  1. Is it from Roshar originally? Is it bigger than a breadbox? Is it Biotic? Is Kaladin in any way aware of it's existence?
  2. ^^this, but more for being really awesome than particularly funny.
  3. my favorite has always been this: Edit: I think that's a Brian Reagan, someone correct me it that's wrong. On Topic: Kelsier, Marsh, and just about everybody else on Scadrial has brown hair, just like every Alethi has Black hair. (Including Adolin) Syl is blue. not blue-white, blue. Stormlight is pale blue unless it's being filtered by a gem color. (i.e. stormlight rising from kaladin's skin is blue) inquisitor eye-spikes stick out a good six inches on either side, and are the diamater of the average eye socket.
  4. That's not the point of the question though. I was wondering if the Cosmere has it's own special investiture-related laws of physics in addition to all (or most) of the ones we have, and what some of those laws might be.
  5. The way he's shown on the cover is actually one of my least favorite things about WoR, because everything about that image looks right, except that Kaladin should have black hair. (and that's not a misconception, he's described that way in the Way of Kings.)
  6. I was already aware that the cosmere follows the Laws of Thermodynamics and the law of the conservation of mass, I was wondering if there were any additional thermodynamic-type laws in the cosmere that deal with investiture, and what those laws might be. Edit: clarity
  7. Does investiture follow other laws in addition to the laws of thermodynamics? If so, could you name one for us?
  8. Wow, this thread derailed quickly. Edit: Capitalization
  9. You know what, I'm gonna be completely honest with you here. I was really just hopping on the lynch-wagon. Because I lack strong suspicions at this point in the game, and because if I were to vote for somebody else I doubt I could be persuasive enough to change the lynch target, I felt that voting for Clanky would be the best use of my vote in current circumstances.
  10. Granted, tunnel-vision isn't the right turn, but you have posted about your suspicion of him for a couple of cycles in a row. I'm not really suspicious of you, I was just wondering why you're so suspicious of Clanky. Edit: Hey, hundred posts! Edit 2: Just realized that I quoted the wrong post. *facepalm*
  11. But for that to really do anything, you'd have to take the dor off-world.
  12. thanks guys, keep it rolling people.
  13. I've read every book by Brandon that I can get my hands on, and I've run out of good books to read, so here's my question: What other authors have similar writing styles to brandon, and how are they similar? Who are some good authors in general? I'm looking mostly for Epic fantasy, but I also enjoy a good Science Fiction, steampunk, or paranormal. Here's who I've already read/already know of: Brandon Sanderson (must always be first on any list of authors) Tolkien Robert Jordan Dave Duncan George R. R. Martin Eoin Colfer Brandon Mull J. K. Rowlings Isaac Asimov Frank Herbert James Dashner Patrick Rothfuss Rick Riordan John Flanagan D. J. Machale P. W. Catanese Pittacus Lore Richard Paul Evens Susan Cooper Obert Skye Greg Park So, yeah, you can see why I'm running out of books. I'll make a list of the authors you guys name as you guys name them. Authors you guys named: Scott Westerfield Michael J. Sullivan China Mieville Brian McClellan Jim Butcher Guy Gavriel Kay Brian McClellan Brent Weeks Scott Lynch Brian Staveley Mervyn Peake James S. A. Corey John Crowley John Scalzi Jonathan Stroud Orson Scott Card Terry Goodkind Seanan McGuire Michelle West/Michelle Sagara Glen Cook Diane Duane Terry Pratchett Dan Simmons Lois McMaster Bujold Tamora Pierce R. A. Salvatore Peter V. Brett David Walton Robin Hobb Naomi Novik
  14. Sure. . I'm sure he just picked a couple of us unconfirmed players in an attempt to distract people. How would the Gyorn know who the cultists are anyway? I agree that our priority for now should be on the cultists. If the Odiv starts converting, we can find them. If the Odiv doesn't convert, they're a non-issue. On the cultist-finding note: I'm kinda wondering what's happening with Araris and Clanky. What's with the tunnel vision Araris? Edit: Clarity
  15. At this point, I honestly lack any cultist suspicions that go beyond gut feelings. The one player who seems truly suspicious to me is Jain, mostly because of his responses to the accusations of Day 7, which seemed overly defensive.
  16. Foil, Epee, or Saber? I'm guessing Saber. I'd like to call myself an Epeeist, but I'm probably more of a Foilist because Epee events are almost non-existent in the Utah-southern Idaho division. On Topic: When you keep having to tell yourself that your en garde is NOT supposed to look like smokestance.
  17. Fencing weapons don't get this kinda reaction? I wonder what the ref would do when I take a parry and the opponents blade just disintegrates . . . back on topic: When you decide not to name the foil because the only the manufactures know the right name for it.
  18. When you decide to name your foil (see; fencing weapon) Nightblood, and then realize you can't because you're not allowed to throw your weapon during a bout. Especially funny because the foil in question has a black blade and grip, a red pad, and a super shiny silver guard. edit: capitalization
  19. huh. I could've sworn they were talking with Gavilar. Well, thanks for setting me straight
  20. Jasnah sees Gavilar talking with Nale on the day of his assassination.
