  1. I wonder if the nose is a bind point for any spikes.
  2. You can make a metalmind of a Hemalurgic spike. Marsh is reported to store/tap metalminds in HoA.
  3. Anyone else have a problem not knowing the correct capitalization for God Metals? (Is it Atium or atium?)
  4. I am the Oncoming Storm I am 900 years old and you are basically just a rabbit aren't you? ... "Alright just a...general warning."
  5. Wibbly wobbly, goat-wimey stuff.
  6. Iiit's a small world after all..... Also, I am thinking about making a competition, the winner gets to put "The creepiest member of the 17th Shard" on their sig or title, if they choose. I'm thinking about having some events like taking a harmless object and telling a creepy story. There would be a poll for each event. The only things I need are more events and a list of people who want to do it.
  7. Whoever controls the weather is probably an artist.
  8. Pretty much. Also, they justify their use of Hemalurgy in the name of science.
  9. I thought that Shin had large eyes, making them resemble children. Or am I thinking of something else? Also, due to the fact that Horneaters and the Herdazians have Listener blood (not a whole lot, but enough to give Horneaters extra molars and aggressive digestive systems and Herdazians carapace fingernails) I don't think they are as relatable to Earth cultures. Although Herdazians are based on Mexicans.
  10. Hello. Welcome to the Shard, please don't kill your family. Or go insane from using magic tainted by the devil. Ahem. On this forum, there are members of an organization called the Dark Alley. They specialize in Hemalurgy, and offer 'cookies' to members of the 17th Shard (Sharders) which are disguised Hemalurgic spikes. Just an FYI.
  11. You have to talk to the Alley, but they might take orders.
  12. I invested a lot of time in a joke about nicrosil metalminds. A Hemalurgist walked into a bar. The Hemalurgist said,"Rust and Ruin, wrong way," and then walked into the bar spike-first. Now here's an awesome joke: One time, Wayne was completely serious for an entire day.
  13. You can determine your opponent's next move by a shift in the eyes (zinc and maybe tin). You could--using zinc and copper--analyze the fighting style of your opponent, allowing you to know your opponent's next move, maybe even before they do. Basically, you can get a rough equivalent of atium Allomancy.
  14. There have been ideas that Tonk Fah was a Hemalurgist. But I agree with Denth's explanation.
  15. There should be a Metalborn of some kind. SoS spoilers
  16. Nobody really knows where the Dark Alley keeps their spikes or how they are kept, and at this point, we're all just the teensiest bit afraid to ask. Does anyone else write certain phrases down and see memes in their heads? Completely random, I know.
  17. Welcome to the Shard! I would like to warn you about cookies and possibly other baked treats offered by some members of this forum. They are a disguise for Hemalurgic spikes. If you don't have a clue what those are, they are basically metal spikes they drive into your flesh. This has been a PSA announcement about the Dark Alley.
  18. I would also like to point out that Sanderson's characters tend to have personality flaws that have varying affects on their ability to act. This is by no means unheard of in literature, but it is the norm to give character flaws that have practical use in some situations, and Sanderson likes to go against themes and conventions that he has encountered previously. This may lead to having main characters that are, in some people's view, annoying in various ways. However, this opinion is likely not the norm, so please be respectful when referring to what may be our favorite characters in this manner. You might rub some people the wrong way.
  19. If the Alethi are prudes... Wow. Roshar is seriously going to Braize.
  20. Because Alethi ideas about blasphemy.
  21. And on the subject of Kaladin's depression, he's handling it quite well. Having something that needs to be done is helping.
  22. Count to ten... HE'S GOT A SHARDBLADE! HIT THE DECK! Jk Ahem. I noticed myself that Kaladin spent the Everstorm in a little Shardeblade-formed cave like the one he stayed in with Shallan, but evidence suggests that his spheres did not fill up. Stormlight is likely a highstorm-only thing. Which means it's only Honor, not Odium's power.
  23. Greetings. Just a warning, the cookies offered by some members of the Shard are in actuality Hemalurgic spikes. If you have not read Mistborn, they basically stab you with metal spikes, and you don't die. Very painful, and you get magic powers. Emphasis on painful.
  24. Turns out, with my ward against logic, it's three plus three for pickles.
  25. If I am correct, then you must first define evil before calling something evil. To save you all the philosophical debate none of you want to have, Sanderson says that no Shardic magic system is truly evil. So Hemalurgy, and the Alley in which it is practiced, is not evil. Of questionable morals yes, but not evil. I have something to say about this Please excuse Thoughtward. He's (it's?) been grumpy when I finally got through to him that his Awakened phrase "Challenge ideas" does not mean insulting the entire idea and leave no room for arguing, but to appropriately point out the holes in theories and musings. You don't let me have any fun Ahem. Anyway, not only does Thoughtward grant amazing fighting skills, but I don't even have to draw him. Letting him talk in my victims' heads usually makes them question their existence. Failing that, their reality.
