  1. Always good to have new players! Wasn't very long ago for me that I was new, so welcome. Just make sure you check the boards at least once a day or so and don't go inactive, and otherwise don't worry. We try not to kill new players too quickly anyways.
  2. Remart rolled out of bed and stretched his arms before reaching for his metal leg. He didn't always unstrap it, but since he'd started storing his calories in it, he took it off a bit more often to make sure he didn't start unconsciously start drawing on them and putting on weight in the middle of the night. Granted, that probably wasn't possible, but he liked his new figure and didn't want to take any chances. Grabbing up a sweet roll he'd left on his bedside table and taking a bit (savoring and accepting the calories this time, letting it fill him up somewhat), he pulled on his long brown overcoat he'd purchased, then frowned as he felt something in the pocket. Remart squinted at the note he pulled out, somewhat crumpled but written with impeccable penmanship. That wasn't there last night. He shrugged and unfolded it. Dear Remart, You have been invited to Fadrex, by the will of Lord Tekiel. And to refuse such an offer would be unprecedented. Tekiel? He'd never met the man, but he knew him by reputation. In the wake of the Lord Ruler's apparent death (which the letter seemed to confirm was true), the chaos in the empire meant he would appreciate a place with some stability, and a good supply of food if nothing else. He didn't know what qualities they might have identified, and as far as he knew, he'd not revealed the secret metalmind in his leg to anyone (not that they'd be that interested in someone who could simply eat as much as he wanted without getting fat), but he was certainly intrigued. Whoever delivered this had done so either in the bar before he'd stumbled up to bed, or…he didn't see any marks around the door or the window, but he had recollections of someone coming in through a window once and…he couldn't remember exactly, he just thought he remembered a flash of metal. Regardless, that was a memory from another time, not this night. He pulled on his boots and packed up his satchel, then headed out the door of the inn and turned down the road towards the canals. Fadrex sounded like a good place to visit right now, in any circumstances, and he had nothing to tie him down. Let's see what this Fool has in store for us.
  3. Oh, it's not overblown at all. If you have a puddle of standing water anywhere, it's virtually guaranteed that there will be mosquitos spawning from it before long. I've seen swarms of them you wouldn't believe, but they're also just almost never absent. We usually don't get a good freeze either, so they don't get killed off in the winter.
  4. Hah, no worries. I'm liable to do the same to you sometimes. The perils of being an active player (though I was much less active than I planned due to being sick). I admit to being a bit confused as to the Shadow role too. Phatt and I just hid ourselves because we had no way to know who else would be valuable, but then to find out there were no scanners...guess it was a bit of a troll move. Oh well, didn't hurt anything either, just weird to me. Three Elims is what I'd expect from a game this size, though (I ran a game with 9 people and 3 Elims and the Elims lost, though that was in person). Well done, Mage, Stick, and Lopen. I didn't suspect ya'll until the end, and Stick not at all.
  5. It's a Thumb Drive.
  6. (My own creation, I might add.)
  7. Ohm, I knew these puns would meet resistance.
  8. So my family got sick for about 8 hours each, but felt fine in between, umm, "getting sick" times. I've been sick for 3 days now, still can barely eat anything, and feel miserable all the time, without being able to actually expel anything. I did sleep through pretty much the entire day today, so that was ok.
  9. Shall we switch to transistor humor?
  10. The way I see it, Sazed believes that an imperfect god is better than no god, especially since he may not know how to splinter the Shards and keep anyone else from taking them up. He's definitely got some double standards going on, though.
  11. The frequency of bad puns in this thread hertz.
  12. Huh, that is interesting. I had given him a pass for a bit because he said he wasn't going to be around (in the blue text), but I hadn't realized how much he was lurking. At the moment, changing my vote wouldn't really affect much, but I would consider it, or would vote for him next cycle.

  14. Agreed. Maybe Nazh gave them to her.
  15. @DroughtBringer, I doubt they would have worried too much about pushing that lynch, but considering Bart would have been lynched D1 if I hadn't retracted my vote, I'd like to think I'm fairly clear by that criteria. I can't imagine any reason I would have done that were I an Elim, since it would be an easy one to play off. Edit: Len, I find myself suspicious of you every game, just a bad gut read (probably has something to do with that first game I played with you ), but your logic about HH's post is striking. Knowing what we know now, I'm inclined to agree. It makes me wonder about Lopen too, since he's voting on you, but that could easily be Village!Lopen genuinely suspecting you. Heck, he could be right, and if HH is village, I'll probably go after you next, but right now I'm more sold on him. HH
  16. Alright, so I avoid resurrecting threads of course, but since this is one of Yata's espoused theories and there is new information pertinent to it, I think it's appropriate. I stumbled across this WoB from a few months ago: This would seem to indicate that the Dor is indeed mixed to the point of being truly combined, but of course those Shards aren't whole. I think it lends a lot of credence to this theory! Edit: it's the very last WoB on this page: http://www.theoryland.com/intvsresults.php?kwt='harmony'
  17. If someone swallowed and burned Lerasium while on Roshar or another planet (not Scadrial), would it still turn them into a Mistborn by default?
  18. @Hemalurgic_Headshot Couple notes. I did indeed vote on Bart D1, but then you missed that I retracted it (hence no one getting two votes and there being no lynch). For D2, my vote on Sart was well explained at the time. Was I confident? No, that's virtually impossible right now. He was my best suspicion based on the plan he'd put forward, though.

  20. Ugh, guess the Elims figured that Bart/Aman wasn't getting lynched anytime that soon and wanted to take them out (probably just as a known quantity with the potential to be dangerous, though we'll want to reexamine their posts probably). I'll get more analysis up when I can, I'm still very sick and probably won't be up for a more in-depth post until tomorrow.
  21. Wait, I'm missing where the dyslexic part comes in...
  22. True. Right now I'd be thankful to just be able to throw up. I'm at that incredibly frustrating phase of feeling awful but having nothing to expel.
  23. Thanks. And yeah, probably won't be a particularly happy birthday, but at the same time, this should be over by then (for me) if my wife and son's experience is anything to go by.
  24. My turn to be sick now. Which means my daughter will be throwing up in a few days, just because we can't all be sick and then done, we have to stretch it out as long as possible.
