  1. It's a Law of Writing: if there is a mysterious group of people with advanced technology, there will be conflict. Although, they may eventually make roads over the ocean to the South.
  2. I recognize cadmium bubbles would be much more reliable, but my theory is whether Steel Ferrings could cause the same effect. Also, it would be cheaper.
  3. They could seriously tweak the story for a movie adaptation, and it could even be that they don't explain that at all, and simply go along with it. Although, Sazed in books two and three would be very hard to do with Morgan Freeman.
  4. I think that the Southern Scadrians will be important. It seems that Trell wants the Northern Scadrians to survive, and for some reason believes that destroying their government will help with that.
  5. Makes you wonder what Santa's done with the power of the Shardpool at our North Pole. Also, He Who Will Not Read Mistborn, Sanderson has a few sci-if short stories, and you might also be interested in Legion. Just thought you'd want to know.
  6. Sanderson wouldn't do that to us. He wouldn't. *starts rocking in a corner clutching a copy of Elantris*
  7. To all those who say that some of Paalm's actions violate Autonomy's intent, remember that Leras stabbed Elend. Sure, his greater goal was to prevent Vin from releasing Ruin, Leras still did something opposite to his Shard's intent. On top of that, Paalm wasn't Autonomy. Paalm was at least minorly able to do what she wished, as she was likely a pawn, not a puppet. Spoiler tag for ADD moment
  8. So, in one thread on this board that I don't want to source, it is theorized that tapping a steelmind essentially makes a bendalloy bubble around you and only you. So, then, could you live for much longer than you otherwise would? Of course you would still age, but assuming you don't get shot and you have an external food supply and all that, could you survive indefinitely? With, of course, steelminds being changed once filled.
  9. Well, maybe they have a Chromium Leecher among them. I've thought that they would make excellent hazekillers.
  10. The original discussion was on how many soldiers would be needed. You really need hazekillers. So, how many hazekillers does it take to kill an Inquisitor? (Assuming the Inquisitor is alone) Seventeen. Eight to hold down the limbs, (two each), eight to shield from incoming metal projectiles, and one to pull out the linchpin spike.
  11. Um... I hate to burst everybody's bubble, but the kandra called TLR their father. Perhaps this is what he was referring to.
  12. Actually, it would be very interesting to see what would happen with those. Would Nicrosil work the same as it does on Allomancy?
  13. Your moustache is ice cold and actual bike handlebars I wish to have one Breath, and to have the number of Breaths I have double each week at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday in my home time zone, with no consumption of Breaths (Either Returned-style or Nightblood-style) without my permission, and to retain my ability to speak in my native tongue with no impairment.
  14. You can only use the powers while sleepwalking. Which happens often.I wish to have every magical ability, so long as it is or will be mentioned in one of Sanderson's books, and maintain those powers throughout my life with no modifications on my lifespan except those caused by the powers in Sanderson's books.
  15. Well done! natc, if you're having trouble with interpreting humor, Elend you some of my ability.
  16. The only way I can wrap my mind around the concept is that it's a bit like Allomancy, and the Elantrians, Forgers, Monks of Dakhor, etc. are all 'Mistings' Correct me if my interpretation is off. I'm not claiming it's the same thing, just similar principle.
  17. Storms. Well, is there a question yet about the magic systems of the ten Shardworlds being linked to the Ten Essences? (Foil, or metal, being Scadrial, for example)
  18. So, I'm still trying to figure out what qualifies different threads to go under different boards. Let me know if this should go under General Brandon or something. I've recently thought it a fun idea to bring an LED light with a charged battery to Roshar, show it to Kaladin or Shallan or someone like that, and get a laugh when they fail at draining the LED of Stormlight. Anyone else have this thought? Any other Radiant pranks, like having Jasnah Soulcast plastic into something?
  19. I realize that thread exists. However, I take special pride in my puns, and am discouraged when they don't turn out well. On that note, Sazed would be excellent in any choir because he has Harmony. (Double pun. Find the first one.)
  20. The Smoker tried to burn a policeman because they're coppers. I have only been on this thread about a day, and I would say I'm Ferring well! Steel your heart, I've got some Epic puns. They just haven't been Awakened yet. My mind is Ladrian with puns. Storms, I need a break. Most of the puns I can think of are rusting pick-up lines!
  21. Do we have a WoB on that?
  22. Perhaps the Weeping is the natural weather of Roshar, and the Highstorms generally come too frequently to allow the Weeping to arrive. Then, because of some reason or another, the Stormfather needs the Highstorms to recharge for a longer period of time than normal.
  23. Is Nightblood made of Aluminum?
  24. Theoryweavers I will speculate even if there is nothing to speculate upon I will ask the questions which have not been asked I will connect that which has not been connected Do we have a Herald yet? Also, can we get Surges based on the Orders presented? Theoryweavers would share Surges with the Referencecallers and the Theorydancers. Perhaps the Surges of Information and Curiosity? The Shipwards have no Oaths after the second, they just orchestrate shippings. You want a lowercase 'i' to get the italics right.
