crazy theory Different Dalinar's Wife Theory [Stormlight 3 Spoilers]
Oversleep replied to Lightspine's topic in Cosmere Discussion
It is (a few thousand years IIRC). And what of it? Worldhoppers usually have knowledge to deal with such insignificant obstacles like aging. -
You're welcome.

Apart from the usual reasons to follow someone... Perhaps it's easier to follow since there is not much to keep track of?

I think it would be unfair, as the tests purpose is not to test you in the real-life situation. It's about testing everyone in the same conditions, theoretically. I mean, engineers use software to calculate things and they don't solve integrals by hand and yet they do solve them on tests. Just because they will have computer do it do not mean they can use it on the exam, right? I know the analogy isn't perfect. There already are in Second Scadrial Era.

Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!

Wait, what does this constitution say? What is exactly the situation with guns? Non-American Sharders are not quite familiar with the American things. -
Is your question about power loss? With Hemalurgy, there is always power loss. In the process of making the spike there is (relatively) huge power loss and after that there is half-decay. Half-decay can be prevented by covering the spike in blood, but it won't help against the initial power loss.

Unless Gavilar pulled the same trick Jasnah did, with slipping to Shadesmar and leaving Soulcasted fake body behind, I don't see any way for him to survive. His body was on display since the fall from the balcony, Szeth talked to him, then Gavilar stopped moving and a while later his Shardblade dropped. And Jasnah was observing all that. Then he was buried or whatever is the ritual in Alethkar.

Sanderson meeting in Poland

You should probably check the links in that topic: As far as writers and their tours go, I think we would have the best shot at inviting him to one of the Cons. Probably Pyrkon. -
crazy theory Different Dalinar's Wife Theory [Stormlight 3 Spoilers]
Oversleep replied to Lightspine's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Two factors: One, I posted a crazy theory which originated few months ago in a unrelated topic and only recently managed to post it. This probably was a catalyst which made people think about the issue. Two, there was a reading of an excerpt with Dalinar's flashback and from what I've heard around the Shard Dalinar's wife is in it. -
I had some idea - you know, worldbuilding idea or idea for a power or something. I wrote it down to remember it... And all I have now is a post-it with a picture I drew on it: a bird sitting on the power lines captioned "AVOID THE LINES". I have no idea what is that supposed to mean That is surely sight from my window, but what did I try to remember?

Not to mention that your idea isn't really better than the ordinary rifle; I mean, you have to actually aim it at the Seer, so it can't be too random because otherwise it will be just a rifle with insanely bad accuracy making it hard to actually shoot someone. If the randomness area is narrowed, then the obfuscating is really narrowed to the small area, so not as much confusing as it should be. Also, the atium only shows you about 1 second earlier future, so the shadow would jump around for a very short time (as most of the time of the shadow is after the bullet's been fired and it's trajectory established).

I'm happy to see my thread coming back to life! Anyway, employing Leechers at the entrance would be terribly cost-ineffective (so. much. chromium.) and students can just not burn anything before passing the entrance. You can't search studends for vials with metal and copperminds could be easily obfuscated as jewelry. Also, even if you could search the students, why can't a Coinshot or Lurcher use their abilities to move around the city? If I were a Coinshot, I'd surely choose Steelpushing over morning traffic jams. Confisquating all those vials would be just stupid. Easily countered by students claiming that metalminds are their cultural heritage and banning them would be discrimination against cultural minority Ferrings don't need Copperclouds... And I think that Pulsers would be a real Riot among students. There is even a story in newspaper about someone speeding up time to survive boring board meetings Anyway, you all have criminal minds! You only think about bad things! XD There are some fair and legal uses: Copperminds can be used to store the memory of the class that just ended - that way you can tap it back home while reading your notes; it's super effective. If you ever had trouble with teacher going too fast, I'm sure you'd make use of a zincmind. Burning pewter to help offset the tiredness or lack of sleep. Or tapping bronze on those early classes... Sliders setting up bubbles to have more time to revise before the test starts. Also, if somebody wants to store during their school time, why forbid it? There is no harm in someone storing weight. The only problem would be tests. You have to ban both tins, Feruchemical steel and Feruchemical zinc, Allomantic zinc and Allomantic brass, both coppers, probably Feruchemical chromium...

Humans generally are Invested (cause they have Investiture in their souls) and Allomancers have more Preservation's Investiture than the rest of the population.
-
When Jasnah sees them talking, she thinks about them as "ambassadors from the west" and that Elhokar invited them along with all the other important dygnitaries from foreign countries who were currently in Alethkar. Jasnah also remarks that she already checked them and found nothing interesting. So probably their conversation with Elhokar is not of importance.

At best you'd have a single constantly changing atium shadow which would collapse into stable one at the moment when the bullet's trajectory is established. I wonder whether Invested objects have atium shadows. Would atium burner see Shardblade's shadow? I think that a teleporter could go toe-to-toe with Seer - constantly teleporting close to attack and teleporting away to dodge.

I don't understand the confusion. There is no reason that Liberal cannot be right-wing.

So far, every end-postive magic needs a way to get into user's soul - usually by cracks - Allomancy, Surgebinding, Dor flows through Elantrians, while end-negative doesn't seem to need that: both Feruchemists and Awakeners already have the power, there is no outside source of it, so no cracks needed. How does it work with Forgery? It surely is end-positive, as Dor is sustaining the transformation; but power does not flow through the user. What is happening here?

Atium shadows split only when there is feedback loop with information from the future. In other cases, it's replaced.

So, we know that we will have at least five accounts of that fateful night. I can't help but notice a pattern: WoK - Kaladin's book - Szeth Prologue WoR - Shallan's book - Jasnah Prologue Othbrngr - Dalinar's book - Eshonai Prologue Eshonai/Szeth book - ??? Prologue Szeth/Eshonai book - ??? Prologue So, there is a connection between Kaladin and Szeth - both were WIndrunners and designated enemies which culminated in Kaladin killing Szeth at the end of WoR. Shallan is apprentice of Jasnah, there is a connection. Both Eshonai and Dalinar are generals in their respective armies and Eshonai tried to seek out Dalinar to make peace while Dalinar was the only highprince who thought of trying to understand why Parshendi killed Gavilar. There are various characters who were present that night. BTW, I wonder whether we will get Gavilar's perspective on that night; it would be certainly carrying a lot of knowledge. Anyway, it's possible that in Eshonai's book we would get Dalinar's PoV - but he didn't do much and all three characters (Szeth, Jasnah, Eshonai) were doing something very unusual as for the feast night (Szeth - assasinating, Eshonai - orchestrating assasination, Jasnah - meeting with assassin). So maybe someone else. I think that in Szeth's book we might get Nalan's PoV - he surely was there and he certainly was doing something there and his connection to Szeth is indisputable. What do you think? Who could get the other two PoVs? (BTW, I wonder whether the back five will have Gavilar's assasination - I doubt it. Brandon may be exceptional writer, but doing ten different viewpoints of the same event, with each being interesting and unveiling some new events? I don't think it possible. Maybe the back five will have another important event for prologues.)

The atium burner would see the atium shadow of the object flying through them and would step out of the way (like Vin catching the arrow whe she fought Shan. I think the key to defeating atium burner is speed. I'm talking lots and lots of supersonic shrapnel bullets. They may have time to dodge the bullets, but what will they do when the bullets start exploding aruond them, creating a lot of fast moving sharp bits of metal?

You can't get powers you don't already have. That's not how nicrosil works. You can only strenghten them, but as far as we know obtaining new powers is not possible. Twinborn Nicroburst/Soulbearer can only become insanely powerful Nicroburst, and that's all.

In my theory, she uses the Nightwatcher powers - she grants boons normally, but the curse is always taking the Breath.
