  1. Harmony tells Wax more about the organization attacking Scadrial that makes a lot more sense to people who are Cosmere-aware, and Wax takes that information and uses it as the basis for a battle plan. Amaram (no, you can't kill him. Think of him as Nighthound)
  2. I am 18 today. My arrival into adulthood was heralded by about 100 Facebook notifications and an AP test.
  3. Yes. Him. I'm not very good with names. Especially with fictional characters. I'm lucky I can keep Kaladin separate from Kelsier.
  4. They are Hemalurgic Spikes.
  5. I don't think I fully understand your question, but I will give it a go. I don't think that Nightblood can change his perception of himself, as he is basically an artificial spren. He basically takes what other people think is evil and helps them to destroy it. You compare Returned and Nightblood to each other, but one is formed by a Shard, and had sentience before death. Nightblood has no previous frame of reference. There is a chance that he might be able to change from one weapon to another, but it's doubtful. In any case, welcome to the Shard!
  6. Welcome! I'm one of the people who puts together pieces, but not with the plots of the books. I try to unravel the Cosmere. And don't be afraid to give input on theories! You say you aren't clever, but some people, who aren't clever themselves, have the ability to stimulate it in others. Besides, you might surprise yourself. Also, in the signings subforum, there are a lot of WoB's. To finish, there is an organization called the Dark Alley. They have a strange fascination with Hemalurgy. They disguise spikes as cookies and offer them to new Sharders. Be warned.
  7. Vin's death. It just shows how much she's grown. She used to be a scared little girl, who got a bad feeling and tried to help a boy who turned and betrayed her, confirming her view of the world that nobody will help her, they all leave, in the end. Then there's the one who left, and then came back. The only one to do so, who won her loyalty for life. So much so, that she treasured what he gave her and killed herself rather than be without it. She had a higher purpose of course, but Vin's death was mainly motivated by Elend dying.
  8. His best villain might be that advisor guy in Warbreaker. He's just so good at twisting the truth about his motives until it's almost too late. You can't tell who's the good guy and who's the bad guy.
  9. 1. It's the Doctor, not Doctor Who. Doctor Who is the question. 2. I'm fairly certain that Hoid is the Cosmere AU version of the Doctor.
  10. You know the feels? Those mushy, sad feelings when a character you love gets torn apart in the worst way possible. I got them. From my own writing. Is this normal?
  11. That's one touchy subject somewhat avoided. I didn't think of that, but you absolutely have a point Now, I think it's Spiritweb might be being formed during the entire 9 months of gestation, and Breath more or less starts the process. If/when we go to Sanderson with these theories, we need to ask him about the complexity of an infant's Spiritweb.
  12. The genie has no idea how to grant your wish and not create a paradox except to create an alternate universe where wishing was never invented, and send you there. See you! Or, I guess, not. I wish to have the supernatural powers that I have assigned to the imaginary being of Stormgate, without any of the side effects standard of Epics, as well as the skill to use the powers effectively. I just get the powers of weather and electricity manipulation, as well as wound deflection to the person causing it (You hit me, you are injured) with no other effects to me except skill, and nothing happening to anyone else as a result of the wish, although I may use my powers on people after the wish has been granted.
  13. I do not think that it is unreasonable to think that Breaths could lend some savantish abilities, however it may simply be that the quantity of Investiture assists in teaching someone how to Awaken, leading to seemingly intuitive abilities with using Breath.
  14. I recently found a WoB that said that, in effect, that Sanderson didn't want to figure out when Nalthians got their Breath, whether at birth or sometime before, as well as how the Breath got there. He said that he would let the fanbase see what they could think of. This is the fanbase. Let's get started. The first part of the question is getting into a touchy subject, with the controversy over abortion. Thus, I am going to the book. The God King was born dead, and then Returned. The cases where someone without a Breath has Returned are very few, if any, and would have weird side effects, apparently. Thus, it seems logical that, at some point in the gestation period, the baby recieves a Breath. The second part is much harder. How does the child get the Breath? Does the mother grow another Breath and give it to the baby? Is something else going on? I have no good ideas.
  15. I agree with the theory that the Homeland was another planet.
  16. There's a quote by Patrick Rothfuss that may be applicable: “There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.” I would say Renarin counts as a gentle man. The ramifications are obvious.
  17. Life before death Living is more important than death. Death should be avoided if at all possible, and should be the main focus for yourself and those under your protection. Strength before weakness In the front of a conflict should be the strong. Those who put the weak in the front are cowards. Journey before destination While the end goal is important to keep in sight, it means nothing if you do bad things to accomplish it. That's my analysis of it. But anyway, here's an awesome (if paraphrased) quote. "I can't do this. I'm a broken man." "They all were, silly"
  18. I'm not convinced that there is a Hoid appearance in the version we have. Am I the only one that's excited about getting a canon picture of Hoid?
  19. Honor has ten sub-Intents, demonstrated by the different orders of Knight Radiant. Perhaps Autonomy similarly has sub-Intents.
  20. Tweet tweet.
  21. Not that I can think of. It's more the opportunity to do so.
  22. It would be terrible if they had to swallow 16 metals with the ability to use only one or none of them. Especially since pewter, bendalloy, and cadmium are all toxic that I know of, with detrimental effects likely from some of the other metals.
  23. Say a kandra were to have some Ferring ability, and they filled a metalmind using that power. Would a Ferring of the same metal be able to access the metalmind? I.e. Do kandra have Spiritual Identity?
