  1. About Glys being nightform spren: Honorspren are, in appearance, more intelligent windspren. Cryptics seem to be similar with creationspren, constantly shifting and changing, but Cryptics are more intelligent. It is not unlikely that every order has these dumbspren that are drawn to the Radiant. Having recently read some stanzas about the spren and Listeners, smarter spren favor humans. Artform can come by bonding creationspren. What I'm getting at is that the dumbspren of the Truthwatchers may be the spren that provide nightform.
  2. When dealing with the Cognitive Realm and the beings and objects related to it, mind over matter is more of a fact of life than a motivational quote.
  3. Why don't we just ask if he Allomantically burn any metals and be done with it?
  4. Since neither Amaram nor Sadeas ever actually killed a Shardbearer, I'll go with that one. Would you rather be a High Epic but imprisoned in your body so you sob internally for every life you take, or be Szeth pre-WoR?
  5. Note: I came up with the bulk of this before I discovered Sanderson. Then I realized I was creating the Cosmere, Mistborn, and a bit of SA mixed together. I have stopped caring about that point. Long ago, when men were just beginning to discover fire, two forces discovered the Earth, long rivals, and there decided to fight their conflict. The forces took the form of gemstones, the Diamond of Creation, and the Ruby of Chaos. The gems each gave men powers, which were used to fight the chosen warriors of the other. The fight went on for millennia. Until one day, the Diamond looked out, and saw the destruction caused by the war, and, under the grief of the chaos, broke. It broke into four pieces, which became their own gemstones: The Emerald of Power, the Sapphire of Wisdom, the Topaz of Strength, and the Amethyst of Swiftness. These pieces, not fully sentient on their own, sought out individuals who could help fight the Ruby. This fight now went on, but changed. The four gemstones each built up societies around their own Intent (not married to the term), and the fight now favored the Gemkeepers, as they were called. Human ingenuity and greater numbers proved the downfall of the Ruby. Unable to destroy the pure power of destruction, the Gemkeepers constructed a near-impenetrable prison. Then, not naive enough to think it would hold forever, provided ways to create armies of the civilizations they were the patron of, giving them powers beyond that known by men, to prepare for the last conflict. The Topaz, seeking to create warriors, gave them power over metal, to make it liquid in form and control it like their own flesh. The Amethyst, seeking to create beings of grace and stealth gave men hmm...some kind of super speed? The Emerald, seeking to create masters of politics and war alike, gave men With this...I got nothing. The Sapphire, seeking to create strategists, scholars, and all manner of men of wisdom, gave men Uhh...some kind of storm control?? I need help with the magic systems for Emerald, Sapphire, and Amethyst. As of now, I have nothing worth writing about.

  7. Is Jaddeth real? It would not be beyond the scope of possibility that he is, and that perhaps enough devotion could cause him to wake. Sanderson likes making religions important. Just look what he did in Mistborn.
  8. I'm pretty sure Sazed would have something to say about that. Besides, to quote a The Incredibles, "If everyone's super, no one will be." It would become a planet with interesting interactions, but terrifying to other planets. Come in spaceships? They can launch you into the sun with a group Steelpush. Go in through a perpendicularity? Get brass duralumined and you are essentially stunned while you get ripped to shreds by any number of metal objects. Got a Shardblade? They will do a group push and yank it from your hands.

    New market

I had a thought about the medallions: If the technology to make them becomes even somewhat commercialized, then it opens up a whole new market. You could sell your abilities, for example. You know how the Aluminum and Duralumin burners are pretty much useless? Sell their power to Mistings, and they don't have to worry about getting poisoning from pewter, bendalloy, cadmium, etc. Any other uses you can think of for Feruchemy and Allomancy? Storing attributes in prison metal so that Allomancy won't have as much of an effect, for example.
  10. I have noticed that there are some element similarities between the Cosmere and non-Cosmere books. I'm not saying that they are actually connected, but there are similarities. In Reckoners and Alcatraz, there are supernatural abilities, and methods to make those abilities accessible to more people, similar to Fabrials. (The motivators and the Oculator glasses) In Rithmatist, there is a supernatural bond with a foreign creature that grants power, used to stop similar, more dangerous opponents. Basically, using details that Sanderson has about magic systems in non-Cosmere books, we may be able to extrapolate other things about the Cosmere.
  11. We don't know much, but they are from the Reshi Isles, one is given to a potential proto-Radiant (I'm guessing here), and when Nale attempts to kill Lift, he uses a larkin to drain Lift of Stormlight. We might know a bit more, but I don't off the top of my head.
  12. Reading the quoted law, it says, in effect, that if you believe that someone is going to use lethal force on another person, you may attack them. So even though Shallan was likely not in danger, she might still be justified.
  13. I still think aluminum was the weapon used to Shatter Adonalsium.
  14. The gods of the Parshendi took control of them when they entered voidforms. In an act of desperation, they all resorted to dullform rather than be subject to their gods. These gods, in fact, are likely the actual Voidbringers, using the Parshendi like mind control.
  15. When you plan on making your own cosplay for your own Epic, and get excited figuring out how the eyes will light up.
  16. Of course the DA has to get in on this. I will take a spiked sandwich, as many sandwiches are held together with toothpicks, so I will remove the spike and eat the sandwich, using the spike as a way to stab someone in the heart without them dying. Would you rather have infinite internet speed, or every book that Sanderson has ever written, is writing, and will write.

  18. When we get an in-depth discussion on the culinary arts of Roshar.
  19. So...we have trailers. Does anyone want to write movie adaptations of the books, maybe get this thing actually happening? I'm being serious. Get it approved by WoB and everything. There are talented people on this site.
  20. I think the Bondsmiths may have all bonded the same spren. Maybe.
  21. Bondsmith. Let's see... I wouldn't want the front lines, like the big picture, I prefer to get people to agree with each other and work together than other things, I just wish they had flashier Surges. Oh well, they can stick string to a wall and have someone be unable to get past, I suppose.
