worldhopper status, but there is a WoB (apologies if someone already posted it):

[OB] Oathbringer Outline [Preview Chapter Spoilers]
Toaster Retribution replied to vividox's topic in Stormlight Archive
It wouldn't be a Stormlight book without a random ardent Interlude. -
Feruchemy has the perfect mix between badass and things you could need on a daily basis, so I voted that. I'd love Surgebinding as well though.

So you are basically saying that a Listener automatically turns into Dullform as a safe-mode when picking up a spren that won't give them another form? Sounds good to me.

I just thought about Ego from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. He is a celestial (god with small g, at least when he feels humble) and is basically a planet. But he can also create an avatar that travels through space. Could a Shard do the same? Create a body to send out into the Cosmere, to visit places and people? Preservation kind of had an avatar, but it never moved beyond Scadrial. So, do you think this is possible?

[OB] Worldhoppers You'd Like to See in Oathbringer
Toaster Retribution replied to Goatbringer's topic in Stormlight Archive
Spoilers for the non-released part of Oathbringer: As for worldhoppers I'd like to see... Baon. I haven't read White Sand but he sounds like a cool character. Would be neat to see him again, with an update on the Hoid-chasing. We know Felt is on Roshar too. I liked him in Mistborn, so I hope to see him again in OB. As for Wayne, OB is before Era 2, so it wouldn't work.- 12 replies

[OB] Ialai and Sadeas were deeply in love

Yeah. Everyone is capable of love (except Odium, poor fella). -
Shardic organization and new shards
Toaster Retribution replied to Generalbacon74's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Who knows, maybe Brightlord Timberlake is Ambitions vessel? And honestly, that dream sounds hilarious. As for the idea of this thread, it is good thinking/dreaming. I am not really into some of your Shard suggestions (Instinct is a wierd intent) while others such as Numb are kind of cool. I think it is a workable pattern, but I would probably change up the Shards a bit. I'll think more about this. -
[OB] What is up with Mraize and Ialai?
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
This is fun, since Mraize technically is the Mraize, due to it being a title. -
[OB] What is up with Mraize and Ialai?
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
We don't know the timeline exactly, so it is hard to tell. It is possible that he figured Shallans identity in time and saved them for her. He most likely had men watching the Davar estate already, and should be able to contact them easily with a spanreed. I agree that it is possible that he saved them for another reason at first, but I think he will find that other reason less important compared to Shallan, and give her her brothers back. -
[OB] What is up with Mraize and Ialai?
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
@SLNC I´ll guess we will see soon (next week hopefully). My personal theory is that Mraize will just stand there and appear as an ally/spymaster/bodyguard/servant to Ialai during the meeting, and add tension to the scene. This will tell us (and Shallan) that Mraize is controlling Ialai. I doubt much else will come out of the scene (except for Ialai/Adolin interactions) but it will build up the Ghostblood arc in this book. I just wanted to voice my sincere doubt about one point in your otherwise well-crafted theory. -
Welcome! Edgedancer shows a pretty huge change in an important characters motivations and world-view. You can read Oathbringer first, as long as you read it with the knowledge that a certain character who acts out-of-character really isn´t acting out-of-character, but has had significant development in Edgedancer.

[OB] What is up with Mraize and Ialai?
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think he did it to show Shallan goodwill, yes. The Ghostbloods are an organization built on loyalty, just as you said. You get loyalty by showing goodwill, and by acting kindly toward your followers, like Kelsier for example. I think Mraize runs his organization in a similar manner, and I think he was honest when he told Shallan that he would give her brothers to her for free. Does he do it because he is a kind person, or because he likes Shallan? No, probably not. He does it because he wants her loyalty. But I think he realizes that using leverage is a bad way to go. -
[OB] What is up with Mraize and Ialai?
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
I doubt he will take any drastic actions against her until he has gotten time to show her why she should be loyal. He knows that she has little reason now, and that she dislikes them because of the attempted murder of Jasnah. He saved her brothers to show his good will, and he offered her truth and information. I doubt he will react to this show of disloyalty, since there is no real reason for her to be loyal yet, and he knows it. -
I find it funny that everyone thought Ialai would ally with Amaram, but no one saw Mraize coming, despite the fact that he basically is Amarams counterpart in the Ghostbloods. Speaking of Amaram, where the heck is he? Wasn´t he supposed to go to Urithiru? He is slow as a turtle.

I have liked her chapters so far, but with Mraize back in the picture, it will be really fun. This far, current Dalinars chapters have been my favorites, with Kaladin being my least favorite, most likely because he is isolated from all the characters, and all the things that I find most interesting. No one is boring to read though, by any means, and the Kaladin chapters are good, especially when it comes to morality, and right and wrong, and such stuff. That is where Kaladin tends to shine most anyway, so its not surprising. I just wish he had a fun side-character with him (not overly fond of Sylphrenia).

[OB] What is up with Mraize and Ialai?
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
First off, sorry for attacking your theories today. Its nothing personal But I really don´t agree with this quote. I don´t think Mraize would draw that conclusion this quickly. He hasn´t even talked to Shallan about Helaran and the goal of the Ghostbloods yet. And she is a KR, which means that she is valueable. Mraize will not want to lose her, and so he will tread carefully. It would be stupid of him to assume that she will never be a loyal Ghostblood, when she still has no idea about what the organization is trying to achieve. And we can probably call Mraize a lot of things, but stupid really isn´t one of them.
