1) It's been asked before 2) Brandon RAFO's all questions about Nightblood vs Shardblade. Probably because we will get answer in Oathbringer.

It sure went viral, though...

Two years ago we had a social campaign about an app which allows to check whether the bus is safe or not. The thing is, the ministry started with that video: (prepare for feels)

So, we have magic systems, we have Shards and we Investiture [citation needed]. How do pure Investiture come into play into magic systems? Sel Nohow. Seons don't do anything in AonDor. AonDor and other systems are powered by Shards' Investiture, like Allomancy. Elantrians become Invested by Shaod, which probably messes with Innate Investiture. Nalthis Endowment's Splinters are Divine Breaths, superpowered Breaths equal to 2 000 normal Breaths. Innate Investiture (which is Breath) is the fuel for the magic System, but Endowment doesn't fuel Awakening like Allomancy is fueled by Preservation. Scadrial We don't have any Splinters there, but there are condensed nuggets of pure Investiture: lerasium and atium. Both are metals which can be used in any of the Three Metallic Arts. Allomancers have a bit more of Innate Preservation in them so they are able to burn metals; godmetals are metals 'outside' of the system and are special. Roshar We don't know about Innate Investiture. Surgebinding is fueled by outside Investiture in the form of Stormlight. What's interesting is that to become a Surgebinder/Voidbringer you have to bond a Splinter; in all of the examples above, Splinters are either something not related to the magic, or something superpowered and outside of the normal system (Divine Breaths/godmetals), but on Roshar they're required to use the magic. That's strange.

I posted a question and somebody upvoted it; the thing is, the notification says "somebody gave you reputation for an answer to a question: [title]".

Okay, I'm not sure about whether it was a theory only or was it confirmed somewhere. Does Nahel bond pull the Surgebinder and spren closer together, what results in spren being pulled more into Physical (somewhat confirmed because as the bond progresses spren can manifest as Shardblade) and Surgebinder being pulled more into Cognitive Realm? I mean, Kaladin was able to see spren nobody else could (like bindspren) and the other instance we have is Rock who is a Horneater who are a result of human/Parshendi interbreeding so they are closer to Cognitive (I just realised that that is also not confirmed).

I can't help by wonder how this taboo came to be. Since first humans who were hunters/gatherers the activities which produce food require getting dirty in one way or another. So how do farmers work? How people do anything without getting dirty? I mean, getting dirty happens way too often to be taboo. Or maybe it's only about markings which seem purposeful, like tatoos/signs/writing and so on?

We don't actually know that. Maybe it is possible, but it's improbable enough it's considered impossible.

I just realized (cause I'm learning for exams and stuff) that I can list Surges in order without even learning it way easier than to remember stuff I'm learning right now If suddenly waken up and asked, I'd probably also could recite the metal categorization without even recalling what does that metal do.

1. The armor survived explosions and gunfire, but some Steelpushed projectiles would destroy it? 2. I'm still not sure how was that possible, but Tony crashed thorugh several trees at full speed and had basically no wounds and a few blows from pewter burner would cause severe internal bleeding? I doubt it. 3. Tell me, how Vin is supposed to survive those repulsor blasts in close range combat? Anyway, was how Vin is supposed to survive gunfire brought up? Wax can only Push on the bullets when he expects them and those are very low speeds bullet compared to modern real-life guns, not to mention some Iron Man made-up tech.

But to make the aluminiummind unkeyed, Kelsier would have to simultaneously store... Identity somewhere else... So it was untappable anyway and we don't even know whether it would be recognizable. On one hand, we know that one Full Feruchemists can feel the others metalminds but not access them at that while burning the Mistborn can feel it the same way. On another hand, to check whether the goldmind is metalmind, Wax gives it to Wayne, so maybe without having power tied to the specific metal (the power being either Allomantic or Feruchemical) you can't feel it's charge?

What now? Magneto can manipulate all spectrum of electromagnetism? That's, like, seriously overpowered. Anyway, even if we go by standard, magnetism-based Magneto, he wins very easily. Just rip the metals out of the stomach or use the coins Kelsier would surely carry. (BoM spoiler) BTW, someone here mentioned emotional Allomancy. Not gonna work. Magneto's helmet is specifically designed to prevent any form of telepathy working on him. It would probably interfere with Soothing and Rioting as well.

Background: I live in a small village just a stone's throw from the city (it's one of the biggest cities in the country) - I've got less than 500 metres to the sign saying "THE CITY". Problem is, the city's public transport doesn't reach there (idk why, a bunch of villages which are far further are covered by city's transport) so I have to relay on small private buses. Lately I found a website which calculates all the possible routes (there are plenty of them, but this one covers even those private buses or even trains). It was really helpful, but recently it started to break down. Once when I tried to look for a route it told me to go back to the city centre by train just to get inside a bus which has a busstop at the location I was searching for Another route included waiting 5 hours (?!) and a different one told me to take a bus passing through my village, then switch to another bus to come back to my place. Clearly, the algorithm has gone insane and it's infuriating because it's not that complex! How did they storm it up so badly?! Who the storms was writing it?!

Yeah, but by WoB after certain point dilution stops. There is a stable level of Allomancy in population. -

At first when Soulsmiths were only a vague idea, I often thought how to combine different plots in the story. You see, I've never seen two different themes together. For example, imagine a standard story of alien invasion. It will be about humans developing technology to fight them, or being enslaved by them or trying to destroy their mothership, those kinds of things. But imagine that the alien invasion causes mages to end masquerade and fight them. Two themes : aliens and mages. If the setting is lovecraftian it will be about people going insane, Eldritch gods devouring reality and so on. But it will never be political fiction. If the setting is medieval fantasy with tyrannical God-Emperor, it will be about revolution; not about a heist scheme (although Mistborn comes close) or brilliant inventor trying to get funding for his research. I know that the setting is there to be used, but I feel a little tired of setting being there just so the story can revolve around it. Not every story happening in the world has to be the most important to that world. What I try to say is that the setting is inert as long as protagonists don't get involved in it. Imagine a story about vampires. Protagonist is given the task of hunting down one of their own kind who commited something they consider a crime (maybe stealing some artifact). Normally nothing worthy of mention goes on in the world. But how about setting the story during Cold War with its spies and communist paranoia? Or during suffrage movement? It doesn't have to be a crucial part of the story.

Anyway, I think the name "Harmony" is misleading. A combination of Cultivation (if she ended up on Scadrial instead of Ruin) and Preservation would be very similar to the one we've got and Sazed would name it "Harmony" anyway. "Harmony" refers only to the fact that the two Shards were opposite to each other, not what their Intents were. We could call mix of Odium and Devotion by the name of "Harmony" too, but it's not terribly helpful. Intent of Sazed's shard is Harmony between Preservation and Ruin, not Harmony itself.

A war between Scadrial (era 2) and Roshar

I am not sure myself, lol I wish we had more info about Spiritual inheritance and genes and that stuff. I'm very interested in Spiritual inheritance. Also, it's confusing that Brandon refers to Vin as being at 100% while Lerasiumborn clearly has more raw power. We don't really know what that 100% mean (although I have my suspicions I will talk about later in that post). So what I was refering by % there is more about statistics. So if we gathered 10 000 people with 30%, there would be no Allomancers there (or almost none). If we gathered 10 000 people with 80% and above, that would be the category with most Mistborns, a lot of Mistings and the lowers percentage of non-Allomancers. If we gathered 10 000 people around 60%, there would be few Mistborns (if any), many Mistings and many non-Allomancers. It's about average. There could be a non-Allomancer with 70% and a Mistborn on 50%, but these are unlikely, right? So you could be a non-Allomancer with strong Allomantic blood and your children would have a greater chance of being Allomancers than kids of an Allomancer but with weaker blood. Posterity of Vin and Elend (if they had any) would have more Allomancers among them than offspring of some nobles which in turn would have more Allomancers than posterity of noble-blooded skaa which would have more than offspring of mistfallen. Now, what about those percentages? Let's gather facts: Since Lerasiumborns, Allomancy weakened. There are more noble Allomancers than skaa Allomancers. Brandon stated that there is dilution of blood, but after a certain point it stops. I believe that any blood above 100% is unnatural and cannot be kept - nature pushes for balance. So the spectrum of 0%-100% is what blood is somewhat stable. The strongest natural-born Allomancer cannot be above 100%. Of course, offspring of two Lerasiumborns would be above 100%, but the heritage degenerates quickly until it hits the 0%-100% range. In 0%-100% it doesn't degenerate as the human soul can keep that amount of power. So that's why a Misting like Straff can have a Mistborn son. After enough tries Zane was born. If Straff had stronger blood, the chance would be greater. -

Two of my friends were in the staff of a sailing camp (I had gone to it for several years before, so organizators knew me, most of the staff new me, 'young staff' knew me [those were people under 18 who were helping out. Some sort of cross between camper and staff]) and my another friend suggested we hitchhike there for a few days to visit them. Everything was going well until we took a walk around the place the camp was in. As we were turning around the corner, I turned my head to the side when I was telling my friend something... BANG! I hit something with my head, then ducked under it and took a few more steps. "Oversleep, you're bleeding." "Rust and Ruin! Why can't I just not destroy something for once?!" (a running joke is me bumping into things, dropping things thrown to me and so on.) The thing I walked into was a street sign... but the edge was bent so it stuck out horrizontally. I basically walked into the edge of a dull blade. Later on, after I was patched up (I surely did scare some youngsters who walked into the bathroom as I was shirtless and covered in blood) I called my mother. Since I knew she gets very tense when she gets phonecalls which start with "Please stay calm", I decided to omit that. "Hello, mom. How do I clean blood off my shirt?"
