So I haven't seen any posts about this. Not that they don't exist I just haven't seen any. In all other worlds the immortality has been explained through the magic systems. The Elentrians are immortal through AonDor. the Lord Ruler use compounding to become immortal. In Warbreaker anyone above the 5th Heightening is immortal. How are the Heralds staying young after all this time. there is no lashing as of yet that allows Immortality. I doubt it was the Almighty because he is dead and the Oathpack was broken. So how are they still alive?

I think they are not any of the listed above. I don't think they are spren, voidbeings, or Chasmfiends. Thunderclasts maybe. I think they are different then all of these and are an unknown as of now.

Vasher lost Nightblood. It is not unreasonable to think he lost Viviana as well.

Wait a minute-(Mistborn spoilers, revival WoR spoilers)
Dawnshard replied to CrystalShadow's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think all aspects of a person fade at the same time. It takes a while before the brain shuts down completely. The soul and the mind can still be recalled for a few minutes after death. Vin was dead more than 10 minutes after sazed took power. He fixed the planet, the people and also remade everything. Vin and Elend were quite dead at this point. Szeth was not dead very long. Nalan could have still revived him. -
Baby is your name Domi? Because I think I love you!

Favourite Obscure/Side Characters in the Cosmere
Dawnshard replied to Iredomi's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Zane definitely! -
I think it could be Cultivation's name because in Mistborn he slipped the two shard names right by us. I think this could be a similar occurrence. Also in the Stormlight Archive it is harder to spot things because there is so much more going on.

which planets are in the Rosharian System? I thought Silence Divine and White Sand where both set in the Rosharian System and if so where is Sixth of Dusk set?

I have information from the Huntington signing. Its word of Brandon. First lift will be a major character in the second grouping of 5 books, books 6-10.He mentioned that he was seeding characters from the first part into the second. Also a new shard not the shard that wants to hide and survive is "not on a planet."

Keep in mind that the shards and the powers you are talking about came from the same magic system. Odium is from a different Investiture. Also different shards have different powers. Hoid is also a lot more powerful than Vin and can use allomancy much better than she can. At least he has been practicing for a long time if he immediately ingested the bead.

Does Hoid Possess a Shard? (WoR Spoilers)
Dawnshard replied to Sevynwarr's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Really. What evidence? -
Nightblood would destroy the shardblade. A radiant blade that is a live spren is a fraction of the shard of Honor. Nightblood has thousands of Breath. A Breath is a small fragment of Endowment. Nightblood also corrupts Investiture. The blade would be corrupted and destroyed. Nightblood might have some small damage from the interaction of different Investiture.

At the LA signing my cousin asked if we would see lift more and he said that in the second part of the Stormlight Archive she will be a major character. Brandon said that he is seeding other main characters for the second part through the first part. What other characters do you think will become main focuses.
-
So I asked Brandon at the LA signing if he could tell us about a shard that we don't know anything about (including the survival shard) and he said that there was a shard that isn't on a planet. Now I think this means that the shard is either on an asteroid, or a star. It could also be floating in space or on a moon and influencing from a distance. I will repeat it is not any shard we already know about.

Good Day Ladies and Gentlemen and Welcome to GAME OF TOMES. Cue thunder and lightning. Now some of you can't help it, you read really fast. Some of you have to go back work, others have to get their Sanderson fix, and some of you love the challenge. Now how you play is simple. You look at when you star reading the book and when you finish. You may only count the amount of time spent reading. if you made yourself a bagel, the time spent making Doesn't Count. If you read the pre-chapters and decide to skip the first few Doesn't Count. You must start at the beginning of Words of Radiance. Also you can't keep rereading the book to lower your time. You must swear on a truth spren (I know you are out there!) to play Honestly. The person with the lowest time is declared KING/Queen of READING!!! until the next book. Then there is a new ruler. The person with the lowest average time of the 9 Books (yes 9 because Way of Kings already happened) is declared EMPEROR OF READING! also the person with the highest time spent reading is named Court Jester and may in fact be Hoid in hiding. Let the Game of Tomes Commence , you either win or you DIE!
-
Totally! lets create a post counting the amount of hours it takes people to finish it! the person who wins gets to be KING OF READING!!!!!!! cue thunder and lightning. Also people have to start at the begining even if they read the excerpts. From start to finish.

Hi I am a really fast reader and I am planning on not stopping until I am done with Words of Radiance. I am not saying this to brag but because I am wondering if we can create a new area for Words of Radiance spoilers and for book three right after the book is out for the really fast readers. We could make it separate from the regular Words of Radiance posts so we don't have people who haven't finished the book accidentally coming in. Can we do this please? I know there are at least a few other people who read really fast.

I Will... (The Knights Radiant Ideals)

I will walk were angels fear to tread. Order of Fools -
Will you skip ahead in Words of Radiance?
Dawnshard replied to eveorjoy's topic in Stormlight Archive
I don't believe that because the movie memento if you see the ending it ruins the movie but it is a phenomenal movie! or a hundred other examples. -
Anyone else wish WoR flashbacks weren't Shallans?
Dawnshard replied to Benjibooboo's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think one of the later books, four or five, might be galivar. That would be really interesting. My fav would be Szeth though. I am super interested in his backstory. Also didn't someone mention one of the Parshendi might have a flashback. -
Will you skip ahead in Words of Radiance?
Dawnshard replied to eveorjoy's topic in Stormlight Archive
I plan on getting the book if there is a midnight release near me. I then will spend all night or the next day reading it. I can finish it in a day. and a little bit. I am skipping that day at school to read it. Then the next night I am driving 4 hours in heavy LA traffic (yes there is a difference) to be at Brandon's next signing having already read the book to ask him questions. Epic plan! -
I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed that there are no other radiant created weapons. I mean I understand that swords are useful but only swords? What about spears, lances, even real shard bows. Or even shard plate for horses. I am curious to see what others think about it. I mean many cultures have different systems of fighting and if you are fighting monsters for the sake of creation I would like more tactics that can be used against the void.

I actually think that the large sun/moon/thing was actually the planet in the Rosharan solar system. I think its name was Silence. The reason I think this is because the more concentrated thought is the greater Shadesmar is. The light is coming from thousands and thousands of people's thoughts emanating from another planet, creating the light source. Also this is not a strong theory more of a small possibility.

I just want to point out that Aimian have shadow's that point to the sun and during the Rysn Interlude she says that the shadow is a "Voidbringer shadow" and several times there are mentions of the people with one are cursed. I don't believe that Jasnah is cursed but she may have a conection to something. The mistwriths in Mistborn were called evil by the skaa but were actually just animals. I think it is superstition.

So I have been thinking about what Hoid is doing. He has a specific purpose and his wanderings always have a secret agenda. He helps people but he also gets what he wants. He has the Moon Scepter, a bead of Lerasium, he probably has Breaths and who knows what he is after on Roshar. Many on the Forums think Hoid has a Shard or wants a Shard or even doesn't want a Shard. I think Hoid does want a Shard but the right Shard. Each Shard has a specific Intent which shapes the bearer. Odium does not want any Shard that is not his because it would corrupt his original Intent which fits his plans. Hoid is looking for a Shard that will have the same Intent as him. In order to have a Shard that has the same Intent as him, Hoid is going to create a new Shard. The magic systems are basically condensed versions of each Shard. Hoid already has access to several magic systems. He is going to create a 17th Shard using the basic components of each Shard. Magic that has Invested an object makes it harder to manipulate with other magics but if you forced all of the magics together the amount of power would create a Shard. Vin had a similar experience. When she absorbed the Mists of Preservation she ascended because as the power forced itself into her, it rewrote her sDNA and ripped troughs through her soul and caused her to ascend. Hoid might concentrate all of the magic of all the Shards into one object causing it to become a Shard. He could then take up this Shard which because it is built from all Shards would be a smaller version of Adonalsium. Hoid could then continue his battle for the Universe and his original purpose. I think the gathering of magic systems is a means to an end not the end itself. Also the recipient of the letter knows about Hoid's plans. He created a group called the 17th Shard just to mock Hoid as the group is dedicated to finding him.
