  1. Taravangian is a well written character. Each time you see him he becomes someone else. First is a kind old king. Then he appears to be childlike as well. Then he appears to be a ruthless murderer causing chaos and war for no reason. Then he becomes a mastermind with a dark sinister plan. He changes constantly and our opinions change as well. Honestly he's one of Brandon's best written characters.
  2. Not necessarily. It records memories. If you were to write down a hypnosis script and then read it aloud only storing that memory then when a different person tapped it, they could become hypnotized. It would depend on mental strength I think. Really cool idea!
  3. Didn't Vivi have her mind read by Nightblood? She didn't draw him but I remember them speaking to each other.
  4. I wonder. We all kind of assume that Hoid is on his own. We see him alone all the time and he seems to be chased wherever he goes. I wonder if he has hidden allies. Ones that we have overlooked. After all even the 17th shard appears to have unexpected friends. Maybe we should look to see if Hoid does as well.
  5. I agree with Calderis. I think that Hoid is a "Lightweaver" by virtue of knowing that magic type.
  6. It seems like the magic systems Brandon creates are going to start dealing with the Spiritual Realm a bit more which is Awesome!
  7. Actually Matter is Energy. They are the same thing but in separate states. That's why energy cannot be created or destroyed.
  8. You know the fact that Odium is Invested on a planet might create a metal on that planet. Maybe All Gods make a metal, a liquid, and a gaseous state. So Odium has a God Metal and gave it to Autonomy to carry to Scandrial.
  9. I think most of his "power" comes from blending the systems. We saw how powerful Feruchemy powered by Allomancy is. I think he has access to many systems and the blending of more than one is what he draws from. Think about it if you can power Feruchemy with say two systems in a weird hack then the power gained might do even stranger things.
  10. The Shades are almost dumb or like animals in the physical realm. They move but don't do very much, however Kelsier didn't even have a form in the physical realm. They could be vastly more powerful in the Cognitive realm and a serious threat to worldhoppers.
  11. The survival shard would fit Kel perfectly!
  12. I'm pretty sure that Shards have to be invested in the system to be able to influence the magic on a world. Can I see quotes that the other Shards could even make metals that are able to use the metallic arts?
  13. Use abrasion to make your hands have extra friction and then give them an Indian Burn.
  14. I think that Nightblood is more powerful than a Shardblade because of the amount of Investiture used to create him. The Honorblades might be just as powerful as Nightblood. Also it might be easier to use Nightblood on Roshar which would make him more powerful just because stormlight is easier to find and use.
  15. I was sure that the Stormfather was a splinter of Honor not a spren. He is more. Also at the end of the book he mentions to Dalinar that he will not be bound in a way to kill him. So I think that was the first time he had bonded someone.
  16. I thought the plague might be related to one of the unmade waking up. I think that it belonging to Taravagian is possible but not likely. It is really hard to poison a nation, especially one spread out over a massive lake. They aren't all concentrated in one area.
  17. Ruin + Dominion + Odium = Total Destruction!
  18. the Unmade are the opposites of the Heralds. they are the gods of the listeners kind of how the stormfather is divine to the humans, but the almighty is above him like Odium is above the Unmade.
  19. I think one of the reasons Vasher threw Nightblood at people was because of two reasons. He threw Nightblood because if he drew him for every battle he would run out of breaths Very Quickly. Szeth doesn't have that problem because he can fuel Nightblood with stormlight which is much more plentiful. Also Vasher threw Nightblood because he was a distraction. Evil men wanted to use him and would kill themselves as they drew the sword. Szeth would keep the blade and use it because he has the power to fuel him for extended periods of time.
  20. Lord of the Rings if you haven't already. Also A Wizard of Earthsea.
  21. I think they are all interesting choices. I believe in Brandon. I lot of people were saying how Shallon would be a terrible character for a book when it was released that WoR was her book. Look how that turned out. These flashback books will all be amazing! That being said I am most excited for Szeth and Nightblood. I think Brandon will show how Nightblood came to be separated from Vasher and how Szeth came to be truthless. So excited!
  22. There is another shard that is not on a planet. Was that one mentioned because as it is not attached to a world that makes it harder to catalog.
  23. I think Nightblood would be an interesting flashback! So much evil destroyed!
  24. Civilization 230: What it means to be human- Taught by Professor Human and Professor Clod.
