Are Shardblades and Shardplate made of Honor's godmetal
Stormgate replied to Omniforce's topic in Stormlight Archive
Whether or not it acts like metal is no indication of whether or not it is solid Investiture, which I believe is being discussed. We use godmetal because the only prior instance of solid Investiture is in atium and Lerasium. -
So, I was thinking, and with the Surges of Gravitation and Cohesion, one could potentially make a hammer that acts like Thor's does, only being able to be lifted by someone who's "worthy". I'm thinking maybe using bindspren or something to get the immovability, maybe with a gravityspren for added stubbornness, and something to deactivate the fabrial. I'm not sure how to do Cap's Shield yet. Maybe half-shards, or something?

Thanks! I've been looking for a paperweight. Trades in motivator for Epic powers involving chicken noises.

To be honest...I don't often look at the Coppermind. Try putting together the facts by yourself and then check them, but don't infodump yourself. Piece by piece is how I do it.

Well, I read a story, and then just go over the details in my head over and over. I actually rarely reread things, but I'm looking for little details when I do. I'm not sure how I remember so many details, I seem to have a somewhat supernatural ability in that regard. If it's important to you in some way, it'd probably be easier to remember. Rome wasn't built in a day. Start with the basics, like the characters and the worlds, then find patterns, and wonder what would happen if this was applied in a larger scale, or what's the cause of the pattern in the first place. Basically, take apart the pieces of the puzzles that are Sanderson's books, and see if some of the pieces fit together in a new way. Practice, young Sharder. Patience.

I looked at him, with his wild, white hair. "How old are you?" I ask him. "Thirty," Hoid replies, "If I'm talking physically." "How long have you been thirty?" I ask him. "Oh, a while." "I know what you are," "Say it," "Worldhopper" This just came to me. I have no plans for this. Enjoy!

The Apostle John, who wrote Revelation, was part of a religion that gave no heed to borders or governments. In fact, all of his companions were systematically killed for their beliefs. Though he was in exile at the time, neither he nor the founder of his religion, Jesus, offered any sort of political commentary unless cornered by their opponents. If you look in Revelation, you will read a description of helicopters, by someone who had no idea what it was, "And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months" A helicopter. Don't say it wasn't prophecy.

We know that capturing spren inside gemstones is not only possible, but necessary for fabrials to function. So, how does it work? Does one simply take the gemstone and touch the spren, capturing it? Also, the thought occurred to me that the humans and Listeners could easily have trade relations revolving around the sale of spren. In WoR, we see the Listeners trying—and failing— to conjure even a single creationspren for artform, while Shallan regularly can summon hundreds while drawing. This discovery could have ended the war, and brought in a new era of peace, if the Everstorm hadn't gotten in the way.

We have contact with the outside world. I can e-mail my family and friends. Besides, I knew about all this when I signed up for it. I read and agreed to the terms and conditions. All of them. I'm not being cut off from the outside world as much as separated from it. I'm basically agreeing to spend two years in service, and the restrictions just help me to accomplish that. Besides, the worst punishment for breaking the rules is being sent home, which is only a last-resort action that nobody likes to implement.

Once, I saw a chicken cross the road. That is the whole story. It was walking along, strutting about like they do, and then bolted to the other side. Best I can figure, he was trying to get to the field on the other side. One time, my brother was taking off his sock with his middle finger, when he heard a pop and it started hurting. My mom didn't take him into the doctor for a while, because he took off a sock, for crying out loud. So he goes in, and gets an x-Ray. One of the tendons in his finger pulled a piece of bone off the main part. He had to get a surgery that day, because the next day we were going on a pioneer trek reenactment, and the doctor wasn't okay with him going on that with a broken finger. So he shows up to pioneer trek utterly useless for pulling the handcarts we were using, and played the part of the disabled family member. And that's how my brother broke his finger taking off a sock. May he never live it down.

On page 2 of this topic, a Sharder (didn't look at the name) tried linking the Orders of Knight Radiant to MBTI profiles. The Skybreakers were linked to INFJ, my own type. INFJs are more idealistic, more inclined toward believing the best of people, than Skybreakers are. The NF lets us see past the surface and see the "diamond in the rough," the carefree girl who means no serious harm inside of the thief who breaks into rich people's houses and steal their food. I don't mean to pick a fight, but INFJs are more teacher than police officer. Anyway, I believe that the title of the topic is Cosmere MBTI, not SA MBTI. So, here's some other books, done by an arbitrary test conducted by me. I mean no offense to anyone who is of the same type as one of the following villains. If it makes you feel better, I'm pretty sure Stalin was an INFJ. Kelsier—ESFP Vin—ISFP Sazed—INFJ Ham—ENFP Straff Venture—ESTJ Susebrone—ESFJ Lightsong—ENFP Siri—ISFP Blushweaver—ESFJ Raoden—ENFJ Sarene—INFJ Khriss—INTJ Demoux—ENFJ Hrathen—INTJ

Is there plans for chalklings? And maybe versus battles?

Starting officially on August 10, I will be on a two year hiatus from the Shard. I am an interesting person, I admit, with my one year anniversary on the Shard coming in September/October/whatever, but my post count and ranking are that of a seasoned veteran. In any case, I will be going to Long Beach area of Southern California for two years, and if any Sharders happen to be in the area, I'll try to drop in, if you want.

I JUST THOUGHT OF SOMETHING! 1. Sanderson has RAFO'ed whether or not the Nahel Bond grants longevity. In this case a RAFO might mean yes. 2. One of the Orders of Knights Radiant did not give up their oaths, but instead went into hiding. As far as I know, we don't know which order it was. What if Lirin is one of the old Knights Radiant?

That WoB looks like Sanderson wiggling out of a question.

"And now the map is on fire!" "I was just showing you the volcanic hotspots..." The poor guy who discovered Aon Tia probably had a long walk back home.

Seons seem devoted to their masters, being the perfect servants without being poor conversation partners. In short, they love their job. On the other hand, Skaze seem to be self-serving. I don't know much about the Skaze, so I can't give as strong of evidence.

Are Shardblades and Shardplate made of Honor's godmetal
Stormgate replied to Omniforce's topic in Stormlight Archive
So...the obvious question is: what would happen if a Mistborn somehow swallowed a Shardblade, and burned it? My gut instinct says that it would lead to some interesting relationships with the spren, similar perhaps to the wierdness associated with burning a Hemalurgic spike. Or it may free the spren, allowing it to return to the Cognitive Realm and come back to life. I realize that swallowing a Shardblade is something that is only survivable by a select few in the Cosmere, like maybe TLR, Hoid, and some others. -
Perhaps that metaphor permeated the Rosharian consciousness enough for the souls of men to literally appear as flames. I'm not sure it's likely, but Nohadon was, in likelihood, a Knight of some such, or perhaps a Lightweaver, Elsecaller, or Willshaper took him to the Cognitive Realm to visit. In any case, I think you're on to something. I don't know what, but you're on to something.

I think Sanderson may have put Hoid in in his first draft, but the second draft—the one we recieved—is accidentally Hoidless.

I'm less upset about that than other people would be. Remember, I can read. And then there's TV shows.
