  1. Silent, steadfast, The remaining soldiers Remain steadfast, and silent. (Keteks are hard)
  2. I'm assuming that picture isn't supposed to be an ad for designswan.com.
  3. What level of pain? And what sort of guilt? Because if either of those questions are tipped the wrong way, then a prison shaped like Aon Kii becomes a really, really inhumane idea.
  4. The game played by the Returned is called Tarachin. One can easily see the roots of the game in "Stones," but it's much more obvious that Eton's making it up (or something happens that basically boils down to "HE'S INSAAAAAAANE!" *jazzhands*).
  5. Wayne, then. Allomancy's definitely a god-given power. Or, perhaps, Hrathen.
  6. Those are the Reshi Isles.
  7. The main problem is that there's very little indication of what's a piece of terrain and what's a modifier. I think a good rule of thumb is to look for bits of Aons that don't correspond to terrain features, e.g. the triangle shapes on the top and bottom of Aon Dii.
  8. How do Lurchers not become anemic? Does their blood not count for their internal reserves or something?
  9. The atiumminds alone are priceless, regardless of their contents. The rest... in this world of ferrings, I can agree. Even the ironmind doesn't seem quite worth it, not for Wax anyway (his power comes from storing weight, not just tapping), and the goldmind, while a bit fuller than Wayne is used to, doesn't seem much to write home about (we can basically assume that all his metalminds were basically full because Compounding). Unless hacking Identity allows one to tap someone else's preexisting metalminds but not store in them, in which case the copper and zincminds become priceless, perhaps even more priceless than the atiumminds. (Can you imagine, the stored memories of the Lord Ruler himself? It'd be a dramatic insight onto Pre-Catacendre history, both before and after the Lord Ruler's Ascension.)
  10. Is there any more to that last question, the one on methods of worldhopping? (He was probably about to mention taking the long route through the Cognitive Realm, given the mention of WoR, but it'd be good to know for certain)
  11. Lightsong perhaps? I know Mercystar thought him a traitor, Llarimar knew him a hero, and he definitely cultivated the image of a breaker of tradition. He definitely harbored a deep bitterness for the superficial nature of much of his divine existence, and once he gave himself a mission, he carried it out to its bittersweet end. It's probably wrong, but we've exhausted all the obvious choices, so now it's time to branch out. A bit.
  12. After that "finite amount of Investiture" answer, I feel that my question about the Dor should probably be revisited. Mainly because that becomes rather relevant to Sel in general. For reference:
  13. Sadeas needs someone really slimy. (I can see the arguments for Sheppard, but I'm still wary of causing audiences to cheer when Adolin shanks him in the eye). (EDIT:By which I mean I don't want people cheering Sheppard's violent death) I love Emma Watson as Syl, though.
  14. Not really. The Reod is a blockage of Investiture alone, while Mistwraiths are a blockage between two selves, so to speak. They might both be between the Cognitive and Physical Realms, but the thing keeping Mistwraiths from their Kandra intelligence isn't a physical feature of the Cognitive Realm like the Dor is.
  15. Hoid, at least, was not auto-compatible with AonDor or with Allomancy. We can definitely add the "What happens if Endowment were to return someone who could call themselves a Sliver?" question to the big list.
  16. Is it perhaps Sazed?
  17. Question one has been repeatedly RAFO'd, and is being reserved for Mistborn Era 3 at the latest. Apart from it being machines that somehow work allomancy (in just the same way as a human that works allomancy), we don't know anything about it. Oh yeah, and it's apparently the Southern Scadrian speciality. The lashings that Kaladin uses to divert the arrows are Gravitation, and thus "Basic" Lashings. Adhesion would be between two objects that are already in contact, and would be "Full" Lashings. And it might be theoretically possible, but that would require a lot of Investiture, for a result that would be highly destructive to Roshar (or indeed any planet you wanted to try it on). If you know the details behind the Lord Ruler's Ascension and defeat of the Deepness (all of which are spoilers for Mistborn Era 1), you should know exactly why planetary orbits are not something to be messed with lightly.
  18. Sounds like Moash to me.
  19. First off, Atium wouldn't make the spiked person a mistborn (or even a misting) - that's what lerasium does to a layman. Lerasium, when used hemalurgically, steals some unknown attribute, which has been consistently RAFO'd since, oh, Hero of Ages. However, if you stuck a hemalurgic Steel spike in a coinshot, and said coinshot elects to burn the spike rather than his other internal stores, then by WoB odd things would happen to their spiritweb. (something along the lines of the coding on the spike getting melted into their spiritweb, IIRC) It is unlikely that any of these things will result in a desirable quality of life afterward.
  20. Kaladin's experienced both a Highstorm hit and a Shardblade injury, so he'd know which one is worse.
  21. What Ookla said, plus the fact that Skaze are melon-shaped balls of blackness (much like Seons are melon-shaped balls of light) with symbols around their edges (much like Seons have Aons inside them). Hoid was doing something with bandages, what it was we don't know, and the scene literally ends with him vanishing into the Shardpool.
  22. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, and a poor judge of character is a poor judge of character. Also note that all of the people you think have been interfered with have quite reasonable reasons for their mistrust. Except Vivenna. Poor, stupid, Princess Vivenna. Although even she has an excuse in that Denth had presented a genial, if strange, face to her and Vasher, well, stood around glaring at her holding an odd sword. EDIT: However, and perhaps more importantly, there's no extra magic systems that would speak to an extra shard warping Investiture around them.
  23. Here's a summary of the bonus content (not counting typos and continuity errors fixed in the main text, which can be found in my changelog thread): Much more interesting, IMO, is the tidbits listed in the Ars Arcanum, including the term "Initiation," referring to becoming a practitioner of Investiture (this is a specific reference to the Shaod and becoming an Elantrian, although the term clearly has applications on each world with a magic system), and the name "Vax" mentioned in the same breath as Taldain, which we know to be the world of White Sand.
