Before I get into the main topic, I want to clarify that this is not about the civilization Raoden created inside the fallen Elantris. I apologize for the title, but it seems appropriate. So, I was reading the Elantris annotations, and I was reading the part where Aons were not very powerful in Teod. Sanderson explains that the Aons are about as strong as they were before Raoden fixed Elantris. Perhaps AonDor is not the stationary magic we thought it was, unable to be used on other Shardworlds like Allomancy is. Perhaps Elantrians could construct other cities based on Aon Ado (I think it's the one) and get the powers proximity to Elantris grants, but in other countries. Perhaps these cities could also be built on, say, Skadrial. Whole cities of Worldhopping, powerful Elantrians? Oh, yes I did. Besides, we really don't know everything about any of the magic systems except maybe Allomancy. Who knows?

Well, Roshar does have the most reliable and frequent replenishment of Investiture in the known Cosmere. In Elantris, Galladon describes the Dor (read: place where Investiture is) as being what tells a bird how to fly, etc. I don't think it's far fetched that a use like growing plants is beyond Stormlight, especially given it's probably more concentrated than we're used to. On the subject of greatshells feeding on Stormlight, perhaps they change forms like Parshendi, and have to bond a spren on a plateau to do that. Pure, idle speculation, but I figured... Oh, and how else would creatures with such heavy exoskeletons move around anywhere?

So, I have this thought every time I see this quote: (Emphasis added)It was definitely a slip on Sanderson's part, but was it simply a slip of the tongue or was he accidentally hinting about something important? I propose that the spren the Radiants bond with are simply common spren with more Investiture in them. Windrunners can stick two things together, which apparently has something to do with air pressure, and they can literally ride the winds, so they bond Invested windspren. Lightweavers create illusions and can change objects from one to another, creating something else. Thus, Lightweavers bond Invested creationspren. I don't know enough about Bondsmiths, Elsecallers, or Truthseers to determine their common spren. Thoughts?

Dalinar's Flashback Chapter from Oathbringer
Stormgate replied to Argent's topic in Stormlight Archive
I, for one, do not like the Blackthorn. I prefer the Bondsmith we know and respect. -
In WoK, Taravangian had Jasnah Soulcast the stone in the doorway. Later, he had Shallan draw a portrait of him. He was likely familiar with how Soulcasters are used, and was also likely familiar with the Lightweavers' talents at memorization. I propose that he was looking for Radiants, looking for the skills and abilities that Radiants intuitively possess. Who knows exactly what he wrote underneath his bed frame?

So, does that mean that the Doctor could be the Shard for Autonomy? He does spend a lot of time alone.

Physical effects of becoming a Shardholder
Stormgate replied to Unite Them's topic in Cosmere Discussion
We know that Leras was able to appear as the mist spirit, and that Ruin was able to appear to Vin when she had her earring in. I have a bit of a personal theory that Shardholders can be attacked in the physical realm, and that they don't appear in that realm to prevent their attack. I am inclined to believe that Shardholders have a harder time holding that form, and are able/inclined to do it more through vision than anything else. -
Mental Addiction and Dependency, Emotional Allomancy, and You
Stormgate replied to Gamma Fiend's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I think that emotional Allomancy is going to be extremely impaired when the Scadrians figure out how to refine Aluminum in large quantities. Not to mention Coinshots and Lurchers would have some trouble, since your soda is not a good weapon. Either way, a Rioting serial killer might have some trouble when a Bronze Misting gets on his tail. -

You doubt the power of the Mistborn Llama even in your call for its obliteration. If you think anything, know anything or even speculate something about the Mistborn Llama, it is only because the Mistborn Llama wants you to. I propose that the Mistborn Llama is, in fact, known as the author Brandon Sanderson, shown as Sanderson's almost blatant use of the Llama as his profile picture. Indeed, this is a very powerful llama, as it can shapeshift more potently than TenSoon. Any thoughts of asking Sanderson must be quelled. I call for an army of Sharders to advance on Sanderson's house, and force the llama to reveal itself, then return to Braize where it belongs. As far as time, how about this coming March 32nd?

In The Final Empire, Vin has a possible moment of precognition. She knows she could Sooth the High Prelan, but this happens: As those who read the book know, this feeling was confirmed by the fact that one Steel Inquisitor eventually went after her. For those of you who ignored the spoiler warning, shame on you. Go read the book, then come back. Anyway, my question is, was Vin's feeling simply street-born instincts, the result of Allomancy either on Vin's side or the Inquisitors, or perhaps the influence of Preservation? There may be other options, but I can't think of any. While I may be jumping to conclusions, but I feel that chasing red herrings is better than letting the big one get away. Edit: Typos

Aluminum (possible spoilers of various magic systems)
Stormgate posted a topic in Cosmere Discussion
In a WoB that I read but can't be bothered to find, Sanderson said that aluminum does strange things in every magic system. I may be jumping at phantoms (or however that saying goes), but I decided to make a list of everything aluminum does, and I noticed a surprising pattern: Allomancy: Wipes out all metals in the Allomancer's stomach. It is also immune to being Pushed or Pulled, Emotional Allomancy can't penetrate it, doesn't produce an atium shadow, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if it served as a shield like a Coppercloud, and prevented Pushing and Pulling on metal beyond it as well. Feruchemistry: Stores identity, which has been heavily hinted and theorized to allow access to another Feruchemist's metalminds, possibly even if the Aluminum Ferring can't store that attribute. Hemalurgy: Takes Allomantic enhancement power. Surgebinding: We don't know much about it yet, but we know that Aluminum is apparently only able to be made by Soulcasting. AonDor: I honestly don't know. I'm not very familiar with AonDor in general, and I don't know of any mention of aluminum or the like in AonDor. Forging: Although it isn't mentioned by name, it is extremely likely that the Unforgable Metal that makes up Shai's wall is aluminum. I'm also not ignorant of the possibility that aluminum does the same thing in AonDor as in Forging. That is, nothing. Dakhor, ChayShan: We don't know enough about these magic systems to make any sort of speculation, unless I'm mistaken. Awakening: This one is tricky, since generally metal cannot be Awakened. However, there is one notable exception: Nightblood. Nightblood is heavy, but that is potentially solved by the fact that it is (pun) heavily Invested. Nightblood drains large amounts of Investiture, releasing it as corrupted black smoke. He also is devoted to destroying evil, but he was Awakened with that command. With all the magic systems we know of, (unless I forgot any), aluminum tends to act as a black hole for Investiture, draining it if not simply leaving the magic ineffective. Such consistency in a pattern indicates some sort of larger picture. Perhaps aluminum somehow was responsible for the shattering of Adonalsium, or aluminum is the God Metal for Adonalsium, trying to get its former power back, or aluminum is somehow related to Odium and his ability to Shatter Shards. If anyone has any information on this topic that I missed, or a magic system I forgot, or any other possible theories about why aluminum drains Investiture, I'm open to suggestions. I realize that this is a topic that we know very little about, and so the speculation is likely quite off, but I like speculation on big topics like this. -
If it was obvious, nobody else had spotted the obvious, so I was clever for spotting the obvious when no one else did. If it was clever, it was just clever. Either way, thank you for the compliment.

Indeed, it is cringeworthy.

It isn't a meme, but this was a lightbulb moment too great not to share Marasi: "To be of use in even a single burst of flame and sound is worth more than a lifetime of achieving nothing." Stick: "I am a stick." Marasi: ... Stick: ... Stick: "I am a stick" Edit: fixing the font.

Am I the only one who noticed the Warbreaker puns?

What if somebody stores X number of Breaths in, say, a teddy bear. That person then dies, leaving the teddy bear full of Breaths. What happens to the Breaths? Can nobody access them, can anyone access them, does the bear gain some level of sentience, do the Breaths simply dissolve, or another scenario I haven't listed. While thinking about this, I noticed the similarities between objects holding Breaths and metalminds. Perhaps there is a connection?
-
The sad thing is, we don't know much about Returned Breaths. Maybe being made a Lifeless changed his body to a version of him with a suppressed Breath? His Breath was likely suppressed at the time of death, though, since Vasher gave him a lot of Breaths, which stunned him, that being harder to do at the 5th Heightening (The stunning, I mean). Thus, Arsteel was probably very skilled, but at human levels of expertise.

Well, it's about time you got on here. If you need help, I am more than willing to tell you how to use spoiler tags, as well as some other tricks I've learned. Also, great signature, and I'm a noble now. Too bad you're not a skaa or bridgeman anymore... P.S. To all those who are wondering, we are friends in real life.

Perhaps Megan could bring chalklings and teddy bear grenades in, as they are both from alternate Earths. (Rithmatist and Alcatraz, respectively)
