  1. after the prologue my belief was that Steelheart could only be killed by someone who did not intend to hurt him.
  2. Sorry for going completely OT here... but I haveto add something nonrelated so you can all laugh at me. A few days ago, when doing the shardhunt, I spent way to much time looking for what Scadrial don´t have in this thread, thinking it couldent just be a coincident that Chaos posted it just at the morning when the shardhunt was launched.... Felt quite stupid afterwards;)
  3. But building and explosives.. There are always some freak survivors. Someone survives throwing themselves out a window from tenth store since the acidentically lands on something that can take part of the force (some ppl even survived after landing just right on the roof of a car), others survive in the buildings cause they happend to be utterly lucky standing just right etc. Knowing those exact safe spots, or even the "just get somewhat hurt" spots could propably save him - even if he haveto jump out of a window aiming for a fat bloke walking below . There is almost always a very unlikely but possible way to survive. He could get those every time.
  4. Thats kinda weird thou, and in a way almost contradics the books, since it states in the book that the mist was getting frantic since there was no holder when Vin finaly gets the earring pulled out by the Kredik Shaw.
  5. You can do it backwards. Give someone skilled in it some time to study it, and theyll be able to find out exaktely what it does. Sure, its not something you do quickly, but it needs only be done once, then you know. Surely someone, somewhere would have done so, electroengineers(Im not a native englishspeaker, might be giving the wrong title there;)) are rather common. Epics are paranoid. Someone like steelheart would most certainly have had it examined.
  6. Hoid doesent absolutely need to have been born with it thou. Preservation could bestow allomancy on anyone he want even without Lerasium, by an act of will. (as shown by Sazed when making Spook a full mistborn. And Hoid(almost certainly) new all of the shards before them gaining the powers. In the letter he notes that Ruin was a nice person once. If now Feruchemy is of both Ruin and Preservation, what is to stop them, just having ascended, to show/reward their friend/helper with feruchemy? Now, I´m not really fully advocating the above stand, just pointing out, there is other possibilities then the master DNA thing, its possible, but not certain.
  7. Consider the amount of mobiles. How to know who got wich? How to know wich mobile to listen in to? The tinkering Tia/Abraham was to do to the mobiles was likely to make them nameless, or with a random name, so even if there is a major listen operation, listening to specifik words simular to what some goverments are almost certainly doing, they wouldent know where to find the cellphone the next time. A smaller version of this is the current paymobiles one can buy(not sure what their called in english ). Its not registered to you, you fill them up by bying "notes" in a shop, so while you could trace the phone, you can´t link it to a person. So finding what phone to listen in to among millions... well, thats rather impossible.
  8. Vin .. thou Im getting a tad old for that. Otherwise.. Sarene seems fun, and I am prolly tall enough (1.92 should do it I think;)) A forger could be kinda useful.... but nah. So, those 2 would be the options
  9. "Ctrl-Alt-Del" Fragile epickiller. Primary power - able to temporarily block/turn off the effect of epic abilities, in both others and myself. scope limited by power levels(can hold minor epics or the minor powers of major epics closed off almost indefinately, but the stronger/the larger number of epics/powers the shorter time they can be closed before I´m exhausted. Invincibility powers particulary difficult to turn off. Sidenote - this means also able to turn off the "evil effect" powers have on others or oneself. This use is not particulary tiring. Secondary power - Limited use of the powers he is currently blocking. third - "lifesense" aware of everyone nearby, epics easier to sense than others. Basically, the lifesense you get from alot of breath in warbreaker. Fourth - "hard drive memory" perfect memory regarding the powers he have seen, and who used them. Basically, he is almost impossible to defeat by epics, and with a strong epic nearby to leach power from he is incredibly powerful since he´s two main powers work together. But a simple mortal with a gun is a major issue if there is no epic around to steal abilities from....
  10. Liked it. While this is propably an odd comment to make since both are a sort of fantasy, this actually felt less realistic then the cosmere books, propably because the magic felt abit more "handwave" then in say mistborn, less bound by rules. The main rule here seem to be that there must be a weakness. But as said, it was great fun, if not quite as good as say, mistborn, Way of kings or Elantris. Admittedly, part of this may come from a personal skeptisism of "alternate earth" fantasty. I did get sure that Megan was an epic after the elevator incident, thou I expected her to be a "new" epic, not wanting to become like the others, and scared to be detected. I wondered about prof´s tensor dislike but never really thought he was an epic too. I did not think Megan was really dead, but I wasent quite sure....
  11. Propably unpleasant thou, Sawdust isnt dangerous, but the times Iv had it blown in my face have been damnation unpleasant. And that she got angry, she had just used her powers. She got nasty for a while then.
  12. 2 things. First - In awakening, you cant poke at something colored with a stick, you gotto touch it yourself. And secondly, In awakening that is no longer true with sufficient breath. You no longer need to even speak the commands. Nevermind thou, Ill drop this until some day I feel like actually make a real theory around it.
  13. That is one of the points. If its a matter of them choosing, and that the aeon does not need to be visible, would they not with training be able to do it fully mentally? By imagining the symbol so to speak. If its their choice that matters. It doesent fit logically. If 1+1 is 2, and 2+1+1 is 4, then 2+2 should be 4 aswell;) Nevermind thou. Its a magical thing. Sometimes, logic just doesent need to work in it. just used to it doing so in these magic systems;)
  14. Hmm. Lets see if I can explain what I mean better, cause I don't think it got through my text:) The act of drawing, if you can appoint a stick to do the line wich will make the Aeons instead of your fingers, then you should be able to do so with your mind only, imagining a line being made. Since there is obviously no other magic in the stick itself. Cause if you draw a line with a stick, there is obviously nothing magical with the line itself. Its all coming from your mind. Its like saying a 10:th heightening awakener can awaken something if he picks up a random stick(or anything at all) and poke it with from 30 feets, but not with his mind alone. Wich would be kinda odd to me;). Thou I suppose that might be the way those who are to be Elantrians are choosen. Takes those got the spiritual DNA for using Aeons, and turn them into Elantrians when they start to get access to their powers. That would explain the lack of "normal" magicusers, and that they are all so powerful. I´v always just assumed it was a part of Aona who turned those who was truly devoted to something. (Raoden to the people, Galladon to farming, Baron Aanded to sculpting, etc etc.
  15. I agree that was kinda my point, that's why its so peculiar with an elantrian being able to draw with a stick, yet not a non-elantrian at all if that's the case. Its very odd that the magic should be able to transfer through anything held by an elantrian in such a manner. Especially as one Elantrian could make the first half of a glyph, and a second the rest.
  16. It is however, a tad illogical methink If an Elantrian can draw an Aeon with a stick, then its not needed to be a part of his body. That means the Elantrian either: A: Can transfer the "creation magic" to the point of a stick(or other items). This would be equal to a feruschemist being able to poke his metalminds with a stick to access it. or B: It is really all mental, and you could as an elantrian, with training, simply picture the glyph In your mind, and it would be in effect. Same, regarding your point with cancelling a glyph, an elantrian should be able to cancel a glyph by poking it with a stick. And any single one Elantrian could cancel the giant "city of Elantris" glyph by poking it with their finger. That's kinda.. dangerous. Im sure there have been some suicidal/mad Elantrians over time, nasty if they can cancel elantris that easily. Also, could then a bonemonk(The name have gotten erased from my head temporarily:p) cancel the city of elantris glyph too, like the gradget did Raoden´s disguise?
  17. One other detail in this thread necromancy here;) (And I hope it wasent mentioned, read all posts I could see relating to this, but jumped those wich didnt seem to relate to this part of it) Elantris and the Aeon use of non-elantrians. Could not the "shaod", with or without elantris, mostly be about giving the ability to draw Aeons in the air? It was noted that Sarene could not, despite trying, draw Aeons. That is not correct. What Saerene could not do was draw lines in the air. It is quite possible, I would say even likely, that Saerene would ahve been just as able as Raoden to draw the line in the ground wich "fixed" elantris. So a non-Elantrian could very likely(in my mind) use Aon-dor - but they could not draw lines in the air, they would need to use another medium and sculpt the symbols, just like is done with forging in emperors soul. Comments?
  18. Ill second that. Tbh, he almost already plays Kelsier in the series... mentalist.. something whatever its called:), and hes low rank enough that its possible, Vin should be a new face I think. Better that way. Try to get a big name in somewhere else instead if financers demand it. Kinda like they did in Stardust, where the male lead is unknown, the female lead only "rather big", but both Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer have "big minor" roles. As for Paul Bettany, wouldent he make a better Zane? . Lord Renoux... Leonard Nimoy? (aka, Spock). He should have the right age, and without vulcan makeup, he could do nicely.
  19. I doubt the electroplating would survive the process of being fired and spinning out of a firearm´s pipe. And same, the gun may be immune from start, but after the first few shots are fired, there will be tear.
  20. I dont think we have seen "the element". Lerasium is a part of preservation. Hoid grabbed it. I think "the element" is a simular part of the shard wich lives on the Recipients planet. Likely the shard still on dragonsteel planet. otherwise the recipient of the letter wouldent know what it was.
  21. What I would like to know is if one highstorm is enough, or they need several while pupating. If one is enough, a bunch is going to succede with pupating despite the hunting, as some will climb up to near a highstorm for a hunt to be possible. If Several is required, I doubt any is successful at all.
  22. Just adding one. Breeze = Stephen Fry. Would just be perfect;)

    Wax's Heritage

His name is Waxilium Ladrian. Breeze´s last name was Ladrian. Was mentioned in the original triology.
  24. Total war is fun. Played the first shogun, loved it, then missed a few, found it again with mediveal 2, played all since. I heard theyr talking about doing a total war in the warhammer world, so their open to such things. But I´d think Brandon needs to get even more popular, or have a mistborn movie do very well for that to be possible
