God Beyond (Major Mistborn Spoilers)
ParadoxicalZen replied to WayneSpren's topic in Cosmere Discussion
The God beyond is also mentioned in The Emperor's Soul by Shai (i think it was that one) which is about ~30yrs or so after Elantris. Although the timeline hasn't been set out to the nearest year, Elantris i believe is a few thousand years or so before mistborn and AoL -
Spoilception? Even just realising the whole Cosmere was interconnected Shattered my mind. Now...every easter egg I see just makes more and more Splinters

Playing Musical Instruments anyone ?
ParadoxicalZen replied to Queen Elsa Steelheart's topic in Entertainment Discussion
I wish I could play instruments The ones I'd like most to play would be Violin/Cello, Flute, Harp, Ocarina and maybe Piano -
Given the individual prices and overall price, I only really want a couple anyway. Only just seen Avacyn's price tag Q_Q but defo Platinum Angel, Akroma, Exalted, Iona, wouldn't mind entreat the angels but damnation that's a little too steep And just discovered Obelisk of Urd. Not a bad alternative for DoD but perhaps better used in conjuntion

"I'm gonna be a mighty goat, like good goats from before" "Oh, I just can't wait to be goat" "I'mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, hooked on a goat" "Tale as old as time, song as old as rhyme. Beauty and the Goat" "Someday, I'll...make a goat out of you" "We are Goats! We must be swift as the coursing river" "Be our Goat" "Expense?" Wit cut in. "Why Sadeas, I don't believe you've ever paid me a goat"

1. First rule of The Theoretical Society is don't talk about The Theoretical Society 2. If the First Rule is broken....It wasn't your fault. It wasn't your fault. It wasn't your fault. It wasn't your fault.

I did say in my previous post that Adonalsium was shattered equally, excluding prior events of Investing things, meaning creating Splinters and the like. I'd still disagree, given that these Splinters of Adonalsium would be primarily Invested in the planets Adonalsium created them on, and could perhaps range from Honorspren size to Godspren size (Cusicesh and Stormfather), depending on however the magic manifests itself on each respective planet. As we've seen from SA with Honour and Cultivation's arrival, The Stormfather was most likely pure Adonalsium before taking up the majority of Tanavast's power and possibly dispersing it in the form of of more spren to act as a release valve, therefore that act could change The Stormfather from pure Adonalsiumspren to more Honour-aligned spren (this is speculation, but i'm rocking this head-canon given what we know of SA so far). Going from the Letter's reply, members of the 17th Shard - supposedly Hoid's 'old reptile' friend and in turn Thinker, Grump and Blunt - advocate a policy of non-intervention, which Hoid thinks foolish given Odium's track record. The reason why the 17th Shard are chasing Hoid is because all he does is meddle and interfere, which conflicts with their 'intent' because they fear he'll do more harm than good in the long run should he continue his ways. Another point would be that you can't really take up a Splinter's power as it is a portion of power that has become self-aware. Bond it perhaps, akin to Spren/Seons, but not take it up as you would take up Shard.

Hmm, I'll give it some thought, but i doubt I will (due to your solid reasoning as well as other card priorities) Any thoughts on the From the Vault: Angels package? Some of them i wouldn't mind for my Angels and Demons deck

Or perhaps don't trust professors who're secret anti-bronies/Discord fans?

The Sharders are here for support! (and spikes cookies!) -
Sweet, wasn't entirely sure if it only applied to cards that had to have 'minotaur' as the creature type text or if it worked with those who had Minotaur as a sub-type. Sorely tempted to buy a doubling season next month...Q_Q ...and I've just seen Privileged Position...

"THEY DON'T EVEN BELONG TO THIS GALACTIC FEDERATION"

Or perhaps it could be a case of Murphy's law or a Galactic Butterfly effect On the subject of trigger warnings, I've rarely come across them but I've never been around or looked for material that would require them. Although, I do agree some kind of disclaimer should be used,

That...or they could just obliterate us from orbit then carry on with their lives...just for kicks Or destroy our Star, we'd barely know what happened before we either froze to death or spontaneously combust. Or perhaps > scan the planet, analysing our Internetz > they land and take one long look at us then just facepalm for even longer > look to each other and shake their heads > then they'll leave and do the aforementioned pewpewpew That...or i'm just kayana

I reckon Kaladin could go faster with more Stormlight and probably has more maneouvreability

WoB cut for relevancy. It seems to me that Adonalsium was shattered into 16 equal pieces, or nigh on near enough anyway (excluding prior events of Investing things. It seems to me that the 17th shard isn't meant to be taken as an actual Shard but to be interpreted/seen as more of a metaphorical/physical/underlying representation of an extra Intent

Running...outside? Saying that, I like rollerblading ^^

It's all still up in the air as to the inner working Sel's magic systems, and if distance decay applies to all of them. We have it via WoB that distance also applies to Soulstamps but as for ChayShen and Dakhor, we'll have to wait and see. It could be that it is a form of Haemlurgy and that given most of the power is Invested inside the body, it doesn't deteriorate. In fact, that is now my next question

Hahah, this is true. I have heard Scotland is far more terrible during winter than England. Canada is on my list to travel to at some point

55F/12-13C is like average in the Britain/UK, when it is really hot (20+C) or really cold to below freezing (-5c) the whole place goes Chicken Little, especially if it is like a few inches of snow, it is quite funny. As for interesting things.... My eyes change colour depending on the situation. Normally they're a cool blue/sometimes turquoise but when allergies kick in (or some other circumstance) and my eyes go red, the iris goes bright emerald green. I have near perfect vision as defined by an Optician, but i'm slightly short sighted in one eye I'm incredibly accident prone and like a Bull in a China shop (I have to keep arms tucked in and stay in the middle of an aisle when walking past ceramics ) I swear, it isn't my fault. I also have to beware of falling food jars from cupboards too. I'm always injuring myself due to lack of spatial awareness (walked into a few trees, lamp posts, telephone poles in my time) I even did something weird to my foot by stubbing my big toe on the last stair which stopped me walking without a crutch/stick for a week. As my chosen name suggests, I love conundrums, paradoxes and puzzles, especially when the answer stares at me for so long in the face (thinking of when i finally discovered all the Cosmere books were interlinked) Big fan of Escher's Staircase and the mobile game series The Room I speak sarcasm fluently and often have Shallan's habit of letting my mouth run away with me with glib/sarcastic retorts I can be incredibly dense, yet equally genius. In regards to the above injuring and accident prone-ness, I'm also incredibly adept at losing stuff (typically valuables, much to the chagrin of my family and close friends) that it is almost an art form I am distantly related to Queen Elizabeth I through Sir Thomas Wyatt the younger (who was made an inadvertant leader of Wyatt's rebellion) and who's father is supposedly famous for bringing the Sonnet to Britain (how true this is i do not know) and am sometimes a bit of poet myself I sometimes have an amazing ability to draw but most of the time I'm stormng rubbish I'm left handed when writing but mostly use my right hand (my attempts to write right-handed are hilarious)

Hmm, sounds like what me and my friends play (within reason as only one friend has cards dating back to late nineties/early noughties) EDIT: Spelling, and question time again Would Door of Destinies work in a Minotaur deck? As in, as long as a creature name has Minotaur in it somewhere, the effect would still apply?

On the basis of terminology, I'd argue that you don't actually burn Lerasium the first time - and your body actually digests it - as I was always thought that ingesting the bead is what grants you access to/heightens that extra little bit of Preservation inside Scadrialese humans, manifesting as allomancy (or what Moogle said) whereas actually burning it (actually having allomancy first to burn the metal) provides a different effect (via WoB). It does make me wonder if ingesting Atium has any effect on a non-allomantic Scadrialese human though, I think that might be my next question.
