  1. The following passages from TWoK and WoR: The passage from the in-world WoK where Nohadon walks to Urithiru. The passage from the in-world WoK about the candles. The passage from Hoid, at the end of TWoK, about what men value most. The passage from Hoid about art and expectations. Hoid's talk with Shallan about the two blind men, and what beauty is. The story of Fleet. The story of the Wandersail.
  2. I KNOW RIGHT? So much goodness, so much scholarlyness. (Scholarality? Scholaracity?) We need a new word to describe Elend in particular. Kind of like Crapaflapnasti, but exactly the opposite.
  3. You can find both versions of every edit that was made to WoR, here.
  4. It feels really good to live ~20 min. from the Wilk.

  6. As I stated before, I've had unforeseen IRL events interfere with my ability to play. In fact, I'm only posting now to let everyone know that my mother has recently had a stroke, and that's the last straw for me this game. I look forward to being able to join future games, but it will probably be a while before I do. I'd like to thank Ren for GMing what looked to be a truly enjoyable game of SE, and everybody for their understanding. Tl;dr: My mom just had a stroke, so I'm out.
  7. I extremely regret my recent inability to contribute. Important (and unforeseen) events interrupted with my ability to play this game. I enjoy SE, but it ranks low on my list of priorities, and definitely well below certain issues that have come to an unexpected head over these last couple of days. The issues in question are (mostly) resolved at this point, but do to the pressures of school and the job I was recently offered, I will not be able to play with my usual level of activity. That said, I do intend to continue with this game. Please just remember that I have a lot to catch up on, and that I have a lot on my plate right now, and I'm still learning to balance all of it. I am confident that I'll still have the time, but it'll take me a bit to be back up to full capacity. Edit: grammar.
  8. Aaaaaaaaaaaaand I'm back. Analysis forthcoming sometime tomorrow morning (which is in about 11 1/2 hours for me, in case anybody's wondering.) I gotta say though, that was quite the D1. It portrayed exactly why I'm in favor of D1 lynching. Now we have a good amount of discussion to base suspicion on. Edit: capitalization.
  9. This is a highly controversial issue. Some people believe the first-turn lynch to be absolutely necessary, and some hold the exact opposite view. Personally, I believe in first-day lynches because "lynch discussion with deliberate intent to kill" is the primary way the village gains information. If we don't lynch on the first day, then the only thing we have to go off of the next day is victimology, and then if we decide that day that we don't have enough info, then the cycle goes on and on until the Eliminators win. @those discussing role distribution: I truly wouldn't be surprised if the eliminators had an artifabrian. It gives them complete flexibility in their roles, being able to choose either the corrupt or the uncorrupt each turn, and it also holds the potential (along with a PM) for villager manipulation. (i. e. De-corrupt a villager one night, then PM them the next day to try to gain there trust.) On that note, I'd like to tell everyone that I'll be gone for about the next 24 hrs. for a family trip. I may or may not be able to get on about this time tomorrow, but if I do, I'll probably spend that time catching up, so don't expect much from me.
  10. Ren, if I may, I would like to make a humble suggestion. In past games I've played, the GM would post a player list at the end of each write-up. In LG13, Kipper kept a player list in his signature. I would like to propose that you combine the two elements, and put the player list in your signature. That way, you don't have to go back and c/p it every turn, and us players don't have to go back to Day 1 every turn to remember who's still living. That said, this is your game, and it's absolutely your prerogative to run it however you wish. Additional comment: I'd also live to invite speculation on Eliminator numbers. I think we're looking at 5-6 eliminators is a game w/28 players.

  14. Great game guys, very enjoyable. It was definitely a new experience for me to step up and help lead the discussion. Most of the time I end up sitting in the background with the semi-active people, and it was interesting to actually get somebody lynched. . . and to have a suspicion that turned out to be right for once, even if Kipper drew my attention to the issue. I think I've got to agree with Phatt here. The game would definitely have been real different if Macen hadn't found us two diagrammists during the early game. Macen is definitely our MVP for this game.
  15. Em-son-of-none Finally arrived at the shattered plains, riding in a Chull-pulled wagon. Nasty crab-things he thought to himself. He'd traveled across the entire length of Roshar to get here today. He had learned many things in his travels, pottery and chain-mail creation not the least of what he'd learned, but that wasn't why he was here. Maybe here, in this Shaman-forsaken land, he'd finally find answers. He had to learn who his parents had been. Em-son-of-none, (Em for short) a Shin orphan, is joining in! And. . . wow. I even surprised myself with how detailed my character is. Definitely my best RP to date.

  20. I seem to remember a WoB that said Voidbringers don't hold stormlight perfectly, just really well, but I can't find it. Also, though I'm not sure how this affects the formula, but gem cut and clarity have more to do with how long it holds stormlight than gem size. Source
