I don´t see such a big problem with a 55 year old(using that number despite we now knowing it isnt absolutely correct;) who´s been keeping in shape being fit and able to fight. In particular using a shardplate. There are people in the 55-60 range who have stunning physices(thats spell ways wrong I think;)). as long as he´s been lucky with not getting any bad injuries, and the shardplate have prolly helped some with that. Dalinar does mention that inside shardplate there is no diff between himself and Adolin, but out of it his age would make a huge difference (when he borrow´s adolins glove)

No kill Dyring was shocked. An inquisitor? that could affect sales and drives customers away! Oh, and its sad that modeft died too he supposed. Only one thing to do, go on the offensive in the real important matter! "Oh rust, Modeft.. damnit, Ill need a drink." After having poored himself(a small) drink, he shouts "To Modeft, whereever he is. Surely he is worthy of a drink in his honor." There, that should get some selling started. Now as long as that lazy bartender is awake... Dyring doesent feel he got anything to go on, and for now votes nokill. ooc - Windrunner, its fine, were still finding the right level for them. Last game most rp was toned down as there was more arguments. prolly need a few games to both find the right amount of people a game should have, and how high on RP etc.

"Right. Need to order more booze if we´re gonna ahve that many here. Bet none of those dimwits though o that. They just drink and don´t consider the important things. Specially not the daft bartender I hired. He thinks the stuff just magically appears it seems like. Atleast he´s stayed away from selling teh good stuff cheap lately. I hope. And if he goes into my celebratory stack again Ill forcefeed him a broken bottle."

I would prefer not really. The dead knows everything, as we were showed the document over abilities when we died. Just messess things upp. Sure, a short haunting maybe, but thats about it. (The one in the last game, I just wrote cause noone had posted in half a day and the dead were all bored.). but nothing that affects the game.

Nice swimmingly, how do you do that? *edit Sorry, couldent resist joking abit with you . It bugs abit for me, I need to use "more reply option" to get it, and can only do it from the start, not mark it, just as I cant copy:p. Try the same. If you dont have my copy bug, that way is real easy. (then its a button above wich you click and get to choose between colours)

Sneak into her home, slack in her coach, eat her snack, and mess up her... whatever she likes to keep orderly(In my place, this part would fail, as nothing is orderly). When she descend upon you with righteous fury, simply state that its a pity you gotto read mistborn at her place, since she wont borrow them to you right now! Oh, and welcome.

Genocide no, but it might be wise to not have parshmen spread all around in position where they can kill large amounts of undefended if they do turn. The Parshendi do what their told. Just send most to live in Natanatan wich seem to be mostly abandoned. Once their not spread amongst the human population, the effect of a turn wont be as bad, and efforts can be taken to stop it. And Eshonai... well perhaps, she should try to talk to the Alethi? worth a try, the last time the Parshendi did, the Alethi made treaty with them and offered them friendship. Might be worth testing if they can make good and stop all the killing yes? Whatever she thinks of herself, Eshonai IS a monster. She is the only one with any chance to initiate peace between the Alethi and the Parshendi at this time, and have been. Also, if it is the Parshendi who will turn.... then why kill Gavilar? How could killing this one human stop themselves from turning bad? Unless Gavilar was turning into a Radiant and they thought they could stop any radiants from coming by killing him, but its kinda stupid. Killing the enemy of my enemy to stop my enemy... well, you hear, its really daft. Something else is going on.

I think your all going to far trying to put names to all of them. Brandon pointed at the expance of densitys in a special way. I think the other three are worlds that we have not seen major books about. (yes, Iv seen some other thought the same,a bout Taldain and such ) Why I think this? What is close in the real world is likely to some degree closer in shadesmar aswell. Thus, the other two planets in the Roshar system is likely two of the expances shown.
-
Sueing for peace is impossible thou. The "end the war" option would be simply leaving, as the Parshendi have refused to talk to them. It would also mean giving up on the gemhearts, their only source of giant gemhearts. He´s propably going to try to send envoys again thou, since the Alethi seemingly gave that up after a while(to early according to Dalinar). Or, he could attempt to contact Eshonai in battle, but thats unlikely as hes not going to go on them it seems.

Why Joel didn't become a Rithmatist (spoilers)
dyring replied to blackmagic3's topic in The Rithmatist
There almost had to be spare "shadowblazes" as it was prior to the regular ceremony. But based on what we know so far, its really odd. If I was as fully into it as Joel, and finasially stable as he is now, I´d visit the places where they found those writing to begin with. Also, he really should ask fitch about those stickfigures... I think he would be really suprised that Joel saw one but didnt become a rithmatist. If I remember right, he just told(tried to tell) Nalazar and (argh, blackout, name lost.. well, "unicorn girl;)) and neither really listened. Or perhaps mr failed rithmatist in the office might be willing to chat carefully about it.... Joel did get him out of jail -
You cant say it that specifically, he only lives for a few hours. He doesent heal extremely much faster thou, no stormlight healing;) You wouldent even have time to notice pewterhealing in that time propably(thou he obviously doesent have simular as pewter for another reason, that he would have been able to ignore it) As said, personally I think the immunity to infections and impurities will make it heal faster and better, but were talking about... well a stab like that, a few weeks to heal enough that it wont impair regular daily life for a normal human? what Im talking about is maybe half the time, and minimal or no scar. Same that before modern medical care, stabs to the stomach and the intestines were often fatal, nasty deaths taking hours, or days, as it spread infections. With enough breaths, you´d propably survive that with some certainty.
-
Betting it doesent help healing, but you will still heal faster if you got a lot of breath Now, to sort that selfcontradictory statement out, most healing is made slower by infections and impurities in the wounds. Its also the main reason for deaths from wounds that doesent kill immidiately or through loss of blood. Since sufficent amounts of breath means that disease and such is not a problem, you would heal faster and cleaner, with virtually no risk of complications. But it would still be regular healing.

Wild Speculation: Dalinar's Boon and Curse (minor spoilers)
dyring replied to Moist_von_Lipwig's topic in Stormlight Archive
Are we sure he went to the nightwatcher right away? I mean, its extremely likely, but its not certain he did it before Gavilars death. Might have been one of the resons for the drinking, and once he started following the codes it ended up being to much. The codes don´t mention the nightwatcher(as far as I know), but I supose he tries to be honorable in other ways aswell... So yeah, extremely unlikely, but unless there is something else wich I don´t know, its not known for sure that it was before? -
send more he sais. so they sent some, without getting replies. And I bet they would act if the canadians murdered the american president during the celebrations after a new treaty, but its not the same. the canadians are well known to the US. And, given the info we have, it would be better not to go to war. But all the Alethi know is that they met some strange parsmen somewhere that none should be, who they welcomed as friends and who then killed their king, then leaving. They didnt have the info we do. In their position, its way different. You gotto consider things from there. I mean, US and allies have started wars knowing their arguments for said war was false. Are america an evil empire?
-
They had only just met the Parshendi. They know nothing of their capabilities, but they believed the were hiding shards(due to parshendi seeming to start summoning blades but stopping). Wich they were correct about. How would they know their not a threat compared to Jah Keved? For all they know, killing the king was to stop him unifying Alethi so the parshendi could invade later(no, I don´t think so, but the alethi had no way to know) If they have access to the assasin in white, whats to say they wont just assassinate one highprince/king after another? If they kill a king for no other reason then to show they can (from alethi pov since they said nothing), whos to say they wont burn down a city next time, before running away hiding on the shattered plains again? Simply put, not acting would invite more attacks. Almost all the blame for the situation lies on the Parshendi in this. If they cannot even bother to explain themselves. If they werent believed, fine, but then theyv atleast tried, and the Alethi might then share the blame.
-
ah, but that is another matter. Fighting the war is, franky, justified in my mind. Fighting the war in they way its been fought, is not, thats a waste of life. But that is what Dalinar is moving to change, step by step.
-
In a world where police does not exist you do if you have the strength, or else those who go around hitting people rules. Cause most they hit will be to weak to hit back, and if you who have the strength do not act, then your partly responsible for the weak being abused. "I will protect those who cannot protect themselves" Perhaps not the right order, but irrelevant for this argument.
-
tbh, someone making a deal with you, then kill your king while you celebrate, and then refuse to talk to you. I would say they kinda had to go to war.
-
Moogle, Dalinar mentions at one point in the book that the alethi sent messengers many times trying to find out why etc, but that the Parshendi refused any contact. (dont have my book, cant give you pagenr) And its not like it would be hard for the Parshendi to capture a few officers in a few of the plateuruns if that was a prob.
-
Or, the parshendi could come forward with why they assasinated Gavilar, and make terms. That would give Dalinar an option to end the war in return for a number of gemhearts or something. I mean, instead of the whole apokalypse thing... since they have refused to talk at all ever since Gavilars death. And if they refuse to even talk, its not that wierd that the war wont end.... "alright. We will die, unless we release the voidbringers so the whole world is at risk. We just cant let all of us die, our whole race, we gotto risk the voidbringers" -"But eshonai, what about just, trying to talk to the Alethi? a new deal and explain?" - "Talk to them? don´t be silly. That would make us look stupid. Now, death or risking the world? wich is it? What? they sent a new messenger ? just kill him and lets get back to deciding"
-
Mr T(And I do pity the fool) is starting in the wrong end. he seems to be trying to kill of any viable leaders so he is the only option, somehow, and that never works. If you are way down on the list and picked cause everyone higher is gone, then its only a short matter of time before someone else comes along thats higher, and all the mess starts again. You never get unity that way, you get constant civilwar(throu intrigue or fighting). That does not make for a strong defence. Also, as of we have seen no inkling that he have a plan on how to take over elsewhere. Hes just breaking everything else down into small bits and hoping for the best it seems

Long Game 1: In the Wake of the Koloss
dyring replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Mat: I didnt much know wich spiked might be what, I knew one of you were mistborn, and I was almost sure you were spiked, but thats about it. I was focusing on Beetle both cause i knew he was spiked while I just thought you were, but also cause I noticed some ppl believed him, and I wanted him removed. sadly, it kinda backfired on me actually, I knew after a while that mistborn was spiked, I didnt think you had a smoker aswell;) suprised me. And for awhile (before rules where rementioned) I thought coinshot was spiked after he had tried to kill both our lurcher and me- 462 replies

Long Game 1: In the Wake of the Koloss
dyring replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Darnam, while I somewhat sympathize with the view that occasionally, some people would have needed to think more carefully, (and I was on your side in that particular debate), sometimes it is better to stay silent. Really, I suggest doing so in this matter. You dont come out sounding well in this. The ones having been fooled is quite aware of it by now. Those who werent fooled were, for the most part, killed;). Its hard to turn of your personal feelings and look purely at arguments and peoples positions. It takes practice. Its just a game. Give them a few of them, and their less likely to be fooled;). Game wouldent be any fun if noone was ever tricked.- 462 replies
